Am I the only one who doesn't think think the Provari is "all that"?

And all things considered ... the Provari really isn't terribly expensive. I mean ... there are MECHANICAL mods that cost way more than a Provari. Nothing but machined metal ... no electronics what so ever. Obviously it's still a "high-end" device at it's current price tag. But you'd be hard pressed to find more than a few people who have bought a Provari and felt it wasn't worth every single penny.

If you're on a slimmer budget though ... there are some GREAT alternatives out there that will provide just as good of a vaping experience. No different than anything else in life I guess.

You can get that Sony HDTV or you can grab the Vizio which is considerably cheaper. Both are going to let you watch the fooseball game. ;) You can grab that diamond ring, or grab the one that looks exactly the same, only it's a Cubic zirconia. Obviously the diamiond ring is going to have a higher resale value but they will both look the same.

That's fair enough. See, we can all get along. But if I had a Provari it would now be somewhere in Anaheim collecting dust in a corporate drawer. That's how careless I tend to be.

So the two reasons I see given here are: Ive got ADHD and I'm forgetful. Both of us those can be overcome instead of using them as a crutch or an excuse for not taking advantage of a damn good mod and increasing your chances of success in staying off cigarettes.

Regardless of whether you eventually buy a Provari or not, getting off cigarettes is only half the fight. At least in my experience, the other half is changing the way you think. Id be really careful about comments like the two made above because they sound self-defeating and I would hate to see either of you go back to analogs.

I actually have ADHD, I don't think it has anything to do with provari's though.

No worries about me going back to analogs - I'd quit before I did that :)
I'm in the exploratory phase of vaping though.. I like being able to buy many different mods for the cash that would be spent on a Provari.
Ecigs are still a very young niche and eventually someone is going to come out with a PV with as good a build as a Provari for less money. There is plenty of room to go around.
This is by no means the end :)

Haha, you may be a forum moderator (guess that makes you a mod), but I doubt you're qualified to pass medical judgement on anyone. Unless you're also a psychiatrist. Are you? Yeah... Anyway, I don't lose things as a matter of course; this situation occurred during a trade show where you're typically loaded down with junk, rushing from place to place, and somewhat distracted in general. If you took a poll of forum members and asked who among them have lost or misplaced tubes, batts, carts, etc., I'm guessing the percentages would be pretty high.

In any case, I've been smoke-free since 2009 so no matter what I use or lose it's pretty unlikely I'll ever go back to analogs. Even if I lose 20 Provaris. Which I won't.

November, 2011: With my V2 Cigs in hand, and being vaped happily, I first set eyes upon a ProVari. When I saw the price, and I thought,, "I'd have to be CRAZY!"

February, 2013: Geez. I could sell off my ProVaris and get 678 Slamma-Wammo-Lubes (fictionally exaggerated)! And I think, "I'd have to be CRAZY!"

I also like how the haters post the price of a provari @ 200 bucks when you can get a blem model for 140 or a new for 159

but,but ,but ,but then there are batteries ,chargers blah blah blah

seems the price of a provari goes up more every week ,but that is according to those don't\won't own one

Which Provari is that in your icon photo? I really want it! Where's the readout? Other side?

Just kidding, lol
What I don't get is folks who look down on other folks because they don't have/don't want a Provari.

I have a gripper vv a gs vv lavatube and provari. The gripper button doesn't fire all the time the lavatube button is hit or miss, both six months old or less the provari button after two years still hits every time

I know what you're saying. I own the same VV Gripper. I bought it for use for when I am away from home. The Provari was getting a little hefty to carry everywhere, and I was getting frustrated of it rolling out of my reach when I laid it down on the passenger seat of my car. I'd begun to bring my little BB with me for quick runs to the store, but I missed the variable voltage. I really wanted a Mini Provari, but I couldn't rationalize the expense at the time.

I had always wanted to try a box mod, so I got the Smoktech VV Gripper. I knew about its shortcomings going in. A wonky connecter and battery door and the PWM thing. I was really liking the form factor for what I had chosen it for. Lightweight, pocketable, didn't roll away from me on the passenger seat. ;)

Well, only 7 weeks in and the front buttons, all three of them, fell into the casing. Luckily this occured with a week remaining on the 60 day warranty, so its been exchanged for a new one. But it cost me $50 (they go for $30 now), and I expected to get at least 6 months out of it. At least I have the security to know that my Provari will always work as I expect it to.

Yeah, except V2 cost me 80 bucks a month in carts and something like 140 bucks for the kit I got. It's not an economical way to go about it.

It's not cheap. 140 is only for a satin blem, if you want the extension (which most people do as far as I can tell), it's another 20 dollars then it snowballs from there. If you don't already have the batteries and charger, it's an easy 200 dollars to get setup. It's easy enough to hit 200 dollars without the charger too. I mean if you get a normal provari and no extension, do most people have 18490's laying around? Two of those and you just added what...20 dollars or so anyway.

So to pretend you can start out with or go from a stick battery or ego to a provari for 140 is a joke. That's literally only if you want a satin blem and have everything else.

That's not saying it's not worth the money, though that is relative to what somebody wants as opposed to what people think they should want, it's just that it is a good bit of money for some people.

I ordered a satin black v2 blue led with extension because if I am spending 140 to get something that is not quite what I want, 200 to get exactly what I want makes more sense. I'd honestly advise anyone considering a blem but wanting a specific color not available as such to just spend the cash or wait/save to get exactly the one they want. If you don't have a particular color or style you want, blem away.

I would cop a provari but im not too thrilled about one button operation. If there's one thing a company can do to win alot of peoples hearts is to offer superb CS and really good QC of their products. The option to be able tto send back your mod to get it fixed is always a plus.

I however went a different route and bought the lavatube version 2 from volcano ecigs. The aesthetics and safety they went with their mod caught my eye aas well as the warranty from manufacturer defects.

Just checked out the Provari subforum to see what all the fuss is about. Wow, what a cult! Somewhere between the Summer of Love and Jonestown, I think. I've tried these things, and while they're undeniably nice units, imho they really don't vape any better than my old LT 1.0. Sure, build quality, yada yada, but actual performance? In real life? Could someone tell me what I'm missing so I can finally drink the kool-aid?
I got what I expected with the Provari ... heavy, durable, well-built and functioning really well, but I most certainly can't relate to the cult-mindset about them. In terms of practical everyday usage, I don't find it quite as user friendly as some other PVs, and the Provari would not be my first choice if I had to choose. It has many desirable features, but is also missing very important ones I require.

I'm glad I have it, but only use it some of the time.

The difference between Clearos and Genny RBAs is day and night, the PVs not so much so.
