Finally got my A7...yanked the stock coil/wick and built a 3.5mm silica "S" wick with a 1.5 coil (just used 32 this time, will work the 30 or 28 in later)...it's on my Grand with an o-ring to seal off bottom air from the outside world (no more drip cup leak, no more gurgle)...I marked the center of the posts on the base face, screwed on the cap, marked it, put it in the drillpress vice and after 4 #68 (about .78mm) drill bits, drilled an airhole in the the cap about 1mm up from where the threads stop and the shiny begins...btw, yup, she's stainless

...draw was too tight, I have since gone up to a #60 (just over 1mm)...way better but I like a stock Zen cap...
Seeing as a lot are noting that these are a budget ERA here's how I think they compare, but first let me state...drilling the cap for an airhole is difficult, the cap is thin so you don't have much to drill but it's easily put out of round with your vice (don't even think about doing it without a vice), this is without a doubt stainless, not a big fan of drilling SS, this reminded me why, any ways...because of the larger size of the vape chamber, the A7 isn't as "in your face" as the ERA's can be, the A7 has a little more space for the vape to swirl around and cool. The bottom well of the A7 affords you a little less "flood" than the ERA's, seems once the juice is at the level of the top of the feed tube, any excess gets sucked back into the Grands bottle (good thing IMO)...the coil stays up out of the pool, where as on the ERA's, your coil and feed hole are about level, you can submerge the coil in an ERA (not necessarily a bad thing but you need to cook excess juice off before you get a good vape again), oh, and the adjustable center pin is a nice touch (helps with the o ring thing)...now the bad of the A7...what's with those posts??? could they be a little bigger???...totally screws you up for many possible wick/coil configurations (I wanted to put the face of the coil right at the airhole like I do with the ERA's...I have yet to pull it off, sure the coil goes there fine, how do I run my wick past those humongous posts with little gap between them and the well wall....but that's about all I have as far as grippes, over-all the A7 is fine, it's not amazing but it vapes surprisingly well for $25 (I did try it first on bottom air, works good but the first time my hand was covered in juice...time to mod)...if you're a careful squonker and don't mind a lot of gurgle, you could do a lot worse than the A7, if you have the guns to drill the cap for side air you are just that much farther ahead...
