juice too thick?
I had to do that all the time with the kayfun 4 using thicker juice.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure, I'm running 60 vg/40 diy juice. I'll try some 50/50 in a few.

Open the jfc more? I use 80 vg all the time in these. No problems.

So now I feel silly. Was running it two full turns open, opened it one more full turn and I get little bubbles coming up. Feels kind of wobbley (sp) at 3 full turns but no dry hits - win.

It is still building up vacuum - if I crack the top capo still get bubbles coming up.

Gonna tear it down tonight, clean her up and try again.

I'm new to this tank, so don't listen to me haha. I have this same problem sometimes when I chain vape. I take long/slow inhales.. probably around 6-10 seconds long. When I do this multiple times in a row it will dry out the wick a little. What I have been doing is blocking all the air holes with my fingers and take a small dry inhale, then release your fingers. Every time I do this I will see a much larger air bubble come up than the usual air bubble. I've also noticed that even when I'm not chain vaping, the air bubble sometimes won't come through until I've held the tank/mod at an angle so it can escape the air holes. When opening my juice control I always back it out 2 1/4 turns using 40/60 pg/vg, so it should be PLENTY open enough for the type of juice I'm using. I just want to be sure that the wick is getting all the juice it can so it isn't dry... but I'm scared of opening it up any more than that haha.

Again... I'm new to this tank, so I'm still learning about it through trial and error every day. :) The experts here can help you more than I can, I just thought I would come here and say that the same kind of thing happens to me sometimes ;)

Yup that's me exactly. Multiple long hits. Not really chain vaping, decent length pauses in between. Have to try changing the angle to see if that helps.

The vacuum is a good thing actually it keeps the atty from leaking.:)
Next time you tear it down tighten jfc all the way then open it and look at how many turns it takes to fully open the holes. Overstuffing the wick can also cause problems.

I keep my wick relatively tight in the coil, but thin the tails with a thin sewing pin before the final cutting. Then I cut the wick such that only the tips of the cotton touch the deck. I think that keeps more eliquid in the cotton near the coil; wispy wick ends hold more eliquid.

You might also make sure that the 4 tiny holes on the deck are clearly drilled and not stuffed with wick. Cotton can be touching the holes, but not so tightly stuffed as to block them. Again, if only the tips of the wick are on the deck, the holes are less likely to be blocked completely.

And yes, vacuum is necessary to keep the eliquid in the tank from flowing out.

Hi
I have 3 of these and really like em
I noticed when I took the silicone sleves of my mods they were all wet.
Is it because I travel with them with the juice control open?
Should I close them and not lay them on there sides?
Thanks
Going to a higher altitude will cause the air in the tank to expand and if the juice control is open the additional pressure will force something - either air or eliquid - out of the tank in the direction of the coil. Closing the juice control will keep the pressure in the tank, but whether that's a better thing probably depends on how much pressure is built up and how strong the glass tank is.

I think the general recommendation is that you should fly with empty tanks (of eliquid - not fuel). :)

Changes in ambient heat could have a similar effect. I wouldn't know how much of an effect though, as I live in a relatively temperate climate.

Some vapers have posted that their mods leak if left in a parked car during the summer, for example.

FWIW I have solved almost all of my vacuum or leak related issues with a top to bottom O-ring change out. These days, after a good ultra sonic cleaning, I swap out the O-rings before I use the 1.5 Plus for the first time. This procedure has had all 5 of mine working flawlessly out of the box. Of course, YMMV[emoji2]

Interesting, and interested, DashMan. Are you using different O-rings, or simply taking out the originals and replacing those afte the U/S bath?

If different ones....... which, please?

I find that every iteration of the KFM is weepy and somewhat soggy on its bottom.

On this particular tank my plan was to replace initially with the provided spares and then wait till they wore out then start over with brand new rings made in the US of A. As to your soggy bottom issues, I have noted that on the mini as well. Oddly, the 1.5+ does not seem to share this trait. Maybe if u checked your O-ring for damage or wear the leaking ..... just going to stop there. Yep indeed.
