Hi all
Was watching the local news here in San Diego when they just reported about a mod blowing up.....the man vaping it got several deep cuts and second degree burns to his face and hand..
They further stated the FDA is cracking down with regulations as soon as April of this year..was wondering if any of you guys out there have heard anything about these regulations, as this was my first time hearing about any FDA regulations...thx!

These are the kinda stories that will eventually ruin the vaping world. All these stupid "cloud chasing" competitions and events. What the hell ever happened to using vaping as an alternative to smoking? Pumping tons of vapor into your body, ultimately to show off and 'out-do' other people? What a joke. Just a bunch of losers.

I personally have no problem with people wanting to blow huge clouds at home, but I don't understand why it has to be an event. I feel like the competitions encourage people who don't know what they are doing to purchase mech mods without learning proper battery safety. It is definitely something that I feels hurts all vapers. Bad publicity is something none of us need.

This^^

Even when they 'know better' they'll push the boundaries of safety to be competitive. These types of incidents even make ME wonder if SOME regulation isn't necessary. Imagine what they do for non-vapers. You can't fix 'stupid' and I'm all for letting evolution run its course but maybe mechanicals simply pose too much danger.

Good point..I think mechs are loosing ground anyway with all the high powered regulated mods coming out recently..still can sub ohm vape, but alot safer with shorted atomiser and batt protection..[emoji39]

I personally do not mind race car drivers wanting to drive faster than the other nutcases in a little circle, some get hurt or worse. It is their choice.

I do not mind skateboarders wanting to do flips higher than the other skateboarders, some get hurt or worse. It is their choice.

I do not mind that people want to jump off of stupidly low structures for parachuting, some get hurt or worse. It is their choice.

I do not mind that people want to blow bigger clouds than others, some get hurt, very few. It really is their choice.

People here and other vaping sites complain about people cloud chasing wanting to regulate how they vape, when you scoff at these cloud chasers and state how stupid it is and that they shouldn't....

Hey, guess what, you just became part of the regulatory party.

/non-cloud blowing flavor chaser who sometimes safely volume vapes. It really is my choice.

Box mods were all the rage a while back, a way to get MOAR POWER to a cartomizer or atty. Then came mechs with big batteries. Box's will probably be a big thing for a year or two then maybe spherical vaping devices, then tubes, then boxes, maybe even cigalikes will come back in style. :) Who knows, maybe even backpack power units, wouldn't that be grand.
