Yes it adds up but IMHO you are not done. Are You?
I say you have gone from a KEA to a Honda, not in the Porsche category. It's tempting to buy Chinese tanks when they are only $40 to $50. But there in lies the problem; you're not satisfied with the performance and quality. So you buy another cheep atomizer and or mod combination. If you have a regulated device that pushes 50 to 60 watts you're good; you just need a quality tank now. Expect to pay $150 to $180 for a Squape R, Kayfun V4 and possibly a GEM if you can find one. The first two are available and I think you would be satisfied with the quality and performance as long as they are originals. I have been happy with both of them but for the past 3 months have been vaping exclusively on a Wizard Apprentice with the GEM topper. This may be new territory, but the cost for flavor, quality and performance comes at a price. An SX Mini is also an excellent mod that will power almost anything you need. Most of my atomizers I use never exceed 13 or 14 watts. My RDA's I run around 40 watts on my SX Mini.
Do not try to reverse the thread to authentics/clones debate. It had been run many times on ECF and no proof was found that either of them are better.

I guess I have not done any rebuilding and am a bit nervous about spending $150 -$200 on a tank to mess it up. I just looked online for both the Squape R and Kayfun V4 and they look really good and have great reviews. How much work is it to rebuild?
You do not have to spend that much. A lot of good clones around (just choose a right one). They perform exactly as authentics (the only exception I am aware of is Square One).

Whenever I feel like I've bought a lot of stuff I just look at my signature and think "Well, I haven't spent THAT much!"

For the first year or so I bought a ton of stuff. Especially when sub-ohm tanks started being the craze, and then when I started rebuilding. The last 6 months or so I've gotten some stuff that I'm happy with. I also came to the realization that no matter what I'm always going to want more, so I'm happy with what I've got for now.

Yeah to me I am all about the flavor and the hit, don't care much about clouds. I have been checking out where I can get the Squape R but am concerned about getting a clone, or should I be? K Fun has like 40 parts and maybe a bit too much for my first build.

Take a look at VapeRev for the Squape R's, $165 for an original. You get what you pay for.

Smoking was costing me $3000 a year here in Michigan. Lots of vapers could cite similar amounts. You stopped smoking so all that money is hanging around with nothing to do. I've been frugal. In the first year I've spent less than $1000 and in the years to come it should be possible to have a first class experience, devices and DIY liquids, for around $400 a year, may be less. I talked to a guy two days ago who was spending $1500 a month for a while. That was breaking him. He was able to stop that.

Good Day Everyone,

I quit smoking a year ago, went into my local vape shop and decided to try vaping. Got talked into buying an Kangertech EVOD kit. It was a great starting device, got banged up pretty quick but worked great. Less than a month after that I decided to get a new tank. I went with the Kangertech Aero, however I then found that the battery on the EVOD's did not really give off enough to support the tank. The next week I bought an EVOD battery with variable voltage to give me that extra kick, it worked great. I still wanted more. I bought an Aspire Premium kit with the Nautilus mini tank. This thing was great but the battery did not last more than half a day. I was carrying like 3 devices on me to get me through the day. 2 weeks after that I said I am buying my first mod. I bought a SMOK BEC Pro 50W with 2 18650 batteries, battery charger, plus the Aspire Nautilus. $350.00 later. However this was an awesome mod. It was like going from a KIA to a Porsche. You figured I would have stopped there. Well then I wanted something smaller to have at work, so I picked up a Joytech E Grip, worst device ever. 20W no tanks, battery life was ok but not great. Every coil always gave a burnt taste after about 10W, so I picked up the SMOK M65, at first these seemed to be a great device but then started getting battery issues, switched back to my BEC. Then came the EGO One, with an 2.5ml tank, this was ok, battery life again sucked and got it wet and wll that was the end of that. Then I discovered the KBOX Mini, well I figured that was the end of it for awhile, What a device. Swapping batteries was a breeze, one battery lasted all day. I could sub ohm and that was great till the leaks started. Bought another sub tank Mini still leaked. I bought a Sub Tank Nano, it just did not hold enough and still leaked. Purchased the Kangertech Plus, leaked. The Sub Box mini one day would not hold any of my tanks, I was so frustrated and decided to get a another MOD. I went with the EVIC VT (Black & Red) and a Aspire Atlantis. Great device, however I fished a lot and decided to also get the Heatvape Invader Mini, It is ok, battery life sucks but it is a good device other than that.

The question is am I the only one with this addiction?

Kangertech EVOD Kit = $85.00
Kangertech Aero Tank = $40.00
Kangertech EVOD Battery = $35.00
Aspire Premium Kit = $110.00
Apsire Nautilus= $60.00
SMOK BEC Pro 50W = $155.00
Joytech E-Grip = $60.00
SMOK M65 = $85.00
Joytech EGO One = $65.00
Joytech EGO One 2.5ml Tank = $25.00
Kangertech KBOX Mini = $99.00
Kangertech Sub Tank Mini = $40.00
Kangertech Sub Tank Nano = $30.00
Kangertech Sub Tank Plus = $60.00
Joytech Evic VT = $85.00
Heatvape Invader Mini = $99.00

Grand Total in Canadian = $1133.00 + Tax

This does not include coils, juice, extensions for tanks, covers for tanks, sleeves etc.

My wife would kill me if she knew!

I hear ya, I can't stop either, I say to myself, OK, next month I don't need anything but then I find myself at the online checkout, it's an illness lol and if I really don't need anything then I move on to juice concentrates instead, I can't stop.

Hahahahahaha! Same thought! Vaping is like a hobby to me

I spent tons of money initially. Always looking for the mod that hit harder, looked nicer, etc. Always trying to find the best juice. And then I switched to regulated and found a few vendors juices that I like. I spent 65 bucks on a mod a week ago,,, but it was the first one since April, and I only bought the one in april because I needed to replace the one I bought last november, as I lost it.
Now I am spending a manageable amount
Maybe...100$ a month?

I turned it into a hobby. At last count I had around 5k in gear. I have slowed down on tanks. Only stick with rta's and rda's for diy coil purposes. I have also slowed down on mods. Unless it looks cool or has a cool function. My main expenses are juice these days. I go through 4 30 mill bottles in a week. That's premium juice at almost 25 bucks a pop. I'm trying to save here and there for the stuff needed for diy juice. Smoking was way cheaper for me. But I wouldn't trade a year's worth of cigarettes for 3 months of juice.
