Have been using 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos and 2.5 ohm dual coil carto's since I received mine with zero failures. As a matter of fact I just ordered more from mad vapes. The reason I use the 1.5's is because I share them with my Inferno (eGo clone) and my lavatube. I see no reason to go to higher ohm carto's when everthing I usually purchase works great. The LT has a safety feature that won't allow you to pop the LR carto's.

Update! My awesome wife let me get it early! I've been vaping on it since I got it and my initial impressions...

1) it's smaller than I expected. In the videos I've seen, it looks huge. It's not. A pleasant surprise to be sure. While taller than my Provari, it is thinner. Feels good in the hand.

2) build quality is better than I thought it would be. I've read complaints about atomizer interfaces being tilted (not the case with mine), the vent hole not being completely through the end cap (not the case with mine), the anodizing being chipped (mines perfect). My only complaint is that the spring on the endcap was over compressed causing the battery to rattle in the tube and not engage fully causing intermittant operation. I pulled the spring and now it's works fine. no more rattle rattle.

3) ease of use. Yup it's easy!

4) my AW 18650 batteries from my Provari work just fine even though the AW 18650 that came with it is a flat top and won't work in the Provari.

5) 1st impressions... I like it. For the price, I don't think it can be beat. Will it replace the Provari? No. But it's definately getting pressed into regular service.

I plan on making a Provari vs Lavatube video in the coming days, much like I did the Provari vs Darwin video a few months ago.

Back to vaping on my Lavatube!

But 1st, I have to properly thank my wife for my early surprise! ;)

I have seen one review about the tilted atomizer. How many people have had that issue? I just ordered mine and it has shipped... just worried I might wind up with that problem too.

Seems that the official Volcano Lavatubes have already made changes to the the parts criticized. Fast forward to 2:02

Got my Lava Tube 3 days ago from a private seller here on the forum. That's a 1.7 ohm (metered) in the tank @ 4.2 volts, just under the protection limit according to the chart from the Volcano website. I'll be buying some 2.5 ohms for it next time I order stuff so I don't have to worry about the protection kicking in. My connection is straight but the voltage display is mounted high in the tube so I have to tilt the mod back a little to see it good. They're in stock right now on their site. So far I like it!

Fazed, the AW 18560 you got with the provari, does it have the nipple? If so, did the battery endcap screw all the way on or was it not fully seated? I saw a reviewer (I think it was LeggoMyEars, don't qote me on that though) that was unable to get the cap to screw down.. Just wondering if that works or not.

Yes it has the nipple. It fits just fine. Not sure what battery he was using but the AW IMR fits fine. A protected battery with a nipple won't fit due to the protection circuit adding length. That I'd my understanding anyway, as I don't have any of those types of batteries to test it.
