Sorry for creating such a stink. My gal & I just split up & I have been less than eloquent lately. . Apologies again.

Im not someone who drank tye antz kool aid. I assure you ive never been afraid to think for myself.

In general nicotine isnt good for us bc of the health risks that it presents. There are exceptions where nicotine can be good for a person if they have certain medical issues. But for the vast majority of the populace nicotines risks outweigh its benefits.

That being said.. vaping juices that contain nicotine is so much less unhealthy than smoking cigarettes that it really is the lesser of the two evils..

And I love nicotine! Especially when I get stressed. Eventually id like to move to 0mg juices.. but if I cant im fine w that. . And I dont plan to quit vaping. .. its just so cool!

So again im sorry for creating a fuss.

Do you think nicotine presents more health risks than caffeine?

What "health risks" please?
This is a collection of things from the vaping side: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/265539-safety-long-term-nicotine-use.html
With this link especially worth reading: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...sition-e-cigarettes-health-risk-analysis.html

And this is a statement by the the FDA itself :) Nicotine Replacement Therapy Labels May Change

I dont think nic or caffeine are healthy. . And tbh I dont propose living some life devoid of all health risks. Im personal ly proud of each & everyone who quit using tobacco.

But there are health risks.

We all know (or should) that high doses of nicotine can be fatal.. but we can easily avoid that w common sense & following safety precautions when handling high nic solutions.

But in low doses nic is a stimulant & thus potentially can create problems associated w stimulant use. Like higher BP. Increased heart rate & possible stress to tje heart.. but to be nicotine specific. ..
Nicotine increases blood pressure and heart rate in humans.[53].Nicotine can also induce potentially atherogenic genes in human coronary artery endothelial cells.[54]Microvascular injury can result through its action on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs).[55]A study on rats showed that nicotine exposure abolishes the beneficial and protective effects of estrogen on the hippocampus,[56].an estrogen-sensitive region of the brain involved in memory formation and retention.

Thats from the side effects section on the nicotine wiki..

Many things in life aren't healthy for us depending on certain factors. Heck sunlight is a known carcinogen but we need it to process vitamin d. Everything in moderation I guess.

The only point I wanted to make is that nicotine is not a benign substance.

But it sure is a lot better than smoking analogs.

Edited to add I am not trying to troll here.. and I have an open mind to this. Im on yalls side.. really.. id love to believe that nic is benign.. but the data ive come across prevents me from doing so.

I can has tapatalked this.

Wiki isn't a good place for nicotine information. Last time I was there almost everything they had was about smoking claimed to be about nicotine.

Nicotine is about like caffeine. Bad if you have heart/blood issues, not that big of a worry if you don't.

Agreed w the last bit.

Its not that bad for you. But its not benign...

So if its not benign its not healthy for you to use.. which is why I said its not good for you (but should have specified from a medical/physical health standpoint.)

It certainly can be good for alleviating stress and psychologically.

Essentially we agree w each other & are arguing over semantics.

I for one will quit beating a dead horse and again apologize about my snarky comment.

Lets have a vape and be friends.

I'm a firm believer that nicotine itself is not the horrible substance we'd been led to believe. The facts just don't prove that to be true. So many of the negative things written about nicotine aren't about nicotine itself but about smoking. Unfortunately the words smoking and nicotine have often become synonyms which they are NOT. Depending on all the information about a person it certainly CAN be something some people should limit or avoid, but for most people its not a horrible substance for their well being.

One thing that I've learned through my years of vaping is that for many of us, our perspectives do change with time. I didn't plan to totally quit smoking when I purchased my first ecig, but once I started vaping I quickly totally stopped smoking. I decided to attempt to lower my nicotine usage (I wasn't trying to go to 0 mg just lower from using 20 mg to 6 mg) only because of the court battle at the time which if the FDA had won would have shut down the ecig industry. My stored nic would last a lot longer if I was using 6mg then using 20 mg. The FDA lost that court battle, but to my great surprise I lost my addiction to nicotine after vaping for only 4 months. I would have sworn at the time I'd continue to vape forever and have for over 3 years since not being addicted to nic. I do sometimes choose to use nicotine, very much the same as I sometimes choose to drink regular coffee even though most often I drink decafe coffee and vape 0 mg juice. I recently went on a two week vacation and realized when I returned home that I had vaped very little while I was away. It made me realize how easily I could walk away from vaping which is something I never thought I'd say. I have no idea if I'll ever stop vaping, only time will tell but now I'm guessing that there will come a day I do decide to walk away from vaping because it just don't interest me anymore.

I plan to start cutting my nic down this fall, and have a goal of being able to stop vaping by summer 2015.

I'll have had the opportunity of having been able to vape at its peak, before all of the crazy taxes come into play... Which is pretty cool.

Perhaps if we actually abandon nicotine collectively, the next tax grab will spread out to enough people, that it will no longer be tolerated by the masses.

Yes, I know. Naive to even hope enough people could have the willpower/vision/desire to make it worthwhile, and cooperatively stick it to the politicians...But, a man's gotta have dreams. ;)

Require caffeine to function properly as I have experienced the negative effects without it. New to vaping but already noticing how lost I sometimes feel which I take for a nic craving. Have known quite a few people I actually liked moreso as smokers than the colossal a-holes they became as ex-smokers. No...I like where I am currently at 18mg and @ +/-4ml's a day. And if my intake falls it will be my body telling me to back off a bit.
