Ok. I'm having issues. I seem to be having to take shorter hits now, like 3-4 seconds, when I used to take like 5-7. If I take the longer normal hits I start coughing like crazy. It has happened off/on before, but now its pretty constant. Could it be the nic level? I am using all brand new gear since the sale, so everything is clean and has no build up. I thought maybe it is letting me get more ingredients in my hits than before. Not sure, just know it's annoying the crap outta me. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Please don't tell me I have to stop vaping.

I use almost all SI juice. Most are 24mg, a few 18mg. I was thinking it could be the nic level because the 18mg doesn't cause the coughing as often, but still some. Then again, there are so many variants; length of drag, if throat is dry, clearo or cart, possibly nic level, fresh or used battery. The carts, having a tighter draw do not seem to cause it, but ever since I got the CE3s and now the clearos, it happens all the time. Maybe I am one who just needs to adjust to the equipment and change my actions.

What juice are you using? I have the same problem if I use anything with more than 40% VG. I do best at 70/30. A lot of people have problems with PG. it could be that you need to do some experiments with your PG/VG ratio.

It may be a combination of both. I believe most pre mixed juices are 80/20 or 70/30. The problem is most don't state the ratio in their descriptions. Neither does SI. I have a problem with PG so I vape at 60/40. Mainly because of the PG. Different flavors can also make me cough. Remember you are probably vaping more continuously than you smoked so you might not need as much nic as you think. You can fine tune your nic levels by combining nic levels. 6mg + 0mg = 3mg, 18mg + 0mg = 9mg, etc.. As long as you are using the same flavors everything should taste the same. Otherwise you might need to DIY, like me, to get the exact combo you need.

The CE3's and clearo might be giving you a "wetter" vape since they draw a lot easier. I noticed a little cough when I started to use them and that I had to change my draw for a day or two to adjust. Since the cartos don't seem to cause it, adjusting to different equipment seems to make since. :2c:

You probably are getting a lot more nicotine. I would order some 12 mg juice and if you don't cough at all you'll know it is the nic level. You can always mix it with the 24 or 18 mg to get the amount of nic you need.

I'm a chain vaper so I stick with 6 mg nic. But that is too low for someone trying to quit smoking.

If it's a CYA thing, I guess I better start putting foam rubber pads on the corners of my end tables and such in case I trip and hit my head or maybe start wearing a crash helmet full time. Batteries can certainly be overcharged to the point of catching fire or exploding, no question, but my laptop is always plugged in, my cell phone charges over night, I have an emergency light that's always plugged in and just think about how many little transformer style devices get left plugged in constantly. All of them are potential fire hazards or explosion hazards. So is a gas stove and central heating that use fuel and has a chimney. Life is full of these little hazards and worrying about a one in a few million chance of a battery caused fire seems to be getting a little too concerned. Think about how many rechargeable batteries are in use, nationwide and worldwide then consider how many fires or explosions happen because of them. You have a better chance of getting hit by a grand piano falling out of a 747 flying east on a westerly wind on the fourth blue moon of the year. Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it. (no, I never rant 1stofficer LOL)

In this particular case the life span of the battery was the original question and the answer I got back seemed to indicate that leaving them on a charger would effect the life span of the battery, not burn down the house.
Really had to chuckle on this one! Reminds me of one summer - wanting to "treat as our own" - I was told we could NOT have a foster son mow the lawn. He could get hurt. Liability issues, don't yah know. His therapist had a great answer for the case manager: It's a risk getting out of bed! Glad the question came up ... I just got to wondering about this again too. Posted the question some where ...

Here's a picture of the Mega Carto for the 510 on an eGo type battery. Isn't it handsome? I think it'd wonderful if something like this was available for the X2...for those of us not fans of the tank systems ...those of us who have, over the course of months of experimenting, come to the conclusion cartomizers are the best way to go on many levels.

Nice lookin' set up! Do you use strictly SI juice in the carto? I felt the Clearo was "longer lasting".

I was thinking that I would stop using cartos altogether. Then, today a leaky clearo killed my purple 1300 mAh X2. I am bummed. :(
Not "THEEEE" purple!

OMGosh!! You've made my day! Thank you. I'll be first in line to order when they come in :)
Whew! That was close! ( now that I've figured out how to really clean and even repaired one!)

No, really, SI does have great customer service!
If you could look up Good Customer Service - you'd see a picture of the SI banner!

Philly: I'm sorry too, that you had a disappointing experience early on. In my experience - they are second to none - EXCELLENCE!
My first $100 kit (other guys) was lesson learned the hard way. 1st batt died in a week. Their reply was: replacements in the mail. That was last Feb. I'm not holding my breathe - still waiting. The second battery died about 3 weeks later(?) ... No reply whatsoever. Happily I'd come across some excellent reviews on SI. The couple of difficulties where promptly taken care of. I hope you'll give them another chance so you can see them shine too! :)

Going back to the battery charging question, yet again I'm going to be looking around for a timer to use on the surge strip that has my array of chargers on it, just to automate and make sure things turn off completely. Maybe I'll work on a USB/808 adapter with a current sensing switch to completely automate charging for each battery rather than the surge strip.
Dude! Make sure you patent it! :D

LOL! When it was always and only Choc / Mint / Menthol - I used to refer to the PV as my "Slo-Poke"! Umm - if your old enough - to remember the "all day sucker"! :D

Then Elvis IS still alive!

Haven't you read the Sookie Stackhouse novels? Elvis is a vampire, now known as Bubba. But the stuff in his system jacked up his brain in the turning, which is why sometimes he forgets that he is not supposed to be seen, hence the Elvis sightings. :)

I always worry when I post something like that. Text on a screen doesn't carry the tone, inflection or facial expression that I experience as I write and I really worry that someone will be offended. As far as reading the whole post, welcome to the "foot in mouth club" if you think you actually deserve that, and you don't. These "threads" are really conversations and wander all over the place just like a normal conversation does, which is what makes them so good!

Awsum & Kia, OMG i am the king of "Foot in Mouth". Thanks for the Battery info & nice conversation :)

Thanks, Ladies. Not the worst that could happen, but it was my purple one. :(

I have had pretty good luck with the CE3, but I can see why the clearos are being discontinued. I have gotten some good vapes from some of them.

Losing a big X2 sucks grrrrrr. i been lucky so far. i got a small one, which is my third which i like alot.

I didnt know Clearo's (the clear tank's labaled X2) are being discontinued :( Is that true ??? (EDIT I JUST READ AHEAD & NOW SEE WE CAN STILL GET
:D
i have only vaped 6 weeks, but 4 me, i like how easy they fill and i find if keep em mostly upright, they never give me a problem. Others have em with different names, so its not a big deal if SI stops carrying em, just i would want to be sure. The only reason i ask, is they are out of stock now and i am waiting to get more. But if they wont be replaced ill go elsewhere. So far they have worked very well for me for home vaping and quick car trips. I guess if ruin a battery with one, i wouldn't like it tho.

Sorry, Rave. I'm a little confused on what is coming and what is going, but I did remember Imagine saying the clearos were going bye-bye. There will be something better in their place, I'm sure.

I'm a little afraid of anything tank-like now. I can't afford to lose too many 1300 mAh batteries.

Uhg, sorry about ur lose and i can see why ur afraid i would be too Lilac :(

Well, I lied. I have a little waste can in my bedroom and threw my purple batt in there. I tried it on the pass through with a carto, with a clearo and it was dead as a door nail. Got to thinking about it, took it back out of the can, tried charging it and lo and behold, it works. The only thing I can figure is that it dried out a little and now it is fine. (Pay no attention to the crazy woman behind the computer screen) My purple baby lives.

Yeah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chookychuck, my purple X2 dried out a little and is now working great. Imagine first said the clearos were being discontinued, but that has been amended. Apparently a lot of customers weren't too happy about that and it was decided they will still be available.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone in the thread who had kind words and Imagine for helping me out.

I have had at least 5 orders with em and they have taken good care of me Phil. I had some problems with Ce3's and the portable charger ... again they more than made me happy & i knew they really do believe in Custormer Service so i am confident ordering from them and even willing to pay a premium. I am very impatient waiting on the phone, either recalling or being put on hold so i have responded with there CS tickets and all ways got quick responses. Sorry ur experience was different, but i would keep an open mind, because i think think ur situation was kinda an anomaly and unlike lots of company's, they do have Imagine to catch those anomaly's. Anyway i hope ur happy now Phil, they really do want repeat business and do everything possible to keep u happy is my experience.
