I hear ya man. Some of my favorites are rather thick, and besides drippers, the only tanks I've got that will handle those are my Aqua V2 clones. And they work GREAT. Wick real fast, easy to build, excellent flavor. But the capacity is so small!
Yeah, I'm def a tank guy. Never really enjoyed drippers. I was using my subtank mini with the v2 RBA and that worked for months. it was the longest i've ever gone on a single tank/juice/coil style.I hear ya man. Just want that enjoyable vape i'm used to but I'm also trying to find that clean pure flavor.
In TC Mode, all you can change is the Temp. Can you adjust the watts in temp mode on these? Like on my TC60W I can set a max watt level the device will use. Is this one just full blast?
If you consider that most people set the Wattage to the highest setting and vary the Temp as desired anyway, it's not all that lame. IF the Watts ever get to 75W on the Target Mod with your set Temp, it will only do so for a fraction of a second. A higher Temp setting is more likely to reach a higher Wattage while getting the coil up to Temp. IMO, it's a good feature because all it really does it get the coil up to the set Temp faster than something like 35W Max can. I experimented with setting the Wattage lower on other Mods, and I decided to leave it set pretty high, so for me, I don't mind that the Target Mod doesn't let me set a Wattage in TC Mode.Lame. I think that is a great feature on my iStick.
A TC Mod offers a Wattage Mode to be backward compatible with non-TC wires like Kanthal. You use Ni200 (and any other TC wire) in TC Mode. Using a TC wire in Wattage Mode can create nasties that are easily avoided by only using them in TC Mode. A TC wire can get too hot in Wattage mode, but the Max Temp is 600°F in TC Mode. TC can also prevent Dry Hits and burnt wicking, where VW and VV cannot.Okay wait a min... I own 3 vv, vw, tc mods so you are not supposed to keep them in wattage mode? Then what's the point of the tc mod offering wattage mode? Second when you guys are talking about the kanthal coils you are still talking about ceramic right?
This is true, but I should know better. When I saw your post I knew immediately that I had been spelling it wrong. Not just you... I see mangled spelling EVERYWHERE! We've become a nation... a world... so sure of our spell check and autocorrect that we rarely even read what we right. Er, rite? Write...

I'm having lots of troubles with my coil. I have it in the vape-forward atty and all the juie flow holes are open and available. using ghostberry juice which is around 75/25 VG and even at 20w I'm just getting ceramic flavor. I've read about air being trapped in the coil and preventing wicking and not sure if that's my problem? Either way, the only time I get a non "dry" (more ceramic taste) is when I put a few drops right on the coil itself. Any thoughts? Should I try a new coil?
When I started the coil I put 3 drops in the center, filled the tank and it only sit for about a minute before I took the first vape at 20w. Did I maybe ruin the coil not letting it soak and wick enough?
Yes, there is a space between the beehive holes and the inner chamber, but it's only about half a mm. There is also space between the top of the ceramic & cotton and the top of the metal air hole. It's a silica washer that's both an insulator and a cushion/shock absorber.Hmmm. Yeah, looking at pics online again, I see what you're talking about. Isn't there a bit of space (say, 1mm or less?) between the hole and the inner piece of metal? Because liquid has to get in there somehow, right?
That's the way that is recommended. Most of my juice is at least 70VG/30PG and higher (80/20 is my preference) and I've never had a single problem on any of my cCell coils. I don't prime them, just pop the coil in the tank and fill her up. I let it sit about 5 minutes, give it a few dry puffs and let her go!
If you did get it too hot it will recover. If you are willing, you could try another tank of juice through it and the off flavor should clear up. I overheated my nickel head accidentally and I had a horrible taste for a while but it was more on my tongue than it was the coil, lol! I plan to never, ever do that again. Blech.I watched a tear down of these coils and they DO contain a cotton woven fiber. It's on the outside of the ceramic which prevents the juice from flooding the coil of ceramic. I'm thinking I possibly harmed that part of the coil which is what is giving me this flavor. I unfortunately don't know anyone else with 1 to try and see the difference with. Guess I'll try again, it's only a few bucks.
It's just hard to see all these videos and reviews of people using these at 25-30-35 watts with VG juice and no issues. The moment I try and give it a go I have nothing but issues, as always.
I vape at least 80 VG and it handles my juices wonderfully.Hmmm. Yeah, looking at pics online again, I see what you're talking about. Isn't there a bit of space (say, 1mm or less?) between the hole and the inner piece of metal? Because liquid has to get in there somehow, right?
This leads me to another question: How do these heads handle thicker e-liquids? Say, 30PG/70VG and thicker? This has almost certainly been addressed earlier, but I was not paying attention.![]()
This is a possibility with some tanks. I can't remember which tank did this, but one of them completely blocked the cCell juice holes, and it was a very snug fit, so I didn't try to fill it.I don't know anything about the Vape Forward atomizer, but could it be that your coil is being choked off? In the Target tank the juice flow holes are not blocked at all, so it's possible your coil just isn't getting enough juice. Even only letting it sit for a minute you shouldn't be getting dry hits, and definitely not after letting it sit overnight.
Glad you worked it out, and thanks for posting the progress. This could help others.Well it WAS the coil. I put a new coil in and did not prime it with liquid at all. Put the tank together and filled with the same juice and let it set for 10 minutes. Gave it 4-5 nice primer pulls and I could see the bubbles in the tank, made me smile. Sure enough the taste is gone. Now to break in the coil for flavor but I can see what everyone was saying about it being very clean even at first. Goes to show, do not fire this coil without priming.
Isn't he awesome? I love VG's posts. They are extremely comprehensive and worded so common folks such as myself actually understand them.Great teardown, VG!![]()

This is cCell coil in my Furytank 80/20 VG/PG, no wicking problemThis is how the cCell looks in my Melo 2. Not nearly as open to the juice in the canyons on the Target.
