Kind of like "VapeBlast" being the first place I've heard of an exploding mod... tragic name... Didnt change it though!! VapeBlast in March in Dallas/FtWorth! lol

First mod explosion I heard of was the guy in Florida in 2012. One week before HB 245 went to the Senate floor here in Utah.
    and we were toast!

Now once again we have a mod explosion just as even more e-cig regs are being heard here in Utah

I Don't want to EVER see anyone get Hurt when a Battery Fails (well... Maybe the Rag Man - but not Too Seriously).

But if any Good can come out of a Mod Blowing up, then it is to Remind People that a Mod that Can't Vent can be Very Dangerous.

He is using a 10 battery unit these days..

    Wow.

Obvious to me all mech mods are inherently dangerous to society.

They need to be well regulated by our government.
With background checks done on both mech mod and battery purchasers.
3 day waiting periods of course.
Crack down on these black market and unregistered batteries & mods coming from China.
Medical practitioners should be able to interrogate you, and report your battery proclivities to the government agencies of course.
Schools & govt buildings will be no-vaping zones.
Shops should put signs in their windows indicating either vaping free zones, or responsible mod users welcomed.
Each state should regulate by their own laws, with mod-carry permits different in each state of course.
Some will be open carry mech mod states, others concealed mods, and several nanny states just about impossible to get a legal permit.

    Yea, that'll work. :p

I guess I never thought about it that way. The dummies do make the laws!

    Well that Narrows it Down.
    Yeah, I know.

He said he had no idea what it was.

He said the clerk bought it online and that he had never seen anything like that before.
That also doesn't narrow it down very much either.

But I'm guessing that MIGHT mean it wasn't an eGo type setup.
Although given that this is Ramona, which is sort of far away and a bit isolated, that's just speculation on my part.

You can cloud case while respecting the batteries continuous amp rating... maybe they arent the biggest clouds on the block... but I find a .2-.3ohm coil with 24ga satisfying.. using 30amp batteries (Authentic VTC5s from RTD - a few months old obviously).

    Exactly this^^^
I love love LOVE my mech and duals coming in between .20-.40. Yeah it puts off tons of vapor but I'm not building for visual clouds, im building for satisfaction and flavor so thick you can chew on it. The clouds are just a necessary by-product

I find blowing large clouds satisfying... Dont do it all the time, but occasionally I like giant obnoxious clouds... but where appropriate, not in church, at the playground, in the grocery store... etc

I think that would be a Reasonable Assumption.

If for Nothing else, the Fact that it is 2015. And More and More People are Starting Off with a 18650 type Mod. And Never even buy an eGo Class PV.

It's been my experience that a large majority of people still start with egos... I try to get people to start with an MVP or iStick as they dont have to learn as much about battery safety, which adds a lot to the learning curve. Its also a better vape and has much more capacity than the ego's.

You very well could be Right.

But from the Little I know about what happened in Ramona, which Isn't much more that what people have read about on the Internet, I think that it was a Mod that had a Removable 18650 Battery.

But I could Most Certainly be Wrong.

Hopefully someone will come forward and fill in some of the Blanks that we are All looking at with the Initial Reports.

So I called the Ramona substation for the San Diego County Sherriff's Department and the guy I spoke with said he wasn't aware of the incident.
He said it does not appear that their department responded, and they are not involved in any investigation.

    I find that somewhat shocking.

It appears that maybe it was only CAL FIRE that responded, and so I called their Ramona station.
The guy I spoke with was aware of the incident but said he was not aware of any investigation that was underway.

He said I would need to speak with CAL FIRE Captain Kendal Bortisser who was quoted in the Fox 5 News story.
    He took my phone number.

I believe that Ramona is still an Unincorporated Community.

But since there was No Apparent Criminal Activity, I wouldn't be surprised if the Sheriff's Department wasn't Actively Involved.

Sometimes it depends on Who called Whom. And How Busy someone like the Sheriffs Department is at the time.

And I think the Sheriffs Department is Stretched Pretty thin in that Neck of the Woods.
