cafepress.com sells a variety of vaping-related car magnets and bumper stickers. (Mine says "Vaper on Board.") They also have a section where you can create your own.

I wonder if CASAA has considered offering (magnetic) bumper stickers on their site. I would be willing to make a donation for the cause. I can not fund an entire project, though, I am more than willing to contribute! Additionally, If they can be made for a reasonable price, the bumper stickers can raise money for additional projects. Does anyone know if this has been thought about? Maybe Kristin or EK can chime in.

I had bumper stickers made for an e-commerce project I was involved in some time ago. The magnetic ones weren't cheap, though, we didn't order that many.

I'm not really sure about the magnetic kind; if I could get these as regular bumperstickers, I'd gladly festoon the entire tailgate of our truck with them (and if my husband doesn't like it, he knows where to kiss! ) -- and I'd really like another one I thought of, to say "I'm not smoking, I'm vaping!"

I would break the habit of a lifetime, a loathing for bumper stickers, and proudly display a pro-vaping message ...

One trick I have seen used is to leave the paper backing in place, except in the corners and around the edges, to reduce the area that sticks to the paint. If its removed in a reasonable time, the damage (if any) is minimal ...

Get some plastic card from a modeling shop. While you're there, admire the brass and aluminium tubes and how you could use them for a DIY mod or drip tip.

Get some self-adhesive magnetic strip from ebay or Amazon.

Apply bumper sticker to one side of plastic card. Apply magnetic strip to the other.

The only real problem I can see about the magnetic kind is that it would be so easy for anyone to just take it, if they're so inclined (and in my neighborhood, basically anything not red-hot or nailed down is fair game!). I guess that's ONE way of get the msg out.

On another note... my ex-husband is such a rabid anti-smoker, he's even one of those ninnies who object to 2nd-hand smoke OUTDOORS -- so I emailed him a copy of that study on the front page of casaa.org, about there being no risk even to by-standers.

Guess he can "put that in his pipe and smoke it!"

CASAA and I are back-and-forth about having a casaa "store" on Cafe Press or somewhere, where folks could get things w/o requiring any labor on the part of the board (they have THREE fights TODAY! It's getting crazy!) and also set aside a dollar or a few pennies (depending on the price of the item) as income for CASAA.

But it takes time to get approval, and so I cannot say what or if or when something will happen.

Well as I said, I would definitely buy and display them, and if a portion of the price went to CASAA, that would just make it a more attractive purchase, IMO -- certainly to vapers who are sick of all this plain evil stupidity in the press.

Edit: It just occurred to me that I'm an affiliate of the web-vertising group that Cafe Press is on, so I could actually advertise any Cafe Press stuff on my own site (a template design site). Cool!

If they do decide to use Cafe Press, I would suggest a "window cling" type car message. Should cost less and they can easily be taken off when you sell the car.

So CASAA decided to look for a different vendor and avoid going into merchandising, but the designs I submitted from y'all will be considered for assorted uses like passing out at events etc. It was only 3 designs, one of which is already a web page logo.

I'm going to think about this some more, I don't think I have time to work on this much before I have to leave the country for 3 weeks, middle of march. But I might. I have to get shots, get an visa for my destination, get the house clean-enough to let a house-sitter in, etc.

As long as CASAA is not mentioned, anybody else can make T-shirts and bumper stickers, in fact some do.

I have just spent 3.5 hours fighting with Gimp, and mostly-losing.

I'm trying to create 2 designs for a T-shirt, one for printing on light colors and one for printing on dark colors.

I'm trying to write a 16-word slogan. Today I got ONE word done (in both colors.)

Time for a shot of orange (oh, horror, a FLAVOR!) liqueur and a vape on the porch. I'm done for the day. Done-in, really.

The war to ban ecigs is an easy one to win, I personally wouldn't worry about an all out ban.

However, the war to tax ecigs may be an easy one to lose. Numbers wise, vapers/smokers do not make up enough of a majority vote to concern legislators.

Imagine imposing a 70% tax on Sodas on the same "health" basis, or 70% tax on plastic products, citing "environmental" concerns. Would be a pretty tough one to pass, let alone introduce given the backlash among a huge number of voters and various industries.

With that said, vapers are an easy target for taxation, so unfortunately, its inevitably going to happen. Percentages will obviously vary from state to state; the ones that are more impacted by a loss of tobacco tax revenue will aim for higher ecig taxes and vice versa.

Good news is that we are a pretty creative and intelligent lot, so I am pretty confident there will be many loopholes that will present itself. Yes, it will be more of a hassle to get your ejuice, but better that than to participate in filling your state coffers with your hard earned money.

True, I recall that now, but its unlikely they would impose such as huge tax on Soda as they are shooting for e-cigs. I'm pretty sure they have already wasted hundreds of thousands of taxpayer monies to fund studies on how high a soda tax they can get away with and not have people notice.

But hey, don't blame the politicians, they are only in office because the apathetic, silent voting majority is what keeps them in power.
