I've got a terrible headache. In reading this forum, I'm not sure if it's from too much nicotine or from withdrawal.

The good side is that first morning deep breath. No more pain. I hope the lungs do clean themselves out even though I'm vaping.

I was smoking Marb Ultra Light 100s, slightly more than a pack a day when I went to vaping. Now I'm not smoking ANY analogs. I switched to vaping on July 7th.

I've been vaping 18mg. I would say I reach for the 510 the same number of times as I would a cig, but I don't take nearly as many puffs.

Idea/Suggestions/Comments?

All welcome!

I've been vaping about a month without any side effects. I also quit smoking analogs. I just noticed a strange effect only in the last two nights, when I vaped...never happened before, so it may or may not be related to vaping.

The palms of my hands felt warm and turned red and flush, like a sunburn, and felt very itchy right after vaping for 20 minutes or so. Not sure of the medical name for this, and if it's an alergic or toxic reaction to the liquid. I didn't get any liquid on my hands so I don't think its a contact dermatitis.

I recently got some new liquid and now I'm thinking it may be the source. I will try going back to my old liquid and see if it has any effect.

I've quit smoking twice over the years I smoked. Nearly all of the symptoms I'm reading about came and went. Eventually, without nicotine, I found myself sleeping more, sleeping better, feeling warmer (hot even), increased dreams, more bizarre dreams (the dream thing is probably not due to lack of nicotine as dreaming does seem to always increase whenever there is a major change in one's life). Cigarette smoke has always irritated my hypersensitive, light blue eyes and vaping has been a relief to my eyes. Giving up cigarettes caused my sinuses to swell; this was a huge disappointment as I was hoping for great relief from allergies and sinus problems. My sinuses were so swollen up I was miserable and no amount of antihistamine would relieve it. I was off cigarettes for at least two years and the sinus thing never got better. Apparently the astringent benefit of smoking was one of the good things about smoking. I haven't experienced the snuffy nose with vaping.

I have, however, found myself clearing my throat aggressively from time to time. My throat isn't irritated, it just seems to clog up with fluid. Not the bad, gunky phlegmy goo but it does build up once in awhile. It's not enough to bother me. I've smoked cloves for years now so maybe I'm not reaping the anesthetic benefits of the cloves. I bought some clove oil (whew, get back Jack!!! that's potent stuff) and am using it on the outside surface of my cart and poking it into the little hole I inhale through. A dab of liquid sucralose with the clove gives me that wonderful taste I miss so much.

I have not gone off analogs for health reasons. Lord, I've assaulted my lungs so ruthlessly with cigarettes for so many years I'm sure not concerned about vaping. I truly enjoy the effects of nicotine so vaping seems like having my cake and eating it too. What is wonderful is the absence of the smell of stale smoke in my hair, on my clothes, in my house. It's also oh-so-convenient to know I can take a whiff off my e-cig anytime, anywhere. Smoking is a dirty, smelly habit and I am grateful to find a way to enjoy my nicotine while escaping the worst of getting it. If vaping kills me at some point in the future, it sure won't be any worse than dying from smoking related disease. If any statistic can be cast in stone, it's that birth is undoubtedly the only iron-clad certain cause of death. Now pass that e-cig ;)

damn. I should have read this thread before buying my first e-cig today. I now own a dse0084 mini ecig and today was my first time vaping. all I know is after 6 hours since my last vape, my right upper leg all of a sudden felt sore and started to ache. I have NOT had any sort of muscle pain in years upon years. I'm definitely attributing it to vaping and I honestly might quit them completely because of this :(

PG based liquids are known to cause muscle soreness b/c of lactic acid build up..try using a non-pg liquid.

I've noticed that when I vape my voice gets hoarse and cracks like a boy in puberty. I don't get a sore throat, I just talk funny. Has anybody else experienced this and does it go away? I use standard janty carts and liquid which are PG based.

Oops! I forgot to add that I'm experiencing heartburn as well.

I sometimes get this in the morning with my PEG based liquids but goes away after I have my tea..

Hey, and that's great! I have my own wonderful list of things that I enjoy about using Ecigs and not a burning tobacco product. This site is full of them. I spout it off to everyone I meet who says... "what are you smoking?"
But since we are all LAB RATS, I appreciate that we have this area to discuss symptoms that may or may not be related to the ecig. We just don't know. So this is a place to share information. I don't need to repeat all the good stuff here. If it weren't for all the good stuff, none of us would be here at all.

Well that is very true and yes I did go off a little half cocked and it is true that not everyone may be affected the same way by the ingredients of e-liquid or inhaling vapor. It's just sometimes I hear some of the symptoms people claim is due to vaping and think about the pill for restless leg syndrome. As I find that to be a huge joke it's kinda like creating a pill for bad hair day syndrome. But I do appoligize as it is a good thread for people to express any symptoms they may be having or think they are having do to e-smoking,or vaping.

I've been vaping for just over a month, and I'm wondering if anyone else has had really chapped lips. Mine just started this week and I suppose it could be unrelated, but I'm not one to generally get chapped lips (especially in the summer).

Anyone?

i didn't get chapped lips but i did get a rash on my face - i am guessing that the ejuice gets in my mustache and where it touches my face the ejuice is irritating the skin

i started making sure i rinse often and the rash is going away .

any way - the ejuice in the mustache is way better than all that tar that i used to have to wash out with soap twice a day - i smoked non filter and the tar build up was so bad that it would burn my lips and tongue if i touched it

I got very chapped lips (in fact they almost seemed to shrink!) when I used PG liquids. Now that I have swapped to VG based liquids the chapped lips have gone.

I can't start a topic about it, but this is my common symptom. I notice that I get kind of fatigued after I vape (this is only the third day) I guess some might consider it relaxation, but I just feel kind of beat.

In fact I've been getting up at about 9 every morning, and yesterday I got my eastmall juices in the mail. So of course today when I woke up at my usual 9am, well I vaped a whole lot of different flavors, then somehow fell back asleep and didn't wake up til 5.

I can't really think of anything but the liquid as the cause. So I will go on vaping and I'll see if I continue sleeping or if it at all lowers the quality of life in the short term.

Anyone else notice the sleepyness?

I got the opposite.............but analog withdrawals have way more effects on a body than vaping

We have to remind ourselves to drink more H2O, the liquids in juice whether PG or VG are humectants (drying) so don't forget to replenish, often. This can explain why we're running to the bathroom more, also! It takes awhile for everyone to decide what's enough or too much nicotine, would rather err on the low side that jump too high. It will all settle down, I'm sure. I've been using 24mg/ml juice since I started vaping in March, a couple weeks ago I started cutting that back to 18mg/ml, and really, suffered NO issues at all. So cutting down when you're ready can be just as painless as stopping analogs was to begin, it's pretty unbelievably easy.

This is my first full day of vaping, and my throat hurts a bit, i'm drinking lots of water tho, since now I am going to quit sodas and other flavored death drinks.

My question is: The throat hit is STRONG, I also sing and record songs as a hobby, I noticed that when i smoked analogs, ebcause of reduced lung capacity and as just a side effect of smoking, I couldn't really sing as well as I used to. I'm hopeful that now as I switch to vaping, that my voice will come back, I know my lung capacity will, but what about that soreness at the back of the throat and such...will that go away and will my singing voice be back to normal?

Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks!

How can we ascertain that its the quitting of the cigarette that is causing the acne break outs rather than the commencing of the E Cig?

I'd have to agree. That and the other symptoms can be the toxins from the analogs clearing out of your system?

AND possibly your body not getting enough nicotine as it's accustomed to?

I was a light smoker. A pack a week and now I am a low 11mg juice this last month.I have had not one bad symptom only a slight desire to raise my nicotine level to 16 or 18.

As a person who had actually quit smoking once, {Then like a dummy, came back... I like my smoking and nic} Most if not all the symptoms I've read about related to what I went through when I quit smoking cold turkey.

I am now 38 and have been smoking roughly 28 years at a pack and a half to 2 packs a day. {grew up in a household where my folks said, if you can afford em you can smoke em. Damn my paper route! lol. Also a dad who smokes 3 packs a day... still to this day}

So as a person who is going to start vaping soon {today or tomorrow my kit arrives :)}, I will be adding to this and quoting as I get symptoms... if I do, what the symptoms are and how they related to the first time I quit.

Don't forget you are also going into withdrawal from the 4000 chemicals that you are no longer taking in ;) That's the beauty of e-cigs. 60% of the population loves nicotine, we just hate arsenic and all the other lovelies we get when smoking analogs.

The only good thing about smoking is you kind of smell like Humphrey Bogart... Granted he's been dead 40 years....
