The manager of the office park where my business is (he's a smoker) saw me tootling in the smoking area a few weeks ago. I try not to vape places where smoking isn't allowed. In addition to being a bit rude, it also makes both smokers and non-smokers mad at you.

He asked me "Dave, can't you do that in your office?" I said "I don't know. Can I? I don't think it's addressed in my lease". He told me I could. No problem. But the thing is, I was puffing on a V2 cigalike at the time. I'm now wondering what he would think if he came in here and saw me blow a huge cloud at 40W and then fall on the floor coughing. Would he still be so casual about it?

May I suggest, if blowing huge clouds makes you fall on the floor coughing... maybe you shouldn't be trying to blow huge clouds.

I just went to the vape store to buy a mod. I needed a VV/VW/VT/whatever mod to do science with. I got to talking to the kid behind the counter, and the little ....**d managed to sell me a 60W eVic VT. :w00t:

But I'm still a tootle puffer! The eVic is strictly for scientific purposes.

Sure it is. Keep telling yourself that while clicking your ruby heals and vaping at 60 watts!

Should I tell him that my purchase of that particular mod is what got me into the mod wompers' thread?

Actually, I coughed my head off at like 25W when I had an iStick 50W. Which I still had a few days ago. Until the Kanger Subtank killed it. The two of them together almost killed me.

As I recently posted on a different thread, I vape the way I smoked. Hard draw, straight to the lungs, long drags. Only with vaping I can take 10 second+ drags. I also try to find tanks with good airflow.

All of which adds up to the fact that I can actually blow pretty big clouds if I feel like it, sub 10W. Doing that (hard 10 second lung hit) at 25W is a shock to the system, to say the least. At least that's where my limitation is.

Well... I can't understand the lung hit thing, with cigarettes. Most of us drew on those like sipping a thick milkshake thru a straw. As a teenager, it came as a great surprise that I needed to smoke {other stuff} that way, though that had to change when I developed asthma, and I had to start smoking {other stuff} with the same technique I smoked cigarettes -- and still do. ;)

And trying to draw on a vape the same way you drew on a cigarette, seems to provide only ejuice in the mouth, not a good vape. It's NOT a cigarette.

And lung hitting won't give you much nicotine, since vaporized nicotine is best absorbed by the mucosa of mouth, throat, and nose/sinus passages, not the lungs.

I have 2 30w mods, and a 40w mod (and soon to have 2 more 40w mods!), and with none of them have I gone over 11w -- just because you have it, doesn't mean you have to use it.

Be a tootle puffer -- 10w or less! Tight MtL draw! Then you won't collapse on the floor, coughing! :D

Gonna be spotty here for a few days. Leaving shortly for a family funeral gathering thing. Oldest sisters husband died in an accident. I am sure the motel will have wifi though and taking my Kindle Fire. Hate typing on that thing though. Not a fan of touch screens.
Have a good one.

Sorry to hear that Robert, take care.

No, it's not a cigarette, but for me there's no point in it unless it reasonably simulates cigarette smoking. I vape zero nic. Vaping, for me, is more an anti-relapse practice than anything else.

I don't have problems with ejuice in my mouth as long as I'm using clearos.

Actually, that <other stuff> is how I came to vaping in the first place. Since I started vaping, I don't smoke anything at all. Which is one (OK, the main) reason that I bought a 60W mod in the first place. Some substances need a bit more power to vaporize than ejuice does.

I'd been vaping for several months before I discovered that I could also vape {other stuff} -- and in fact, I HAVE to, since my airways are no longer anesthetized by the topical anesthetics in cigarette tobacco. Any smoke at all, now, just about puts ME on the floor!

I guess that's why it always puzzled people that an asthmatic would smoke, but it turns out, the topical anesthetics in those cigarettes was actually helping my asthma more than hurting it. Now that I don't smoke at all, my asthma is MUCH more tetchy. But even with that being true, I have ZERO desire to go back to smoking; I thought I'd never get free of it, and now that I finally have, nothing could make me go back. I'm just glad I didn't know my asthma would get worse after I quit and started vaping, or I might not have.

Possibly when I'm finally done with the WTA, the asthma will be less troublesome; it didn't actually get worse till after I added the WTA, which is certainly anecdotal in terms of evidence, but might still be the reason why my asthma got worse.

If I remember right, (been a few years) that "other stuff" had a nasty habit of expanding the moment it hit the lungs (and causing munchies). With your asthma, that must not be too much fun.

Well... that too. :D At least... with those who also build coils. And don't freak out if someone posts an 8-coil build. :D

I'm with Ms Butterfly... NOTHING could make me go back to replaceable coils. After all the effort to learn to build them??? NO THANK YOU!!!

It's not! But... being able to sleep on a nightly basis is much to be desired, so many things will be put up with. :D

I think it's cool, and interesting, nevermind that I could never vape that way myself -- I *do* know my limitations! :D

I enjoy creativity in just about any venue, and if I *didn't* have asthma, I'd probably be trying to see how many coils I could fit on a head myself. :D

Imagine you were somewhere pretty far from civilization. You have your mod and atty and some juice. You even have a small solar panel to charge your mobile phone and your battery. You have no tools apart from a penknife. You get a yucky dry hit and your wick is toast. You have to replace it but you have no cotton. Still you try to gently pull out the cotton, but with it you also pull the coil out of whack. It too is toast. You're feeling rather desperate and start going through the small vaping bag you have with you. There's nothing there apart from a bit of tissue .... but hang on, right down there in the fold of the bag you find a Q-tip. You also remember that before you left the house in a hurry you mended the wobbly leg on your sunglasses with a short strip of kanthal.

So in a sudden burst of energy you carefully pluck the cotton from both ends of the ear bud. You neatly trim the ends of same Q-tip, unwind the kanthal from the sun glasses, stretch it out and wind it round the plastic rod. Using the tip of your pen knife for screw driver you place the coil and tighten it down. You roll the two small pieces of cotton in one longer strip and wick it through the coil. You prime the coil, screw the atty back on to your mod and joyfully you take a long, well deserved drag.

What would that vape taste like? :D

The bigger question is how do you get cell phone service that far away from civilization? :pervy:
