A 510 carto is about 2 mm longer than a 901 atomizer. Maybe a dedicated 510 native brass connector would be needed to use with the AFS? If there is an adapter needed on the brass connector to use 510, then the 510 carto would be too long for the AFS.

Oupsssss, thats a problem. I thought that 510 cartos were the same size as the 510 atomizers:(

In the land of no hills and red dirt
I'm just wondering what the deal is on the 510 cartos. I'm satisfied with the kr808, spares are cheap, they're easy to modify, and I've already got a dremel.

Prey tell, what's the advantage of the 510's? Do they vape better, last longer, give more taste, what?

I'm not trying to be a turd in the punchbowl, but am trying to conceive how this would be better, especially if I have to buy a new brass base piece and/or saw off the top 2mm of the new carto or buy another $16.00 plastic cap.

It's just something I wanted to bring up because nobody had mentioned it before. Definitely not as much flavour as a KR808 that's for sure. But, there is more throat hit.

I only bring this up because a lot of North Americans are infatuated with the 510 for some reason and would be another selling point to the AFS. I love the 901/KR808 and it's my favorite!!!

The advantage I see in using a 510 carto is that there is no hole to be drilled and I picked up 510 cartos from Eastmall for $.80 a piece. The disadvantage is less flavour and a special mouthpiece or removal of 2mm of metal. All in all, there is more advantages to the 901 carto IMHO, but, I'm just throwing an idea out there.

BoomBoom, do you use 6V and what is the ohm rating of those 510's? I know what you say about the preference of 510 atties for US customers, but is the 510 carto really the same in terms of vape? If the flavor is less, I would for sure go for the 901 turbo carts or when there will be higher ohm ratings on them they will be even better. Throat hit is enough right now with 12 MG, too much and the flavor becomes less I think. The making of the hole takes one minute and the carto lasts for days, no issue at all there I think. Anyways it is good to have differences, but for now I am holding on to this set-up like a junky in the Bronx!

the cartos you use are more than ok clyde. The Emonty's video shaw us that they are an exellent choice. Maybe 510 work good like the 901 cartos so no reason to try the 510.

Yes, but then also give us the option to choose what top cap for the AFS we can order: one longer one for the 510 or the regular one for the 901
The AFS on the TS is already big enough

510 cartos read 2.9-3.0 ohms. I don't have any KR808's to try to see if there is a difference in vapour production, flavour, TH etc. I can however compare them to a LR 901 and i6 with the AFS.

510 carto (6 volts) compared to an i6 on AFS

- more TH with 510 carto
- less flavour with 510 carto
- about the same vapour production. Maybe a little more with the 510 carto. Very negligible.

510 carto (6 volts) compared to LR 901 (3.7 volts) on AFS
- more TH with 510 carto
- less flavour with 510 carto
- more vapour with 510 carto at 6 volts

510 carto (3.7 volts) compared to i3 (3.7 volts) on AFS
- more TH with 510 carto
- less flavour with 510 carto
- way more vapour with 510 carto

Pretty much same comparison in traditional 510 vs. 901 atomizer comparisons. Traditionally, 510's = more TH and less flavour than 901's. Pretty much the same vapour production at higher voltage for each model. 510 has the vapour production edge at 3.7 volts.

Been using the same carto for over a week now and still going strong. The taste and throat hit are much better than the 901 IMHO. They simply work amazingly well in the AFS. I will be happy to try the 510 but for now I will stick to what is working well for me. And Emonty, I get the same kind of performance you are. Just watched the video and was matching your vapor production.
