Focal just got the Tobeco KF4 in stock at the US warehouse for $26 (and then theres the 15% off code), only 17 in stock so if you wanted one act quick.
$25.76 (Ship from USA) Kayfun V4 Clone by Tobeco

The 15% off code (2015Happy) doesn't work for stuff in the US or German warehouses. I ordered the $22.68 version from them ($19 after code). The code might be expired though (only for the Jan 5th).

I'm still pretty happy with the KF v4 other than the issues I posted. Keeping the JC locked open solved the leaking so far. I think the extra features is worth the trouble to sort this out but I don't think I'll be getting an authentic mainly because I can't use it with a dna 40 reliably.

Oh... and I figured out why my wicks were burning. My last wick was cut so the ends were just above the juice deck, maybe feathering the deck.

Has anyone compared the Tobeco version to the EHPRO version? I wasn't going to get one due to the issues using Ni200 with it but at these prices why not, I'll probably pick up a Lemo too since they seem to do well with nickel.

I have a black Tobeco on the way (should ship tomorrow from US) and another unknown clone from Focalecig. From what I've read, the Ehpro isn't that much better and I'm a Ehpro fanboy :D.

A couple of days ago I posted this " On Monday I will be posting pictures of my K4 clone running Ni200 flawlessly",,well I posted in the wrong thread, I was wanting to post it here but it ended up in the authentic kayfun v4 thread, it wasn't a good thing.

But I hope to post pictures of my K4 clone with flawlessly operating liquid control instead.

2.5 weeks from placing the order or 2.5 week from acceptance by China Post?
Mine generally take 12 days from acceptance but I've had one come in 4 days and another in 5 days and yet another 2 months.

Sorry, 2.5 weeks since placing the order, about 1.5 weeks since it's "shipped". My last FT order took over a month and it was just a drip tip so I didn't have tracking.

OK, I'm going to post this, I really wanted it to be tried out before posting but here goes. They made an error in machining either part #3 or #5 I'm not sure which but a shim could be installed into the square part of # 3 where #5 contacts , BTW this is the last leg of the ground before the 510 so it must conduct (metal)
I'm also not sure of the thickness but I figure 10 mil is a good place to start, brass shim stock would be my preference but the heavy aluminum foil is easier to come by at least till one determines the thickness required. Keep in mind that screw #9 is to be real tight when properly installed otherwise it will come loose over time.
Need to make sure that 510 screw can't touch the shim as it passes up through.

Here is the PM that I sent:
OK , you will need a postage stamp size piece of aluminum foil, not the regular but the extra thick one. cut the foil the size and shape of that square in the base(#3). Then fold it in half and snip out the hole in the center, doesn't have to be perfect but large enough for the 510 screw to pass through with out touching. unfold it, place it into the square in #3, assemble as in diagram making sure #6 screw is real tight, tight enough to not come loose. If you don't understand ask me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one suffering this problem. I've lost count of how many times I've taken the base apart on my no-name ebay KF4 over the last few days. The juice control is either jammed solid or when I loosen #9 it just spins round and round. For the few minutes when it actually works my resistance jumps about crazily. Do you have a picture of this workaround because it sounds just the job :)

My clone arrives today and it's of the brand (Amod) known to have this problem. In about 8 more hours providing mine has this lack of clearance problem I shall be posting something about it, hopefully how to remedy it.

Ok well I guess I did the foil thing wrong, I didn't know it had to be REALLY thick. So you're pretty much just taking up that space that's in there? Does that allow #3 to tighten to #9 without tightening down #9 on it's own? I think I seem to have got it without the foil, I just assembled all the bottom parts but tightened #9 just right to before it stopped turning. Only problem I have now is that the airflow is so gurgly but not leaky. I can't get a nice smooth airflow going.

The trouble is that if you take up that space then the #8 will not lock in properly. I have bought a washer that I will try when I get home. Hopefully this is the right thickness, I fear it may be just a little too much.

The other option is to adjust the #7 plastic seal ring. If it were not as thick that would serve the same purpose as we are talking about now. But I cannot come up with a solution as that exact size seal ring would be needed but just not as thick unlike a rubber o-ring which you can make work. If anyone has any thoughts on that let me know
