Retriever--you need to let your X2 lay side-ways or with the clearo slightly tilted down, as the liquid level goes down. The wicks are little short dudes, up near the top. These things DO NOT LEAK, so you can lay it down with confidence.

Thank you. The reason I had asked is because right before I ran the clearo dry, I got some really bad, burning hits. Not awesome at all. Why aren't the wicks on the bottom? It would make sense, as I thought the coil was on the bottom. Now I am confused, but that is okay, I stay that way.
