Noir, all time favorite, Madlax was good too.

Scrapped Princess

Witch Hunter Robin

Trigun

Hellsing

Elfin Lied (This was really, really good, you had to watch the whole thing for it to pull together though)

Beserk

Irresponsible Captain Tyler and Excel Saga were funny as hell along with Full Metal Panic and Geobreeders.

Chrno Crusade

We can't forget Serial Experiments Lain

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Then there was the ./ dot hack series

Bleach was OK

Gankutsuou was awesome.

Then there is the classic Ghost in the Shell's which are older but had amazing insight into future tech...

Wait, was this supposed to be just 5? I need to stop typing....I don't think I could do just 5 :)

oh, wait, Cowboy Bebop :)

3. Chrno Crusade - a bit older, but i was very impressed
4. Fullmetal Alchemist - BrotherHood (remake closer to the actual manga)
5. Bleach - hasnt really done much for me sice the first arc

1. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - pretty realistic animation and violence - I like the viable new technology they created with the internet evolving to the point where most people will have cybernetic connections/optimizations
2. Gungrave - the best mafia anime period.
3. Boogiepop Phantom - this is the darkest anime I've seen
4. Serial Experiments Lain - about the world and the internet merging
5. Neon Genesis Evangelion - just something to waste time with

this is somewhate offtopic - but does anyone here listen to yui? she has a few songs for anime op's - i downloaded her albums and i'm obsessed, it's even helped me with my learning japanese :)

and i want to marry her...

Check out Yuki Kajiura, she is very good. She did Noir, Madlax, .hack//, Tsubasa Chronicle, Le Portrait De Petit Cossette (Which was awesome) and a bunch of other stuff. Really amazing work. Pretty hot too :)

Shikabon hime (sp) is one of my all time favs I do NOT know why.

OK Naruto is going to go ape**** insane when he finds out his mentor is dead. Let alone the Hoakge, I foresee a double team buttwhooping battle royal for revenge on the horizon.
DUDE!!! I know right. It's gonna get blood real fast.
I really don't think 9 tails will be contained for very much longer.
