New KFM3 user here,

I have a clone from 3F and I'm trying to tighten up the draw a bit. This is done by turning the air screw to the right correct? I have it screwed all the way in and it's still a bit airy so I'm wondering how does a fully tightened draw compare to that of a kayfun lite+? Seems to be a much looser draw.

When I tighten the airflow screw on mine fully, it completely shuts off the airflow…cant draw anything through.

The screw on mine was quite janky initially…I replaced it with another ….its a 2.5M headless one I think.

Suck on the drip tip while you're adjusting the screw from below…that's the best way to dial it in…I do this without any juice in the tank, just to be safe.

Cumulo, it looks a bit high to me, but it could just be the shot. (Speaking of your coil.... the 510 definitely looks awkwardly high, but then again it's hard to tell because of the manification.)

In pictures Ive seen of other Kayfuns the screw always ends at deck level….but since this is a clone, some variances are a given. I was just concerned I overtightened it….Ive heard these posts can snap off sometimes so was concerned. I will try and lower my coil a bit…maybe that will solve the flavour issues Ive been having. Thanks

Yeah my screw must be messed up or jammed. I screw it all the way in and it doesn't cut off airflow. I'll try replacing

Edit:

Just replaced the screw, and it still won't tighten down all the way. Is there a way to disassemble the base further and figure out what's preventing it from screwing in/any ideas what's stopping it?

You can remove the 510 post that threads into the deck from below….remove the 510 screw and cover and use a 5mm hex socket….the post will come apart…you could then blow into it or run some wire through it after removing the screw…my guess is the threads might be a bit messed up and are impeding the screw's progress...

I've seen some where the threads were not cut enough for the air screw to close any further.

On 2 of my friend's tanks from 3F I had to cut some more threads to get her a tighter hit.

How did you cut the threads? I bought two clones, one of them I was able to get the grub screw in enough by taking the post screw out and just forcing it hard enough with a long steel screw driver. The other seems to be a bit more stuck

You would need tap and die tools to do it. It was the smallest tap in my set.

You could try modifying it to get a more restricted vape???

Where can I get good replacement deck screws? The screws in one of my clones (not sure who the manufacturer is) won't hold a coil worth a :censored:!

You very well might need replacement screws (mine came with a couple in the spare parts bag)... but it also sounds like you may benefit from doing this:

https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/attachments/trolldragon-scratch-jpg.601135/

Those grooves cut into the base will greatly help hold the wire under the screws.

Credit goes to Katdarling for posting this pic originally in this thread, and Trolldragon (maybe, me thinks lol) for being the person who made the modification to begin with. I apologize in advance if I have the wrong names here. I'm new and just trying to help :p

Edit: Sorry, I screwed up the pic, but you can still click on the link and see what I'm talking about :D

I cut notches with a small triangle file on all my decks that trap wires under the screw. It helps keep the wire in place and doesn't matter if the screws have a rounded bottom or not.

Fat Daddy sells replacement stainless steel Kayfun deck screws in a 12 pack as well as the knurled ones. The old Kayfun decks used M1.6 screws, I am not sure what the KFM3 uses but I think it's the same.

The screws are just about halfway down the shop page.

The Knurled screws on a Kayfun 3.1 using it's wire trap holes but you can still trap under them as they are perfectly flat. There is no slot in them so you might have to tighten with small pliers.

You're very kind, but ZERO credit goes to me. I just saved a pic and posted it.

ALL credit goes to TrollDragon for the Troll Scratch Dance. It works, and it works well.

You might want to get some of these (yes, @TrollDragon ?)
