I resemble this remark. I too was a roll your own and buying the best of the best (Peter Stokebyes Danish Blend and Beretta tubes) cost me about 88 bucks a month. 2 carton a week smoker.

Well, perusing these posts/threads, I've kinda made friends and tend to agree with opinions on these forums with the likes of Billbeckusa, Thrasher, Ocelot and Baditude....and I find myself playing "catch up". I know that an ego and a protank/evod/dripper is just fine and its all I really need, but its just in my personality to give everything a try for myself and its costing me a bunch of money.

But you know what? I don't care and I am enjoying it. I'm getting healthier every day and am able to help give other newbies advice when I can. And one of the best parts is meeting all of you folks here.

I guess what I'm saying is..... its money well spent any way I look at it.

Wow, how cool, TB. I used to MYO also. Smoked a really good oriental called Ramback Balkan. Gizeh "Charbon" charcoal filter tubes. JD

I like this number. I thought about $50 earlier today, and I'm not sure that would be enough until I get into the DIY world. $70 is about 1/3 what I would spend on cigarettes, so that seems like a fair number to shoot for.

Really nice idea. If I spent half of what I spent on smokes, that would be about $75 per month. At best, that would be about four (4) 30ml bottles of juice per month. Hmmmm. That could be difficult. And, what if they come out with some more cool tanks, or a new mod that really catches my eye? Oh hell, like the man said, "you never see a hearse pulling a U-Haul. :2cool: JD

One of the side benefits of not smoking regular cigs, to me, was the potential to save money. I actually DID budget for my analogs, and seeing the incredible amount I was spending was additional motivation to switch to vaping. I don't have a vaping budget, but I estimate I've spent around $600 in two years of vaping.

How? I can be hardheaded. I used plain old refillable cartridges for over a year on my egos, (never bought new ones, just the ones that came in my starter kit), then used the eGo T tanks for over a year. I've cleaned the same atomizers out (one at least a hundred times) and refused to stop using one until it flat out broke. I've always maintained only two set ups at once - one for ADV and one for whatever else I'm in the mood for. If I filled it, I vaped it all. I found about 4 liquids I liked soon after starting and have vaped them pretty much exclusively for over two years.

I just recently upgraded my equipment and am in the process of 'auditioning' new juices. But, I do my best to resist the urge to get caught up in the hype. Often, that means I have to stay away from ECF for months at a time. I just recently (3 weeks ago) upgraded my set up to two Protanks (and coming from ego tanks, it's like walking through the pearly gates.) Once I try a couple more juices based on recommendations from here, I may just fade away again for a while. I have enough expensive hobbies as it is!

I've been vaping for 2 months. Spent about $250 during that time which is what I usually spent on analogs (pack/3 days). During that time, I've gathered an SVD, Evic, two Ego twists, a large handful of EVODs, Protanks and RDAs, kanthal wire and rebuilding tools. I've even dedicated part of a tool cabinet to the vaping hobby. Aside from juices which I only seem to vape ~2mg/day, I don't see me spending too much more $$ for a while. Was hoping to get to this point of equipment bliss.

Now don't anybody go messing that up with new reviews or recommendations :)

I've been very fortunate. I haven't HAD any money to spend on vaping aside from my initial setup and juice. Now, when I get paid next week... whoa boy. I could be in trouble. I know I'm picking up a few more clearomizers, another battery or two, and JUICE JUICE JUICE.

I was spending about $150-$175 a month on analogs (depending on how much I smoked, if I got coupons, sales, etc), before the newest "sin tax" here in Minnesota came down on July 1. You're hard pressed to find a pack of coffin nails in MN for less than $7 now... that's over $200 a month. I highly doubt I'll ever spend that much on juice even if I start chain vaping 0mg for the flavor.

The cost is in the toys. It's all about what you want for your experience. If you're ok driving around in a Kia, your car payment is cheap. If you want to drive a BMW, it's likely not.

I spend $10 a month to vape now, a CE5 replacement coil or new CE4 ($1.30) from fasttec, and a 50 ML bottle of juice for $$7.49 from Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor.....I use to spend $540 a month for 6 cartons of Marlboros monthly in Massachusetts unless I went to the military base and paid $68 a carton , $410 a month....that $400-$530 a month I save, allows me to buy houses and flip em, and recently a new sports bar...and some new chrome for my bikes..

My budget is 1/3 of what I spent on smokes, so about $20~ per month. I started in late May and broke even the middle of July from my initial purchases. I only vape about 20ml per month @ $6 /30ml so I'm doing it on the cheap (aka FT).

If it's your hobby and you enjoy spending loads of money on equipment and fancy juices that's great. I'm the opposite. As I've said before, the biggest reason I made the switch was to save money, not make it another hobby.

I was smoking cheap filtered cigars, so about $50/month when I smoked. Cheap!

In 3 months, I've spent a few hundred on "stuff". But part of that "stuff" included DIY supplies for juice, and I've blended a couple of recipes that work as ADVs, so I'm good on juice for at least a few months, especially since I'm lowering my nic level.

I have several clearos (along with replacement heads)and batteries so I should be good for awhile. I am going to make a very determined effort to spend less than $25/month on vaping from now on. I'm a fasttech fiend, so that should be do-able. My last order of $23 was placed on July 21, so I have to wait 19 more days until I make another order!

Most of my vaping funds have come from stuff I've sold on e-bay. The money was just kinda sitting in my PayPal account, so it didn't cut into my regular bank account. I really need to put up more stuff on e-bay, it was a small but easy source of "fun money".

I am limiting myself. I cannot buy anything for SIX months! Except cartos. I am happy with what I have, my hubby is about to call Intervention! I can use my card again for groceries and start saving cash! Mama wants a new car! Ya know, you never realize how much money you make until you stop spending it on cigarettes!
