I found that instead of o-ring, I slip a 1/8" wide band cut from a carto condom over the bottom of the atty and then screw it onto the Reo. It seals the whole catch cup and prevents pocket lint from gathering there.

No idea on the bits. If they have them, I'd go with 1mm and then start enlarging the hole with a dremel until you're happy. A lot of people seem to like 1/16" airhole, though

Great Idea!

Good advice on the air hole. I drilled mine to .0453" (1.15mm) and was afraid to go to .050" because it is a significant increase.
The draw at .0453" seems to be about the same as a 357. I have read that 1/16" (.063") is super airy. It's best to start small and work up.

I ordered up a package of 10 X 12 mm & 10 X 13 mm buna-n o-rings for the base (10 X 12 mm is what Rob sells for the Reomizer) and two 1-mm cobalt bits. The o-rings come 100 to a pack, so I should have enough to get me by for a while :). All of this for only $25 from Grainger. Thank for your help guys! I'll never go back to disposable atomizers again after using rba'a. Hopefully a good seal at the base, stabilization of my center pin, and the right size air hole will transform my A-7 into a keeper. If not, I have a reomizer as a spare...

I sanded down a wooden dowel to fit inside my A7 cover, then clamped the dowel into a bench-vise. This allowed me to center punch and drill the air hole without deforming the cover. This dowel technique worked Great!

Then I cut a thin strip of plastic (from a PET juice bottle) and used the material to wrap / insulate my bottom pin. I sealed the base of the A7 to my Reo using a bunna-n 10 X 12 mm o-ring, then used a 10 X 13 mm o-ring between the base and the cover, so I could adjust the cover in relationship to the coil. I Put a carto condom over a portion of the air hole to cut back on air flow a bit and it works great! Thanks for all of the suggestions

You don't need the o ring between the top and bottom to align the airhole with the coil, just rotate the guts. If you want to have an adjustable airflow...cut a small piece of beer can, put a curve into it to match the tops inner side and slip it inside the A7 top (if you make it right it'll almost snap in and ride on the inner step of where it's threaded, almost serendipitous that that step is there, by design?)...rotate the beer can piece to incrementally obscure the airhole to suit...I swear with a few mods this thing is close to one of the best bf rba's out there...

I got a black A7 a few days ago and it's a mess! The cap sorta screeches when I screw/unscrew it, so it's difficult to do, and when I squonk the juice 90% of it comes out thru the catchcup.
When I took out the pre installed coil set up the whole post turned.
I didn't mind that so much juice went in the catch cup with the other A7's I have, but this situation is ridiculous!

These RBA's aren't worth it, even if they are inexpensive.

Now I have to hunt up the receipt ans send this junk back...

They take a bit of fiddling with, like Quigsworth said. After the said fiddling, they become one of the best RBAs. The low price (in my mind) justifies the need for fiddling. The fact that they are made out of real grown-up stainless steel and that you can unscrew the top to replace wick without taking it off the mod are very nice.

In your case seems like you need two things:

1. Tighten the post with needlenose pliers
2. Either take a dry (without pushing the fire button) pull while squonking, or drill a side airhole in the A7 and seal the bottom of it to the catch cup with an o-ring or part of a carto condom.

I will admit, these are definitely a modders device, they really don't work very well out of the bag...the folks that make these things are doing themselves a great dis-service selling them like as they are...the bottom air, the gurgle, the drip cup flood, that what ever it is coil/wick they stick in there (like you're gonna vape that thing right out of the bag with it all covered in machine oil?)...pffft...but take it apart tweak it a bit and put it back together properly?

Sorry scott, but this time I'm not over squonking, lol and it doesn't flood, the juice barely goes inside, just spurts up in the catch cup...and the damn threads are so rough i can barely screw/unscrew it.
This particular A7 is junk.

I suppose A7's are fine for the tinkerers, but for someone who wants...needs...an RBA that doesn't require tinkering, these aren't for me.

none of my A7s are modded the only thing i had to do to get it to work properly is tighten the posts and adjust the center pin so it makes contact a good atty IMHO

Scott, I already had 3 of them and the only issue was flooding sometimes. These two i got because they were black. I'm thinking the suppliers did a rush job on them, that's why mine has so many flaws.

That is absolutely understandable. I'm the opposite -- I shouldn't be allowed near expensive things that already work, cause I will tinker with them regardless of whether or not they need it :)
