It's really no problem, the seepage is that small of a amount. When I said there goes the perfect tank it was said jokingly. :)

Heh. I'm going to let my order go through, anyway. Unlike some (most?), I have almost zero tolerance for any seeping/leaking. It's the bane of my vaping existence--my unusable tank collection is pretty large, as is pretty easy to guess lol-- Guess I'll find out in a few days if that collection grows. ;)

And so did I... Look at it this way: at this rate, Dashvapes' stock isn't going to last more than a few days. At least we got our orders in while it was available!

They must have a good amount of stock, though, as I fully expected them to sell out over the last week. Looks like they still have plenty. Or...it's just not selling yet for them.

i can not understand why all these great mtl atomizers (siren 2, hastur, ares) had chosen a strange way to close the fill port.. and i was trying as hard as i can to avoid the kayfun prime, but this one seems the one with less trouble...
If the tiny seepage issue and I do mean tiny bothers you your probably better off to go with the Prime. I don't have a prime to compare the 2 but I hear it's a good flavor tank. I don't know if this tiny problem will get worse or not but if it stays like it is I have no problem with the tiny seepage.

well, it is not a safe way, like a screwed top with an o'ring.. the two great vapers created the almost perfect mtl atomizer.. incredible, they made it wrong with the top cap..
Hopefully they will have a fix for this tiny problem.

I do have authentic Kayfun Prime and its top cap is not perfect either. Yep, not perfect.

As for the Ares tank, small niggles - yes, any major issues - nope. Well thought-out design and great vape.

    most flavorful tank I own
That is key to me, and good to hear. Would like to hear more comments like that to.... That's the only reason I will buy yet another tank. Got way to many already, some also great vapes....
What interests me about this, is the dome shaped chimney (inside). If that dome creates a new step up in flavour, and it well and truely sets it apart from the others, i'll be in...
For now, i'm with @stols001 in waiting...;)

Well, I've played for a couple of days and using all stock (what came in the box) for testing and ran into a couple of issues others have seen.
Hot drip tip.... Using the included coil @ 1.021 ohm wicked with rayon with 50% tail trim just touching the tank bottom. I replaced with another longer drip tip and issue was resolved. This however may have caused the seepage that is being seen. Seems that the tip being used did not (could not) seat fully to the bottom and the seepage seen I think is from condensation. Need to find another tip in my stash to try and verify.
Mod usage AFC.... I seemed to run into a problem with the air flow adjustment. On an RX200s the AFC rides the top of the mod and prevents adjustment unless you loosen the Ares, adjust and screw back down. On an AL85, what the Ares is on now, no issues with the AFC adjustments.
Flavor.... Still playing to find the sweet spot. Seems that the first draws are like drinking the juice. Getting some snap/crackle & pop running @ 16.5 watt. Flavor drops off some after that (not much). May need a little more trimming of the wick and/or upping the wattage or both.
Bottom line.... I like. A little more fine tuning and it's a keeper.

Well, safe as i don't want to find liquid in my pockets
Btw - it is possible to use it with 2 mm coils ?
No I would not suggest 2 mm coils because the wick slots are to big. I'm using 2.5 in mine and all is good.

    Posted this in another thread, then was alerted to this thread;

Picked one up yesterday from a local B&M. Easy to build, easy to wick, easy to fill. It vapes great, no leaking and no dry hits.

It is a very tight vape. With all four open you can do a very restricted lung hit.

Flavour is very good, and the vapour is thick with some high VG juice. A very satisfying vape even at 15W.

All in all, a very nice tank. Build quality is superb, the glass on the tank is very thick. The slide to fill mechanism was a little clunky when it was dry, after filling with juice it's nice and smooth. The refill hole is a nice size, no issues filling it in a matter of seconds.

I normally use squonk mods but wanted a tank for out and about. Some times you just want to not think about things and just have a vape.

Since the chamber is significantly raised on the ARES the way the warm vape has to take (and can cool down) is shorter than on other atomizers I guess. So if you´re vaping a lot the small drip tip will get hot quickly. I would recommend to switch to a larger mouth piece like this: $2.06 Stainless Steel 510 Drip Tip w/ Heat Insulation Base - 25mm / silver at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
It also has small cooling fins to help cool down your vape. I like to use this on the small doggy 2K16 and it helps a lot.

    Or get a goose neck?

Seriously, I was worried about a hot vape (hot drip tip) due to that raised deck, which is why I didn't buy this atty yet. I always hated top-coil atties--I like cooler vape, and I don't want a heating coil anywhere near my mouth.

Does anyone here know what the advantage of a raised (sky) deck is? Why did P + D choose this particular design?

Well I have found a problem with mine, I am getting juice seeping from the top cap, the 1st time it happened, I just thought I might of over filled it, but 2 more fills and still getting a bit of seepage, seems it is not making a proper seal when the top is closed, and of course there is no extra gasket for the fill port.

At least it is at the top of the tank, so not like it seeps enough to be dripping down the side of the mod, I'll probably just not fill it all the way up, and still won't put me off getting more, as the vape is so good from it, and a easy way around it :)

Grrr.... I don't mind a little wetness at the bottom of an atty--that's to be expected, we're dealing with small containers of eliquid, but I really, really don't want any wetness on top of my atty. This usually means wet vape or worse, juice in mouth... Haven't had this particular experience in years, and I don't want to have it again--ever.

Thank you all for your reviews, BTW! Very helpful!
