I have a 30ml bottle of both italian creme and white chocolate from HS and despite being able to easily identify these chemicals in other flavors, I just don't get anything from either of those two. I do get an overly deep/rich flavor which is easily overpowering at very small percentages, though it's not the same rich/buttery profile of say, Capella's Vanilla Custard, which is known to have at least Acetyl Proprionyl.
I've read the information provided by Linda a number of times, though for me, I just don't get that same profile. With the vanilla, I do, though from reading up on what's in the vanilla e-liquid that HS sales, it could be the Benzyl alcohol that is giving those notes since it is an aromatic and is known to have a sweet / fruity / balsamic flavor to it and it's one of the ingredients in the e-liquid. Reading up on it a little more and it doesn't seem to be a good thing as the toxicity details are a bit alarming. This is quoted from NLM ToxNet:
"Benzyl alcohol poisoning can result from
oral, parenteral, dermal, inhalational, and ocular
exposures. Neonates receiving IV products containing
benzyl alcohol may experience "gasping syndrome",
characterized by severe metabolic acidosis, gasping
respirations, CNS depression, seizures,
intraventricular hemorrhage, hematologic
abnormalities, skin breakdown, hepatic and renal
failure, progressive hypotension, bradycardia,
cardiovascular collapse, and death. A 5-year-old girl
developed severe metabolic acidosis following a
continuous diazepam infusion. Benzyl alcohol toxicity
was confirmed from benzoic acid serum and urine
concentrations."
Though, and perhaps you can, I've not found how much has to be inhaled for it to be actually be toxic.
Perhaps you personally don't have anything more to go on, but we all DO have a lot more to go on! We can easily taste & smell these chemicals (as Linda @ TFA has taught us how to do
Perfumer's Apprentice). 'Just like can easily & clearly discern whether or not there is cinnamon or pepper in our food, we can also know when someone is yankin' our winkie.
That is the very reason many of us scoffed at FW's bogus claims...because we could TASTE the chemicals.
These chemicals are not "vague" or "difficult to discern" - they have a very distinctive 'taste profile', and anyone that's willing to do what Linda/TFA suggests, will (at the very minimum) easily be able to discern them when they're present in large amounts...very quickly.
HS's Italian Cream flavor REEKS of one/more of them. We recently got HS's White Chocolate (since TFA's is over 1%), but haven't yet had a chance to test-vape it.
I hate to depend on my memory, but I am almost positive that months ago (when I started researching all this deeply), that Hangsens website clearly said 'diacetyl free', but substituted acetyl propionyl.
This site
What Is e-Liquid - Hangsen E-Liquid at the Right Price | eLiquidChina.com (that claims to be "The Worlds Largest Hangsen E-Liquid Online Store), states this:
Regular, usually (but not necessarily) cheaper e-Liquid may contain any of the following chemicals widely considered harmful if inhaled.
Diacetyl: Diacetyl is used in many food products to create an artificial creamy, buttery flavour. Diacetyl can be harmful if inhaled. We ensure non of our hangsen e-Liquids contain the flavouring ingredient diacetyl.
Acetoin: Acetoin may react when mixed with other chemicals and may create traces of Diacetyl. Due to this finding, we do not use any flavoring ingredients containing Acetoin. Our hangsen e-Liquids are water soluble and do not contain any oil based flavorings which can be harmful if inhaled
...no mention of acetyl propionyl. There's certainly something in the Italian Cream that tastes exactly like Acetyl Propionyl in the TFA flavors (to us). And it irritates our lungs just like Capella's VC (which has Acetyl Propionyl).
