While I think thats hilarious!!!!!!! I have to admit to being very satisfied with the A7 and the way it vapes... althoug I do wish it was a little shorter.

Its funny because its true. I absolutely hated the A7. It just wasn't for me. I have several other rba's that I love.

On page 12 of this thread, iKN0WaGH0ST mentioned not getting good vapor and a very strong TH. The first coil I built was directly over the air hole. The second one is off to the side, but still right next to it. I'm getting the same performance from both setups. VERY strong TH, and about 1/4 of the vapor that I'm used to. I'm also getting this metalic/fishy taste. Not strong, but it's there and bugs me that a carto tastes better. I completely dissasembled it and cleaned in rubbing alcohol. Has anyone experienced this? Where should I put my coil?? And what am I tasting? First coil measured 1.9ohms. Second measured 1.3-1.4

Also, it's getting me a little light headed. I have used super shorty 1.7s for several months and loved them, but the A7 is kicking my .... Making me cough from the TH. I know it's nothing in my juice bc it's the same that I've been using in the cartos

Are your getting your wick and coil wet enough? I know if I let it get too dry that I can get a hot, hot vape. Just a thought. Have you dropped some juice directly on to the coil and the vaped to see if that makes a difference? I'm using lots of 2.5 gauge silica in mine and I only experience a real hot throat hit when I haven't vaped in a while.

Stock = the one it came with. I did the same thing....didn't like the one it came with, but when I wrapped my own coil and installed it, wow. I'm really liking it....and for the price, I really, REALLY like it. I have the Chalice II, the ERA, and an A7. I like the Chalice best, but the other two are almost as good. For the price, I think the A7 is a pretty decent little rebuildable. I agree with those who say it's too tall...I don't see any reason for all that "head" space in it. But...oh, well. Can't wait to get hold of one of the ones Rob will have.

To me this sounds like insufficient airflow over/through the coil + too WET of a vape

If you scroll up and look at my pic, the one with SS mesh, i get smooth throat hit, and a very good amount of vapor.

nothing special about its positioning, you're overthinking it, and putting it way too close to the air hole... keep wick centred, and raise it up higher.

and what's this page 12 stuff.... im still on page 4

I think that's it, too close means blocked air and hot wet vape with plenty of lightheadedness and more atomizing than vaporizing (e.g. spraying nic into your mouth)

I think the pg. 12 business is a page settings issue in preferences :)

I should just say this here, the A7 with a drilled out side hole works exactly like the ERA, maybe slightly inferior feeding but if you use VG like me then you're used to be patient with the squonky tonk

Finally got my A7...yanked the stock coil/wick and built a 3.5mm silica "S" wick with a 1.5 coil (just used 32 this time, will work the 30 or 28 in later)...it's on my Grand with an o-ring to seal off bottom air from the outside world (no more drip cup leak, no more gurgle)...I marked the center of the posts on the base face, screwed on the cap, marked it, put it in the drillpress vice and after 4 #68 (about .78mm) drill bits, drilled an airhole in the the cap about 1mm up from where the threads stop and the shiny begins...btw, yup, she's stainless ...draw was too tight, I have since gone up to a #60 (just over 1mm)...way better but I like a stock Zen cap...

Seeing as a lot are noting that these are a budget ERA here's how I think they compare, but first let me state...drilling the cap for an airhole is difficult, the cap is thin so you don't have much to drill but it's easily put out of round with your vice (don't even think about doing it without a vice), this is without a doubt stainless, not a big fan of drilling SS, this reminded me why, any ways...because of the larger size of the vape chamber, the A7 isn't as "in your face" as the ERA's can be, the A7 has a little more space for the vape to swirl around and cool. The bottom well of the A7 affords you a little less "flood" than the ERA's, seems once the juice is at the level of the top of the feed tube, any excess gets sucked back into the Grands bottle (good thing IMO)...the coil stays up out of the pool, where as on the ERA's, your coil and feed hole are about level, you can submerge the coil in an ERA (not necessarily a bad thing but you need to cook excess juice off before you get a good vape again), oh, and the adjustable center pin is a nice touch (helps with the o ring thing)...now the bad of the A7...what's with those posts??? could they be a little bigger???...totally screws you up for many possible wick/coil configurations (I wanted to put the face of the coil right at the airhole like I do with the ERA's...I have yet to pull it off, sure the coil goes there fine, how do I run my wick past those humongous posts with little gap between them and the well wall....but that's about all I have as far as grippes, over-all the A7 is fine, it's not amazing but it vapes surprisingly well for $25 (I did try it first on bottom air, works good but the first time my hand was covered in juice...time to mod)...if you're a careful squonker and don't mind a lot of gurgle, you could do a lot worse than the A7, if you have the guns to drill the cap for side air you are just that much farther ahead...

I am still enjoying my A7's quite a bit. I bought 3 more for my other feeders and then got a great package deal from a friend for an ERA and 2 more A7's. Now have way too many BF RBA's. 1 ERA, 6 A7's and 2 drilled out Phoenix = 9 RBA's for 5 feeders and turns out none of them will fit 3 of my feeders. #overloaded

Gonna have to take some pics and list some stuff in the classies this evening.

Ok, running this thing for a week now and I have to say with the side airhole it has taken it's place with my 2 BF ERA's and 1 TF ERA...I figured out how to build a coil on one side of the posts (airhole side) and drap one wick leg to the other side and into the well and the other leg tucked down under the coil into the well...the A7 runs toe to toe with my ERA's taste and vapor wise but with one small con and one big pro...

Con: They could have shaved 1/4" - 3/8" off the height of the A7 easy but really...meh

Pro: The A7 is unfloodable and you get the same saturation of your wick every time...that center tube design is brilliant, you can seriously squonk your brains out...any juice higher than the top of the center tube just gets sucked right back into the bottle...even with a full bottle I've squonked till juice was starting to come out of the airhole, release the squeeze and the juice was literally sucked back into the A7 and back to the center tube level, below the coil height...which is one of the only failings of the BF ERA's

I've become so impressed with the A7 I've decided to build a mod around it and pass on the hunt for a Chalice.
