Not sure if this goes here or where it would go, but I was wondering about second hand vapor lately. How much nicotine winds up in that vapor and would it be harmful to others? It obviously wouldn't be as harmful as cigarette smoke, but how harmful is second hand vapor for children, for instance?

It seems as though no hard research has been done on this yet--until now.

It seems that the vaping community has been collecting money to fund a study and the study seems to be ready, but not released yet.

For details, see IVAQS Project

Imagine and Cookie, do you have any thoughts or opinions on this? I just found out about this tonight and was wondering since I think it would be an important subject for most, if not all, of us.

I am not sure on the scientific info but in my experience I am much more affected by a room full of smoke then a room full of vapor... and I know they say we absorb less nicotine with vaping so i would assume it would be the same in the air....

You know I did a test the other day. We have a lot of bees around our house. I used to exhale smoke towards the bees and they would fly away from it and then come back. I exhaled my vape towards them and they did not alter what they were doing one bit...

I do not know the accuracy of it, but in one of the medical discussion threads the measurement of exhaled nicotine was in the millionths of parts - pretty much undectable...

Happen to know where that thread is? I'm trying to find something definitive. I'm getting really curious the more I think about it.

That's been my one disappointment with vaping: It does nothing to keep away the flying, biting, annoying FL insects.

If anything, it attracts them...especially pesky little fruitflies...I guess they like my liquids too! :p

You've got to learn to enjoy and be a part of nature while your vaping :)
