So I started vaping a week ago, and am completely sold on it. I started with the V2 kit and tried all their cartos. Some are great, some aren't.
I love the style of the KR8s, but I would like more battery life. I am looking at the V2 long, which has 380mah, but at $25 a pop, they are expensive compared to everything else.
Are there any 380mah+ batteries out there that I can use my V2 chargers with and be safe? Or do I need to get a new USB charger? Or get the whole charging system? I currently have the wall charger, USB charger, and the car adapter for the V2.
FYI I want auto batteries please.
Thanks for any help you can give to this NOOB!

If you prefer an automatic battery, I am loving my Echo. I got mine at 1100mah from Northwest Vapors. It is an 808 and will fit your 808 stuff. There are a few suppliers who sell it, mainly in 650mah and 1300mah. As a surprise, the batteries were sealed! Just be careful- There is an echo-e that is for 510 stuff. If you do decide you want it, make sure it specifies 808 threads. happy hunting!

Elie 808, Halo G6, Echo @Northwest Vapors, @LiteCigUSA, Bloog......Got it. I will check these out. I have looked at the Bloog already, but the others are new to me.

@Morandir (sir) - Yes, I am a sir. :) I thought the V2 batts were Gen 2. Oops. Does Gen 1 vs Gen 2 just involve the voltage regulation, or does it also mean unsealed vs. sealed? Also, what happens if I did put a Gen 1 batt on a Gen 2 charger?

@Kemosabe - What makes one better than the other, in your opinion.

Thanks for all the responses.

the bloog is my favorite because of the 7 second cutoff, and the fact that its regulated. the Volt batts are regulated too, but they have a 5 second cutoff. the Bloogs have a longer battery life than the other two. the V2 is good, but being a gen 1, it comes off the charger at a higher voltage than the Bloog and Volt, this results in the juice having a marked different flavor. for some juice, this is great but for other more delicate jucie, it completely ruins the flavor. after the V2 uses some of its battery life, the flavor starts to level out. but the battery dies quicker so theres not a long window of optimum vaping. however, the V2 (i have a manual) has the longest cutoff of them all- i believe its 15 seconds. i dont remember because ive only hit the cutoff one time, and that was just to see if it even had one at all! you can rip some seriously beastly drags off the V2...especially at full charge. 0_o
but for the most part, i just want consistant drags, and consistant flavor. the extra battery life is a plus. but im not a super heavy vaper. i only go through 1 or 2 batts a day. maybe 3 on the weekends.

I also attempted to find the cut-off on my manual V2 and almost passed out. LOL

Thanks for the quick rundown. That helps immensely. I keep wondering why people trash the V2 here on ECF. I guess it's because there are superior products out there that cost less, but the V2 is still better than the other options that get most newbs i.e. Blu, GreenSmoke, etc.
I guess I will start exploring the more advanced options once I start running out of the 80 cartos I bought with my V2. Also looking to get some good juices to refill my empty cartos. They will pile up fast. :p Probably gonna start with Backwoods Brew. I have read the RY4 is truly something special.

Spaceballsrules sir they usually get trashed here on ecf because while they're kr808 batts, they charge more than they should for them. You could always try v4l's batts, they too are gen 1, but the king diamond and stealth series both do a great job of holding their voltage throughout their charge. The new manuals have higher mah than the originals (they haven't given hard data on it, but based off my run time tests they're in the 200-210mah range for a shorty, 305-315mah range for the regulars, and 405-415mah range for the xl's). The drawback is they are 8,9mm longer and you will want to get a different charger for them, but you can use them with your current cartos without issue.

correct, spaceballs. V2 gets bashed because theyre gen 1 batts that have a higher pice tag than most gen 2s (not that gen 1 is BAD, i just prefer gen 2). i got had by V2, but i chalk it up to a learning experience. and its true, at least V2 is better than greensmoke, blu, and the other overpriced ones.

excellent choice with Backwoods btw. you will not be disappointed.

How much drop off is there in voltage over the course of a single charge on the V2?

It's ALL a learning experience IMO. Considering that ecigs have only been around for a few years, the business, and the equipment, are bound to evolve, and that can be a long and painful process.

Spaceballsrules sir in the few I've tested it's faily quick. A 67mm batt with a 2.3 ohm carto from v4l (a wow carto) and chain vaping got the following-

4.19 (at start), 4.09 (9min), 3.91 (18min), 3.85 (27min), 3.78 (36min), 3.76 (45min), 3.72 (54min), 3.70 (63min), 3.67 (72min), 3.64 (81min), 3.62 (90min), 3.61 (99min), 3.53 (108min), after another 3 drags it flashed showing it was time to recharge.

Thank you very much, sir.

I ended up just getting a V2 Long and some more prefilled cartos. I am now turning my attention to an eGo-C. I like the idea of an isolated atty, a tank, and a fat batt. 650mah and e-juice, here I come!

Just remember Spaceballsrules sir egos come in at 3.2-3.4v depending on the manufacturer and have a stiffer draw in comparison to a kr808. :)

Good to know. Thank you, sir.

The reason I am now looking at the 510/eGo is the room it leaves for experimentation with different coil configurations and strengths(LR vs. SR), the options of tanks or cartos, and liquids with different PG/VG. It just seems that there are plenty of options to really customize the experience.
Then again, I might find that I quite enjoy the experience of just dealing with KR8's and various liquids. I am a transcendentalist by nature, and simplicity is key.
