Just tried one of the 2.5 ohm cartomizers I recieved from madvapes. Whew 5.0 volts and wow, works beautifully. I put some cream soda ejuice I bought months ago from DFW vapor that had no taste on my ego and wow, it is great at 5.0 volts on my LavaTube. So glad I made the purchase. I absolutely love my Inferno with 1.5ohm cartomizers, but the addition of the LavaTube and 2.5 ohm cartomizers take it to a whole new level.

Quick question, I am thinking about purchasing the LT when it is made available. I'm fairly new, just started vaping 3 weeks ago, so I am unfamiliar with a lot of things. I have a KR808 pv currently and I know that most of my carts and ce2's will not be compatible with the LT. If I purchase the LT kit, would I have everything I need to start vaping with the LT right away or is there more accessories I would have to get. Thanks for answering.

I don't know anything about the KR808. The LT is compatable with all 510 atomizers, cartomizers etc. If you buy the LT kit it only comes with an atomizer and driptip, so yes you can vape straight out of the package if you have juice. I bought the tank/Carto combo from volcano. I also picked up some 1.5 ohm cartos from madvapes. I can use these on both my inferno(eGo) and Lava tube. I also bought some 2.5 ohm carto's from madvapes as these allow for higher volt vaping on the lava tube. The tanks and carto's from madvapes are cheaper and in my humble opinion, they work great.

Glad you enjoy your lavatube and that it is holding up well!
My cousin has one and has been enjoying it very much too, I compared it to my Provari and can say the differences are not worth spending and extra ~$100 bucks for the Pro.

Hey nqabassist
Being you've seen both the ProVari and the Lavatube, can you give a more detailed comparison?

How is the size compared to the ProVari? Does it feel well built, or does it feel like if you drop it once or twice, that's going to be it?

I have the ProVari, and love it, but man... they ARE expensive! I looked at the all black one, and you're getting very close to $200 bucks for one of these things! They (the ProVari) ARE build solid, and I've vapped on almost nothing else for nearly a year.

Thanks for any expansion in the comparisons of these two devices that you can provide.

Heyas Shel,

I haven't been vaping as long as you, but I have both the lava tube and a provari. And yup, I got the black chrome finish on my provari. Throw in the blue led option, ext cap, and one batt and it was $230. They had a 1 day 10% off sale, so I actually only paid about $210 for the above mentioned, but it's like you said.

It's hard to really compare the lava tube and the provari. They're both vv. They both have the digital display. They can both use the same 18650 batts.

The lava tubes controls are easier to use. Easy to adjust it or power it off. But it won't save your voltage setting if you are too slow when you change out the batt, and it won't show you your atty resistance.

Those are some of the small differences in my opinion.

The lava tube seems pretty solid. I'm not too worried about dropping mine. (these are just my feelings and opinions, of course.) The voltage and power buttons rattle a bit, and the endcap is part metal, part plastic, so seems like it could break if you dropped it just right. But you could probably superglue it back together and go on vaping. I'm just trying to list the negatives here that I've seen. And the negatives aren't that bad. I do really like the lava tube.

Since you're used to the provari, if you get a lava tube, you'll see the difference the moment you pick it up.

Having both in front of me, I don't think there's much comparison in build quality between the two. The provari would win, hands down. But, the lava tube works, it costs 1/3rd the price, seems solid enough, and comes with a 1 year waranty.

btw, since this post was mostly a reply to Shel who has a provari, I didn't say much about the provari, good or bad. I think both the provari and lava tube are great products.

:D

First, thanks for your in-depth response! Exactly the kind of info I was looking for....

Second... man, I'll bet that Black chrome/blue LED ProVari is sweeeeeet! I'm jealous!

I have NO complaints about my ProVari, but they are expensive.

This certainly sounds like a more affordable option as a backup or 2nd unit to have on hand!

Thanks again for the info!

Shel

I have a Provari, and another black with blue display Provari on order (it was so pretty, I couldn't resist). I also have a lavatube, but I can't touch it till Christmas (wife's orders)! It's wrapped under the tree, and it taunts me daily. The more I read y'alls reviews, the more I want to tear into it, and put it through its paces.

I would consider myself a loyal Provari fanboy, as I sold my Darwin (gasp!) to pay for yet another Provari. However, I find myself intrigued and fascinated by the LT. Even if it's not as refined as the Provari, and from what I've read so far, it's not... The price more than makes up for it. I plan to do an in depth comparison between the Provari and LT when I finally get to touch it without fear of losing fingers. Till then, I will read your posts about how awesome it is, and stare at my Christmas tree.

Honestly, Maximillian covered everything.

The Lavatube feels like a $70 mod, and the Provari feels like a $200 mod. I'm not gonna lie, I couldn't give up my Provari even if they tried to pry it out of my hands. But the Lavatube seems very solid at the same time.

It's much lighter than the Pro, which is actually a nice thing to some, but I really like the heft of the Pro.

It's like comparing a Toyota Camry with with leather seats and all the upgrades to a BMW. Similar, but just not the same thing.

It seems sturdy though, I wouldn't be afraid to drop it, and for $70 bucks, you can get multiple 'Tubes for the price of one Pro.

Edit: Just realized it isn't your first VV. If you're a Pro owner already, a Lavatube is a great backup or replacement, you just need to see which one you like better. And the size, I'd say it has about an 1 - 1 1/2 inches on the Pro.

That was the last review I needed to read. I'm getting a LavaTube.

Not sure how long I have been using my LT now, but I love it. My wife is good to me and doesn't get ...... when I buy new toys for vaping, but it just didn't make sense to me to spend that kind of money. Do I want a Provari, OMG, yes I do. Do I need a Provari, no and when the red LT comes out on Volcanos site, I am buying my back up and will still have spent less. I have dropped the LT several times. I have a habit of knocking it off my end table onto the wood floor. No damage, not even a sign of a chip in the paint. It landed on the tank mod twice, no damage. Love this thing.
