I've been using one for about a week and it works pretty well. The menu system is a bit wonky, but once you figure it out sort of makes sense. I've found that some Smoktech DCT cartos won't work; I think the threads on the device are located a bit deeper down the socket of the device. No problem with Boge cartos, though. Have used both flat top and nipple top batteries with no problem. I also have a Lambo, and the two are similar in size and function at about the same cost. Overall, I'm happy with it and will have to see how durable it proves to be.

The threads on mine are kinda loose. My CVI fell off of my headboard into the bead and must have has some pressure on it and the tank that was on an adapter was tweaked sideways a bit. I removed it carefully. Threads are fine, but it just doesnt seem as tight as my other mods. I don't really want to pocket it either, kinda on the long side with an XL carto on it. I will use this in the house, and as a backup. Im going back to my ProVari for my travel mod...

I want to try some different heads in my Nova, and they don't get a +POS connection due to this.Safe bridging material? I know to stay away from the +NEG at the same time, el'shorto...

I have two of these CVI's and love them. The "rattlesnake" noise you hear is not the frequency but rather the pulse width modulation (means that the power pulses while being fired) the power goes on and off really fast.
it is the RMS setting that does that. On the CVI the RMS Is set to on and you can not turn it off. but it is a great unit for the price.

PWM runs at some frequency, some lower, some higher. Some designs also don't filter the output much, if at all. It really doesn't make much of a difference to the resistance wire in the carto. Kinda like a light bulb, that is on and off 120 times per second.

kiwivap got my blue CVI!!!!

You got a blue? Woot! That blue is such a cool color. I am expecting to get a red one from a group thing downunder. I have a red Bolt that I love. I'd like blue too for the CVI - which I may also get if I like the red. Really looking forward to trying out this pv. Especially in shorty mode during the week.
