Maybe someone can help me here.... For my next PV I want a box mod w/ variable voltage (don't care about VW really) that reads ohms and takes replaceable batteries (18650, etc). That's all. I wanna be able to adjust the voltage easily w/o using a screwdriver or opening the device and I want it to be durable like a silver bullet etc. I DO NOT want a provari btw so pls don't recommend that lol. Just want something like an iTaste w/ a little screen that reads ohms...is there anything like this out there?? Thx is advance for any help/

This lil guy is amazing! It's pulse width modulation so you'll vape at lower volts than normal, but I have had mine at least 6 months and it's the only pv I use now! I love it. It's plastic with rubbery stuff on it, but mine has held up great. The only problem I've had was the threads stripped, but just using a 510 ego adapter solved that. For some reason that stays screwed in when juice holders don't. I can't say enough good things about this mod and there are threads about it if you wanna read what others think about it.

That's what i was afraid of...ok. If i cant find something durable that can read ohms my next option would be a mechanical mod w/ VV. are there any out there besides the silver bullet w/ kick?

Just so you know, the kick isn't vv, it's vw. And a true mechanical mod has no wiring or chipset, hence cannot be vv (or vw without the kick). Mechanicals like the SB or the bolt have an electric switch, but thats it. 2 wires to connect the battery switch to the atomizer connection. Hope that helps some.

right ya i get that, a mech mod by definition is purely mechanical but i've seen mech mods w/ vv attachments like the kick which i think might be the way to go since im aiming for durability.

I've looked at that a lot but have read some not so great things about their reliability... tx for replies btw. I'll look into the gripper some more - its basically exactly what I want just concerned about their durability

Or you could also look at the Ovale (or is it Ovaie?) Segelei V8. Much like the Gripper with PWM VV, ohm checker and voltage meter. Uses 2 18350 (or 2 16340) batteries. Very sturdy, considering. I love my 5 month old Gripper and my V8. They're in top rotation now with me. Nothing else I have vapes better...and both of them surpass most of my APVs in performance.

Like Fourthrok, I have both the Gripper and the Ovale V8. The Ovale is a much better manufactured device than the Gripper, in my opinion.

My Gripper had a wobbly center connector. And although I didn't have issues with the battery door, it's construction leaves much to be desired. My three front panel buttons fell into the mod after 7 weeks of use, a week shy of finishing the 60 day warranty, so it has been exchanged for a new one. I love the form factor, but I couldn't recommend it to someone without warning them of it's weak points.

What about a vv Reo?

don't have the $ right now. ideally i'd like to spend $50 - $90 total. i'm pretty happy w. my spinner but wanna move to rba's and need an ohm meter so...looked at the vamo, lavatube, considered savin for a provari, gripper, bolt, silver buller w/ kick, smokebox, etc etc. gettin frustrating lol. just wanna find a durable mod w/ replaceable batts and an ohm meter...and vv...tx for all the replies, rly appreciate it. love this site :D

Could just buy a vamo and a wrap for it to suit your personal taste.

It looks a lot bigger in pics and vids than it really is .... especially if you have decent sized hands. The wrap will allow you to change the look and protect it from scratches as well.

I know its not the form factor you want but its probably your best bet based on the.features you want in that price range.

Hi darkhood,
The Smoktech Groove will be available soon. Edit: Is available. It is vv, vw, ohms check etc. It is like the Darwin or iTaste MVP in that it doesn't have a removeable battery. I'm going to get one to try it out.
Other than that if you want vv/vw, ohms check and battery check then at this stage the mods are tube mods - and there are quite a few of them. I'd suggest the Vamo because you can use it in shorty mode with an 18350 - so if not a box mod then a more compact vv/vw tube mod.

Get a Groove from Madvapes. If you're aiming for RBAs, then VW will suit you best, as you can dial your "heat" without even knowing whether you're at 1.5 or 3ohms. The Groove will read your resistance tho! It tells you remaining battery voltage, as well. Groove serves your VV desire, also.

If you're mechanically inclined, you can gut the Groove and transplant the circuit into a metal project box, too. That's what I'd do. I build mods tho.
