I'm sure the answer is "no" for new vapers or for those who are all thumbs but the the Hybrid mod seems to be a great setup for those who are somewhat handy.
The maintenance costs are tiny compared to disposable atomizers or cartomizers.
Tuning the wick and coil allows one to adjust the vapor production.
Best of all, they don't have problematic connections between the battery and atomizer/tank section.
I'm waiting on my first Hybrid mod and, on paper, it looks to be a great way to have a pocket-friendly PV with super-low repair costs.

What does the ECF Hive say?

Thanks,
Lee

Sure hybrid systems, as described here, are cheaper, more reliable and should be more compact and light weight. But they should be designed very carefully to avoid leakage into power compartment.
Another requirement (my opinion): this system must give you the whole day vaping (I mean battery recharge) with some spare excess, or you should consider a couple of similar devices.

Very useful and timely topic, particularly if it will grow and filled with some information from experienced members.

After The Queen bought her 1st Hybrid from Croatia, HRH was NEVER able to go back to the other far inferior, vaping methods!!! Now the Large and Mini Hybrids are complete vaping devices. They are Mods with the Genesis Attys permanently attached. It is actually The Genesis Atty, itself, that makes the whole difference as was mentioned earlier in this thread. Since I bought my first one, I have bought every other one produced. Almost all are stand alone devices now usually with 510 connections to be used on any, or your favorite Mods!

The difference between a Genesis Atty and any other atty, carto, juice feed or tank system is almost unbelievable in every way! The flavor of the e-juice is so much better and if ya DIY like I do, your e-juices require much less flavoring added which also saves money! It produces vast amounts of vapour that is a much moister vape! It actually pumps the vapour out for ya without even having to draw! Ya can never get a dry burn either. What Genesis Attys saves in costs as compared to far inferior attys is amazing! Over time not only do they pay for themselves, after that they continue to save ya a lot of money as well!!! How many times do ya know of where a far superior product is actually overall cheaper in cost? They have also improved upon the designs so much, they are literally easier to thread than a sewing needle...

So The Queen's Answer Is Definitely NO To Hybrids Being The Future...
Genesis Attys Are The Future!!!
However The Future Is Now!!!
So Why Wait Any Longer?

A hybrid mod has the battery and atomizer sections built as a unit rather than separate pieces.

I like the concept, it's a great idea and I'm sure a large number of vapers would find it ideal, but for me it's not necessarily practical. I typically switch flavors a few times throughout the day, so separate battery and atomizer units suits my needs better ;-)

Easy. Get more units and rotate mods, not just atties. I carry 2-3 and rotate the fleet when at home.

lol, yeah that would be the solution :p But I'd rather not carry around 3 or 4 full devices with me, I prefer to travel a little lighter than that. I have looked at some of the hybrid devices and certainly would like to have one (of each, of course), but that's more just an "ooh, shiny!" response to seeing cool new gadgets that I don't already have ;-)

Sweet :) Not to get off subject but Rooted Droid devices rock. Anyways yes, Hybrid Mods, they are the way of the future for some people. Have to be able to fuss with it and mess with it so if you have patience then I have to say that this is the only way to go.

My nook color with a cm7 sd card has been an awesome multi purpose tool.

These remind me of the kick a## old gas pumps with the clear site window, but fit in your hand and pump delicious vape. Unbelievably cool. One question please, If you have to soder the heating eliment on some of them to perfect the coil system, will that soder burn on vaping and pass on any poison type stuff? My HS Echo probably is full of soder anyway, huh? I can see me eventualy getting one, but would have a heart attack if I lost it.
