Anyone ever given you the stinkeye or rude comments in public while vaping?

Happends to me every day, here in Sweden, Stockholm electronic cigarettes is quite new.
Most people don't know what it is. This summer I have only seen like two others vaping even if it's swedens capital city with a lot of people always around you.

Use to vape while I'm waiting for the train to get home from work.
Some use to stare at me like I'm doing some kind of heavy drugs.

One man came to me and asked for a cigarette, until he saw my EGO.
Then he looked strange at me and asked, what is that?

When I was using a bigger mod, one man said "cool water pipe" :)

At work they asked me what is that, then I said it's my light sabre
Another coworker thought my EGO was a insulin pen :)

At a party at work my boss told me to quit what I where doing, "It's looking suspect". Herself was smoking a Cigar.

The "fake cough" always irritated me all of the years I smoked, its as much a deception as bruising yourself and then claiming that someone hit you, a cheap and tawdry trick to gain dominance and undeserved sympathy ...

Personally, I can't imagine myself challenging any non-violent behavior of another human being in public, its crude and childish ...

We all have the option of distancing ourselves from anything that disturbs us in a public setting, and that includes rude behavior by power-trippers ...

Oh the fake hacking/coughing... that's the worst! Haha.

I was in the mall last week and a lady had a little shop set up. She didn't have much, just a few blingy batteries, EVOD tanks, and 1 kind of juice in 12 and 24mg.

She was demostrating to a walker-by but wasn't getting much vapor. I pulled out my spinner (not the best, but I like it) with my protank and some Nicoticket Betelguese and started vaping.

(cue "Battle of the Banjos" here) She would vape, I would blow plumes, she vaped, I plumed. This went on for a little while and we were getting lots of stink eyes. Then a few people started gathering around, then a few more. They started asking questions and when I left, the lady was happily ringing up sales.
I think she will be expanding her inventory soon. Gotta love the small businesses!

Sweet! :toast:

I vape in public regardless of the looks I get. I already get the stink eye often enough because Im a young female truck driver and there are a lot of guys who think I should be home raising the kids. But I don't take crap from anyone and they leave me alone. N the opposite hand, I have had several drivers come up to me asking about vaping and if it's like Blu. I had Blus before and tell them this blows Blu out of the park. In one week, Ive converted 3 people. One guy is going to ditch the Blus for a real vaping experience. And I also converted my mum and one of m best friends/another driver frm analogs!

That is so so so wrong. It's you should be at home, raising kids, cleaning and cooking for your man. Tell those ignorant fools to get it right.

I get the stink eye from my husband sometimes because he claims my vapor (mostly desserts/sweets & coffee) literally "stink up the room" (his words) - while he's smoking and I can actually see it hang in the air (my vapor doesn't hang out, it falls quickly because the molecules are heavier than air). Really???

I don't really vape where I'm not allowed to smoke (at least not when anyone's around to see it) just because I don't want to deal with the potential hassle, so the only other people who showed any kind of disapproval were the hospital staff (nurses, aides, etc.) while I was recently hospitalized for a week and vaped in my room. I tried to keep it on the down/low as much as possible and not do it too much or just before I knew it was likely someone would be coming in but I could see in their faces that they could still sometimes smell the different scents of my different flavors and looked at me suspiciously, clearly having no idea whatsoever what was creating it and having that look of pondering on their faces - like they wanted to say something but couldn't figure out exactly what.
