Yes they told me to keep the spare parts too, which makes me wonder if they are sending a new boxed Ares or just the Ares by itself.

I can tell you, for a China company to step up and offer replacement, is not a common thing, do I think I should of had to pay to ship it back, no way, but kudos to innokin for at least stepping and admit there is a problem and will replace it.

If you agreed to send it back, then you should, if you didn't, then just tell them your not prepared to pat to ship it back.

I think innokin been honest and people should be back, but that's just my :2c:

I agree, for sure. It’s good customer service. In the email, they literally asked for my address and proof of purchase, and told me they were sending two (I bought two). The last line of the email was to send them the RTA to (insert address).

Although I never “agreed” to send it in, I’m a honest fella, so I will. But I definitely won’t send it back before I get a replacement. It’s way better than the only other tank I own!

I once drove back to Target after driving 25 min Home, because I found a roll of aluminum foil under something else I bought, and I didn’t pay for it. When I went back in and told the lady, she thought I was nucking futs as she rang me up for $1.99.

I’m assuming they want to get a look at your tank so they can figure out why it leaks.
It could also be in their interest to get them out of circulation. Not wanting them passed along/resold, and having other potential customers get bad impressions about Inokin products. Just guessin' :D

I had a similar experience at a CVS when I returned with two humongous containers of bleach that were not charged on my bill. (They were on sale for 50 cents each.)

I thought they were about to arrest me for nucking futzvilleness.

Just my opinion, but the email sounds like a conditional offer to send you new tanks if you agree to send the defective ones back. IMO, sending them your address in response to the email amounts to an acceptance of the entire offer.

I'm obviously very late to this thread, so sorry if it's old information, but Vapor Authority is currently selling this tank for $24.99. It bit the bullet last night and ordered, and already received USPS shipping notification. Should be here Tuesday.

I've learned to love the vape from my 2 Berserkers, but I hate filling them. I gave up on top filling them weeks ago. They will ALWAYS flood. Looking forward to trying this new tank.

I ordered mine from them and it was supposed to be delivered today but the crappy USPS let me down. Now the long wait for Tuesday.

Sorry ricks about the delay :(

Hope you get a good one, odds are you will. After a few weeks with it, it is used daily like my other two mains. Actuall, these are the only tanks I use now, ranked in order of my preference.

1. Berserker- got two, love them
2. Doggys - got two, great all around.
3, Ares - great tank, if I wrecked it tomorrow, I would buy another. It’s just not my fave.

With these three, I am a happy camper. Not looking for anything else. Each brings something I enjoy and each have become essential.

@VaPreis - I top fill both of my Zerks with no problems. I use the turn upside down hack, keep it there for about 30 seconds, and move on. I know some others can’t get it to work and end up bottom filling.

I wish I knew what the difference is. Maybe the difference in the machining, maybe the seals and how quick it gets the pressure it needs. I don’t know.

Hope the Ares works out for you.

Okay, one more thing :)

My Ares has always seeped juice from the top. I did a fill this afternoon and for grins I poked around on the little gasket under the sliding top. So far (about a third of a tank) so seeping!

Maybe mine was somehow not seated correctly from the factory. I don’t know, but I hope it keeps working.

Got my Ares in today!
Gave it a wash, although it was very clean, threw in one of the prebuilt coils for quickness,
and cut a 1/4" wide strip of the cotton for wicking.
upload_2017-12-26_16-28-34.png

I usually build my coils with 28g, 2.4mm, 9 wraps, 1.6ohms, so took a little temp fiddling (more power).
And some air-flow fiddling too.
Pretty darn tasty!
Similar to the Siren V1.

The air-flow is very smooth.
3 holes is my draw-style.
2 holes is nice too and a bit more flavorful.
4 holes is just a tad much, but offers a restricted DTL.
1 hole is very (too) tight and similar to a cig drag.

Glad to say no leaking!
I've tipped it sideways and laid it on its side to try to get it to leak, stays dry!
I will keep an eye on it in the days/weeks to come.

The vape is a bit warmer than most my other attys.
Must be due to the shortness of the deck-to chimney-to mouth piece.
More than 4 or 5 pulls in a row, the mouthpiece can get a bit warm.
More airflow reduces the temp.

Only gripe, the air slot it behind the Pico25 battery cap,
makes it hard to see the slot/holes.
Guessing it's luck of the draw on each units threading?
But the air control ring is very smooth with just the right resistance
to make it easy to set, and then stay set.
And rotation stops at each end of the adjustment area.

I was excited for the release of this tank and very pleased with the purchase.
It is a strong 2nd to my favorite and primary tanks - the Erlkonigins (5 of them),
and the Ares will be the only other tank I have that will join the daily rotation.
Next fill, I'll put my regular build in.

Vapor Authority had a great price, excellent communication and fast shipping.
I will be getting a few more.

Got mine today. Quick bath and coiled it with 3mm SS spaced 6/7 wraps with Rayon and so far so good. This has to be the easiest tank to fill. Just slide it open and fill. This is not as restricted as the Berserker tho. I have it set at the smallest hole. Going to try a 2.5mm coil next to see how that works. I just get better flavor using a 2 or 2.5mm coil. Had to start larger first.

It's just a little taller than the Berserker too. I like this size.

2.5 works fine Ricks, haven't tried 2 yet.

Thanks Bob, Do you think a 2mm will have enough wick for that wick channels? I might try a 2mm next. I'm using Rayon.
I'm going to try 2mm on next rewick but I use Rayon also so it might be a while. I am concerned that the wick channels might be to big for 2mm using Rayon but I'm going to try it.

I got my review up for this https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/threads/anthony-vapes-innokin-ares-mtl-rta-review.844407/

If people don't want to read the whole thing i said it's decent in short. nothing i'd recommend, but i wouldn't tell people not to buy it either.

Also not sure if i'm allowed to mention this so if i'm not mods please feel free to edit this out, But i do have a contest running on reddit for any reditors here it's a simple comment to enter random giveaway to win a SS ares MTL RTA. It ends on New Years day

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I bought 4 from MVS the day they were released. I got a new one for Christmas from one of my kids. There is a difference in them. The original 4 I got all perform exactly the same. I have had absolutely no leaking on any of them. There is some condensation that builds up around the airflow ring but that doesn't usually happen until I've run about 3 or 4 tankfuls of liquid through them. I find this to be normal on all my RTAs. Easy enough to wick away with vaper towels. While I can find a comfortable airflow with these, I've always thought that the airflow didn't seem to match the air hole chosen. This was verified when I turned the airflow ring so all of the holes were closed - I could still get an almost decent MTL vape with no airflow holes open. The new tank seems to have tighter tolerances on the airflow ring. When you dial that one off, it is off. No airflow. On that one, the airhole you dial is the airflow you get. While I usually run the original 4 on the smallest single hole, I generally run the new one on the 3rd single hole and they are comparable. That works out to between the 3rd and 4th hole on the Berserker (I have a few of those too).

I won't be returning any of mine for warranty because I don't feel as if any of them are faulty. I like them and will probably get more. I have retired my Sirens (v1s) and need to retire my Merlins as well.
