510 is Pathetic.

Rick, good luck with your noble quest! I do like my 510 a lot, but it did take a lot of work to make it work right for me. The stock carts suck. They hang on to juice and have to be changed a lot. I use the ZFM almost exclusively now, and much has been solved: vapor consistency, how long they last, and far less clogs.
But really, I am posting because your complaints about taste, throat burning, etc, sound like what I went through when I was initially using PG-based juices. These things are what PG do to me, among other less savory side effects, so I switched to VG-based juices, with the only PG being in the flavors I add to my DIY juices. Those problems vanished right away. Flavor is far better, as to me PG had its own sort of sour taste, and as long as I thin the juice with a little 100-proof vodka, the TH is great, the juice wicks well, and I am certainly getting the nic I need. My 510 with VG-juices and ZFM is more than good enough for me now.
If you are getting the nic, but are still craving something, then TWs advice is wise and likely on target. I want to try some Swedish snus soon for the same reason...TW, it was your mostly postings that convinced me this was a good fix. I know how much nic you were vaping before you went totally alkaloid (I'm imagining Chris from MFS saying, "Yeah, that Victor, nice guy. Bought 100 mg from us by the gallon. Then something happened and he went totally alkaloid...haven't heard from him since. Happens to the best of 'em..."). Sort of like totally paranoid, but more relaxed.

So, you know for a fact that the claws in my chest don't exist. I should be happy with some vapor, zero flavor and zero satisfaction.
Apparently, I've spent hundreds of dollars in a desperate attempt to quench a craving that doesn't exist.
All I need to do is vape a 510 and pretend I'm getting what I need, right?

I wouldnt go so far as to say the 510 is pathetic but I think it is difficult to get working right for a NOOB. I still flood the atty at times, suck in juice and almost jump up and down when it works perfect and I get the best flavor and vapor. I think they should quit selling the stock batts for it all together - the PCC takes 4-5 hours to charge one and it only lasts about a half hour. For a chain ex-smoker this isn't even remotely adequate.
Will I continue to use the 510? Probably not regularly - looking for an upgrade already that I don't have to fill so often and fight to get it just right. I know it comes highly recommended by just not for me with my voracious appetite for vaping.

No Rick, I think he's saying some things are not for ALL people.
Some people drive perfectly good cars into other cars, trees, or drive 'em off cliffs, etc.
Doesn't mean the entire model lineup of this car is "pathetic", or that the entire auto industry needs to improve. It might mean, just maybe, that they should probably start riding bicycles or even go back to walking.
Maybe this e-cig thing just isn't for you. If you really want to quit smoking, there are plenty of alternatives and one might actually work for you where it didn't for someone else.
You started this thread with the knowledge that you would most likely get slammed and there's a very good reason for your assumption; thousands of people love their e-cigs, and for them, 510's, 401's, 901's, etc. work extremely well (as can easily be witnessed by the membership of this forum and the ton of videos on youtube and elsewhere).

My 510 is great. The only thing I dont like about it is the short batt life. Other than that its great and I was a chain smoker and smoked for the better part of the last 35 yrs. I need a good throat hit and lots of vapor in order to satisfy my needs and the 510 works for me. I dont understand what your saying really since the problems you are having are foreign to me. It just sounds waaaay out there to me. Something is definitely wrong with your unit. Maybe, its just not for you.
Over 5 months on the same 510's I bought last July. The have worked flawlessly for me and continue to produce good vape and TH's. 510's in my opinion are one of the single best PV's on the market today.
I spell pathetic as NeverLightAgain I ordered two they were my first e-cigs... one in pink and one in black... the pink one was jacked up from the beginning... barely producing vapor and only keeping a charge for about 30 minutes... the black one was pretty decent keeping a charge for about an hour and a half and producing nice vapor... but it died after a mere two weeks!
I now have a 901, 801 and am awaiting modernvapor's 902 I've been pleased with the 901 and 801, but I'm anxious to try more and am really interested in the 510...

i will never go back to never light again (.com) i am getting a little fed up with the shipping info from eastmall as well... my package left wherethehellever, china 6 days ago and hasn't moved since....
there are too many USA based companies to list and with USPS priority shipping they should arrive here in around three days (rather than 3 weeks)

the "titan" i got from cloverspace.com is actually not a titan at all...
the atty burns too hot and scorches all the flavor out of the liquid... not to mention that it only holds about 4 drops of liquid that it goes through in a matter of seconds!!

that suckz! I got the 510 Titan Mega from Totally Wicked and I really like it alot....I have a 901 as well and I still use that one when my hands are busy and I dont have the extra hand to activate the manual batts on my 510. I hope you didnt pay extra for "titan" stuff.
i would like a vid of the pathetic 510 you have.im not reading all trough this to see if your using a stock battery.but i bet you are.get a dual voltage device and then tell me how bad it is.ill even throw 10 bucks towards one, just to prove you wrong.im sure other people will too.

Where do you get the L2's? Are they as good as they are suppose to be? I would really like to know if they are better than the ones I have, which are whatever kind comes with the Titan Mega kit I got from TW. Do you know if they are high bridge or low bridge? I hate high bridge attys........they dont like me either LOL They leak like crazy cause they smush my fiber down and I get liquid in my mouth all the time with those darn things. Yucky........
i just watched the video and wow.must have had some bad atomizers.there was no vapor at all.and you took 3 huge drags.hmmmmmmm
As I have already mentioned.. we'll get Rick's problems figured out. He is sending me his hardware.... I'll check it out and fix or replace it. No worries.....
