It is difficult being new to all this and sifting thru all this conflicting info. For Instance, Imagine said they don't advocate cleaning clearos they are meant to be disposable and yet there are numerous posts all over this forum about doing just that. So much conflicting info it is hard to know. Again why I suggested that the equipment should come with instructions. How to use or fill, when to dispose, how long they last, Not to clean them etc.

It is just a suggestion and one I also sent to SI today because I got tired of looking all over the internet for info. takes way too much time and there is just too much conflicting info out there for a new person.

there are many ways to skin a cat Sasha,,some are better then others,,plus what works for one does not seem to work for others.

Sasha, you are right that it does take way too much work to figure out what really works best, speaking as another relative newbie. Most people are so excited to be done with analog/stinkie/paper cigarettes that they put the time in to watch a lot of videos and read through the forums. Part of it too is, the vendors make their money by having you throw stuff away and buy more. But most folks have figured out one way or another to make them last longer - washing, cleaning, refilling, etc. Don't be so worried about doing it wrong, worst that happens is you throw a few cartos away. I can warn you that once you move past Volt batteries with cartos and clearos, it gets much more complicated, with what works with what. I'm not planning to go there, but most do eventually. Finally, keep in mind that the majority of orders SI gets are not from new folks, but rather folks ordering extras and refills. They do have a pretty clear section on their website pointing to their official "how to" videos. [Edit: There are videos on each product page].

So to summarize, take a deep breath, enjoy the fact that you can "smoke" indoors now and don't stink, and try to enjoy the journey rather than focusing only on the destination :).

Here is a whole section of this forum that focuses on stuff compatible with the VOLT and SI equipment, it is another good place to go for answers to questions like, how to clean cartos, what is the best clearo, etc. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/kr808d-1/

It would be very helpful if SI sent instructions with their equipment. I recieved clearos and nanos in the mail and then had to go hunting around on the internet to figure out how to use it, maintain it, clean it etc.

When you are new to all this and ordering equipment it would be very heplful to include step by step instructions explaining everything. I still don't understand how to clean these things or when I am supposed to clean them and how long they last etc. to much conflicting info on the internet.

A short set of instruction mailled with the equipment would have been very helpful for us newbies.

Thanks.

Each product on the website that has a video has that vid on the product page :)

and in the ask Imagine dept.. and I know it's going to end up being a noob facepalm moment but.. my vape mail #1 for this week is here! yeah! got my holiday batteries *swoon* pretty

I now also have my first manual battery - pink - 650 X2 - even remembered the 5 click to turn it on thing. (now if I can remember to push the button.... ) Anyway.. with the manual, is the LED supposed to come on while drawing/button pushing? I don't mean the button light but the one where the passthru plugs in.
*that wasn't the facepalm question*

In my order there was a little prezzie .. um.. it's a black circle of a rubber like material with two volt hologram emblems in it.. circle being around 3" in diameter and the emblums being about an inch across on either side of this rubber thing. It also says smokeless image on the band. I cannot find this item on the website and have to ask.. what is it for? Maybe to hold a case shut? I don't have a case so I'm drawing a blank

It's a holistic device that uses holographic technology that uses the natural energy of the wearer. There are claims are to help you stay balanced better and also increase your health to name a few.

Thanks for the bracelet imagine I'm wearing mine now!

Thanks from me, too.
I was wondering what it was, too.
I will wear it and stay "balanced"! LOL

i was not making jest of you,,but if you thought that ,,,,i'm sorry.
we all were new at one time.

I appreaciate the apology. It can be frustrating when your new and trying to figure everything out. I know it seems easy to those who have been doing it for awile hopefully, someday I will get there. :)

Actually, Sasha, I've been at this for 18+ months, and while I am familiar with the equipment I use (mostly SI), if I wanted to try something else, I'd be in the same boat you're in. This is still a relatively new industry, and the quirks and tips are still "word of mouth". If it's any consolation, by the time you need to worry about cleaning anything, you will have had time to mine a little information on how-to. Very few of the liquid-delivery devices (cartos, clearos, etc) available from the various and sundry vendors are intended to be cleaned; just refilled until the performance becomes unacceptable, then replaced with new. Many people just buy prefilled cartos, vape them dry and throw them away. There are various methods for extending the usable life span of these devices, and what works well and has acceptable results can be different from one person to the next. I personally don't clean cartomizers. I buy blanks, and if I can refill them 5 times or so, I call it good, and toss them out. Clearomizers are easily rinsed out, and last quite awhile, even if they're not intended to.
There is a wealth of information in the Smokeless Image forum, and a helpful group of people. MrOutlaw makes very helpful videos, and they are scattered around the forum (the "search" function is your friend), as well as being available on YouTube.
Come join us on the ChitChat thread*, if you like; you'll find a helpful bunch of people, and it's one of the most friendly threads in ECF.

*the ChitChat thread is located near this one, at the top of the SI forum, in the top section, where all the threads are "stickied".

Imagine, I hope it was ok to post such a long response in your thread.
