Good... (counting hours on fingers)... MORNING!

I'm on CET. So just to give you an idea: I'm 1 hour ahead of Rixsta who is in the UK, 6 hours ahead of New York, 7 hours ahead of Kansas City, 8 hours ahead of Denver and 9 hours ahead of Los Angeles. I don't know where Krisma is in Oz but she could be 6 to 8 hours ahead of me. In my winter and her summer should could be as much as 10 hours ahead of me.

It's almost 8pm here. We have this weird 30min time zone in South Australia :p

But it is the same time everywhere.
If it was not you and I could not talk on the phone.
One cannot call into the future or past.

Well if it were the same time everywhere then we would all be in daylight or darkness at the same time. Since we are not then perhaps time is not just an illusion. The problem, you see, is that Earth is a sphere... and it moves. Eppur si muove.

According to Einstein (and @The Ocelot), it's all somewhat of an illusion anyway.

I think everyone should have to speak in either Zulu/GMT, or in my time (I'm selfish like that).

I get confused easily, especially by those 30 minute zones in Oz, India (and a couple-few others now). I mean, seriously - 30 minutes? The hour ones weren't good enough??? o_O

An ex-US President said it best when he said...

Our "time zones" are just an adaptation of man to adjust our clocks to the rotation of the earth, the daylight and dark cycle. Actually it just gets dark and light at same time at different places on earth.
There is Universal Time vs ERT (Earth rotational Time) thing.
Time is just time and is not controlled by setting ones clock they way they desire.

I just made up the Earth Rotational Time thing as I have no idea of the correct terminology since I am not a Time Lord.

There is big Time and small time. In terms of big Time we are smaller than a nano dot. But small time, even though it is purely conventional (meaning it's something we agree about) is important in everyday life. Now that I am retired I very often don't wear a watch.... I can tell the approximate time of day by the angle of the sun and in my current circumstances that is good enough.

I got exchronocated by the Time Lords and my sonic screwdriver was taken away from me.

That is NOT fair. We will rally on your behalf to have it returned.

What's a watch?

I don't wear a watch and I work ;)

While vaping on my modified eGrip @ 11W

That too.

Depends what you do. :) My former work involved time deadlines, or at least being someplace at precisely the given time.

I see deadlines as somewhat of an (inconvenient) illusion too. My co-workers are not thrilled about that.

:D

I write software, time is measured in days or weeks, not minutes. However, I need to be punctual to meetings, that's what reminders in Outlook are for.

Gawd, I HATE those little buggers. They just keep popping up, and popping up, and I'm (like) "WHAT????"
