When I used to play Half-Life in the late 90's, I ran my HL Servers on Linux and played on Linux. The servers were a no brainer to run on Linux, but then people said my Half-Life experience would not be the same on Linux, so it just forced me to make it happen. Proved them wrong on that alone.

Just one example of how all people say Windows programs work only & best on Windows, is not true.
Run any Apple programs on Linux?

But idk, I wasn't a master at it, just tried what I wanted to experiment with.
Also lost my Techie skills around 8 years ago... Just somehow got screwed onto a different path with life, which sucks because Computers was always supposed to be my career..
There was so much more I wanted to learn..

There are just too many issues trying to get the latest games to run under linux. Just click install on Windows are you are playing in a few minutes...

We have a Super Walmart (which is anything but!); we also have a Kroger, Publix, Aldi, and Ingles within 3 miles of our home, and shop at all of them except Publix (too expensive!). We buy maybe 60% of our groceries at Walmart, but the other 40% come from Kroger, Aldi, and Ingles. All fresh meat (breakfast meat and lunchmeat) from Kroger, I won't buy potatoes or sugar anywhere but Ingles -- Ingles still offers a store brand of pure cane sugar, which Walmart has apparently ceased -- theirs is now just "pure sugar," which means it's BEET sugar, and smells like someone's basement. And the potatoes at Walmart are pathetic, and I got tired of buying sacks of potatoes that some total idiot put a rotten one in the middle of the bag so it could ruin all of 'em, given time -- now I buy russet baking potatoes for ALL my potatoes, from Ingles, because they DON'T look like someone ran 'em thru a chipper/shredder on the way to market. They cost a penny more per lb than the pitiful offerings at Walmart.

Personally as I am now, If I got back into Linux, I would be dual booting or separate computers for different areas.. If it has changed a lot since then..

I was playing around with Linux back when Mandrake and Red Hate was the Linux thing. Then World of Warcraft came out and I went back to Window. Around 4 years ago one of the guys on my crew was telling me about Ubuntu Linux and I gave it a try. Since then I became a full time Linux user. Its a lot easier than it use to be. Any time I have to go to terminal there is always something that spells out exactly what needs to be typed and I usually just use copy and paste in terminal.
The last time I had to use terminal was a few months ago when someone came up with a work around for Iphones. With Windows you have to upload your phone to the "cloud" in order to access you phone pictures. Not with Linux. I hook up the charge cable, click an icon and select download. Then download the pictures i want. I can delete the photo's from my phone too. No Cloud needed!
This is what my desk top looks like with the menu opened. No clutter, no mess.

Yes Ubuntu is nice(Fantastic Actually), I remember playing around with Flashdrive Distros and using it along with other distros mainly Network Security Distros(Ubuntu With Extras pretty much) a few years ago. The thing I liked about Linux though, is being able to customize it from nothing to fit ME.. And Ubuntu is based off Debian, which was the one I liked and used back then, just had the challenge of getting every device to work, then loaded just what I needed.. lol

I'm glad Ubuntu came about, gave more flexibility to users who have never heard of Linux. Mandrake I didn't care for, Red Hat turned into a proprietary company(But Fedora was still free).. Theres just so many to name, but if I wanted an easy one to do a straight switch it would more than likely be Ubuntu, from the Screenshot I can see they have changed the GUI some more(I preferred Gnome) KDE was more targeted for "Windows Friendly" if I remember correct!

Im glad to see somebody who enjoys it!! I need to kick my A@@ back in gear!!

Jobs was a control freak.

Which is why I hate Apple anything! It is so proprietary - everything has to be their own to do anything, from a charge cable to having to use iTunes to listen to anything.

On a lighter note - how about some great Chinglish :D

I wrap quite a few things and the auto wraps are great. You can get templates for pretty much all the devices you want to wrap (Google) and the only thing to watch is don't stretch while applying.

What I am running right now is Kubuntu ver 15. Very easy transition from window to Kubuntu. To go regular Ubuntu is actually harder in my opinion because you have to learn a new desktop format. With Kubuntu you have the KDE desktop.
I also run Linux Mint with the KDE desktop. They both are good distro's that are absolutely free. They just came out with a Steam OS that uses Debian. One day soon I am gonna download it and give it a try.

I came across that site following some links people were posting - relative to the IPV paint jobs not being so great. But I loved the gross finish and the cleaning with soup. :)
