Here's my vaporesso cCell Head Dissection video.

Thanks, VG, for posting this. It is very helpful to be able to see how you dissected it and what you found. I really wish you had more coils to work with, too! I am really curious as to whether this was a one-off coil or if it is going to be something that happens fairly regularly, and I feel more prepared for what might happen when I get mine! :)

It was more of a two-off situation for me. Both cCells did the same thing. But again, I think that Vaporesso is on the right track, and they seem to be making changes for the better. :)

Send 'em to Roadtrip! He LOVES sintering! :D
I do love a good sintering! :p

I'd have to check back in this thread, but there was someone that does have access to a sintering kiln/oven. They are widely used in dental applications.

I think I'm still a little sintered from Thanksgiving...... o_O

Not happening. ;)

And since my tank hasn't even shipped yet...

BTW, when you say that your coil lasted a day and a half, how many mls would that be? I usually think in terms of mls of e-liquid rather than days.

Well I got cindered at Thanksgiving. The red mark you see on my forehead in the video was were I ran into a branch on the Bonfire as I was rekindling it with more branches to keep it going.

I felt it and stepped back, but I didn't realize it left a mark.

That would be hard to say for certain, but I'd guess around 15ml Max in the 3.5ml Tank, but probably less than that. This would be for both cCells when they clogged the first time. Only about 2ml after that in each one... half a Tankful after Dry Burning.

Not happening, huh? Your Avatar does not look like a Chicken.

Oh right! I forgot you ended up using both coils. I sure hope they are improving them. I am done with the days of "buy a 5-pack of coils and hope 3 work." :D

Yeouch! I didn't even notice a red mark, but now I need to watch it again so I can see it, lol.

Youch! Glad you're alright!

I had another thought about that cottonish material. I think as well as using it to evenly disperse liquid across the ceramic, it may be used for assembly purposes as well. As tightly as the entire coil was press-fitted into the metal sleeve, it's secondary purpose may be as a gasket to protect the ceramic during the fitting and also ensure a tight seal.

I think they may be on the right track with the ceramics. In a lot of products, but seems very prevalent in vape gear that it isn't quite right the first go round. We constantly and sometimes very quickly see versions 1,2,3, etc. to improve on the initial designs.

I know the OBS Crius RTA literally released 3 different versions of their tank in a month. It sucks if you got V1 and, literally, in a months time they made significant improvements to a 3rd version of the same tank. It was nice to see that they didn't waste time and listened to their customers and quickly made the changes and improvements they wanted. I'm glad I procrastinated a bit with that tank as I have the latest V3 of the Crius on the way, I just hope V4 doesn't come out before I get V3.....lol.

I just hope Vaporesso takes the time to get it right.

thanks, @retired1 ! ;) it was much easier when the post count showed up in the avi but, then again, i'm still getting used to the idea that new members can post all over the forum to begin with!
and i understand now why you posted that xf has safeguards that make a minimum post count unnecessary!

I'm on the fence regarding this tank using the ccell coils. I'm hoping Vaporesso gets the longevity issues worked out as I'd really like to have a coil work for 6 weeks without requiring any attention. Might be a pipe dream.....
I used to get at least 6 weeks from a 1/8" AO Ceramic Stick (and I think it was a lot more), but I could easily Dry Burn it to clean it, and tighten the coil around it whenever that was needed. I'll say again that I think Vaporesso is on the right track here, and I actually applaud their efforts. This is the first Head of this type that I have ever seen. It works great at first and has the cleanest Flavor of any Ceramics I've tried. I haven't said yet, but I never got any Spitting, either.

Maybe if they use a larger grain of powder in the Sintering process, the Ceramic may not clog up as fast. I am not a Chemist or Metallurgist, so I don't know how an ejuice (or anything else) flows through Ceramics of various kinds, but an AO Stick lasted a lot longer before it needed cleaning. I don't remember how long, but it seems like it was at least two weeks. I don't know how long an Aspire Atlantis Head will last on average either, but 1.5X longer seems well within the range of possibility to me.

Vaporesso seems to be listening to us, because they have made other changes quickly, so I'm reasonably sure they are still working on the cCells. I certainly hope they are!!! :thumb:

Loyalty and trust - you dont get them making false claims.

Theres two much stuff being thrown out the door without proper testing/misleading claims

In the last month i have returned:

2 x VTC Minis - Resistance changes after power off/sleep - An issue that was ignored, like its customers, for weeks, then finally admitted, a lot late for many. JoyeTech ...on my permanent sh#t list. KangerTech was previously the only company on there, but feeling lonely.

1 x Crown tank - Dodgy coils/Unimpressive RBA - at least the issues were admitted to a lot earlier.

Im a once bitten twice shy person, i wont revisit gear from vendors where theyve burnt me the first time. Exception goes to Uwell and they at least opened up about the issue with me and i got a resolution i was happy with.

Any other vendor ive had to return gear to is going to have to work twice as hard to even get me to consider buying their gear again.

Was talking to pbusardo during the VTC Mini tests/trials to try and resolve the issues (this was where JoyeTech sent me "beta" firmware to try and troubleshoot after weeks of beiung ignored, sent me firmware that seemed to be customised just for my resistance variance and told me not to talk about it (another user also noted similar customised feeling to the beta firmware they were sent)) , and he views it the same way, way too much gear coming out untested/dodgy and as he says, it will probably keep happening if people just keep buying new gear the moment it comes out. Then theres the segment of the vaping community with more disposable income than you average vaper (definitely me) who keeps buying anything that comes out just to have new shiny...and build up their vape cabinet like a status symbol

If people dont buy everything that comes out those manufacturers might have to spend more time making quality gear and actually test it. And yes KangerTech im looking at you when i say this - Nebox - that should never had made it to market, unless you like 1300F shots of Ti oxide/Ni when the tank gets near dry/dry. No temp protection on a temp control device is insanity defined.

Worse still are the people who buy the cutting edge stuff/dodgy gear, figure out theres issues and whack them in the classifieds to get rid of them, where more often than not, some newbie will jump on them...

I got on this to improve my health, not act as an unpaid guinea pig. You want to release untested gear to the community, pay us for the service we are currently providing as your de facto R&D department

can't find fault with that statement but, unfortunately, it's been like that from the get-go which for me was back in 2010. now, i've rarely been one of the early adopters but i've watched this cycle repeat itself over and over again ;)
