I thought you meant the cellucotton, so I tried chewing it. Can't get it to squeak. I think I could eat this stuff, although I probably wouldn't survive very long without some other nutrition.
Seems like it might be like swallowing a furball. Not that I have any personal experience with that.

If you can, can you get ramie fiber into the thread? It's another spinning fiber that's said to be "rot resistant and heat proof" as described from the source where I got mine.

The stuff is is the most uniform as far as fibers going in the same direction. It feels silky, splits apart easily, and is a pain to work with when you first start. It has a difficult time staying put if you're doing some detailed wicking like in an rta. The heat proof aspect of it intrigues me.
