The absolute worst thing is to fill a 3.1... I have only had luck with the included bottle that has a rigid plastic point. The steel needle bottles and regular bottles all leak back around the fill port. Eventually the proper little plastic bottle gets worn down and stops working as well. So I ended up always top filling the 3.1, blowing out the little bit of excess juice that gets in the chimney.

They do have proper Luer Lock bottles at Cloud 9, but the cost of shipping $4 plastic bottles across the pond is just not worth it to me.

So I put a Quartz nano tank on my 3.1 and now run it as a dripper! :D

Just don't fill it above the center pin hole and your good to go!

I bought a 10pk of those needle tip bottles just for my v3.1 and KFL+'s. Perfect for filling them but really slow, especially with VG heavy juices. I can use any tip bottles or even droppers to fill the KFv4. I've reverted back to the blunt tip bottles with bigger holes for much faster filling.

I've never filled a KF 3.1 or KFL except from the top, and I've never had leaks at all. I don't even remove it from the mod, unless I have to rewick or clean the atty.

1. Cover airflow hole(s) firmly with finger(s)
2. Unscrew top cap and fill
3. Screw top cap on 1/4 turn
4. With fingers still covering airflow holes, completely invert, and let the liquid settle to the inverted top cap
5. Release fingers from airflow and tighten top cap completely
6. Turn it right side up and vape

That's how I used to do it.

How to you manage to cover all 4 air holes and screw off the top cap. Yikes!

Edit: oops! You were talking about pre-KF4's.

The problem with this is that the chimney is still open so holding the air holes doesn't really do anything.

The airflow hole goes up the center post to the chimney. When you open the top, the chimney is still open so holding the air hole does nothing.
Exactly. Only way it would help is if you covered the drip tip hole as well.

I always filled my 3.1's from top, same way as described. Never flooded the chamber. Not sure why it worked, but it did for me. Haven't used them since getting my 4 Kayfun V4's.

I bought blunt needle tip bottles to fill my 3.1 and KFL+ thru the fill ports. Worked great but wasn't very convenient and it was slow with thick VG juices. Now that I'm using KF v4's, I'm back to my blunt tip bottles and they fill much faster.

I just got a Lemo 2 and it's not bad but won't replace my KF v4's. Filling is easy.

Look, I'm not going to argue about this. I got the idea from Phil Busardo, and I've filled Kayfun 3.1's and Lites hundreds of times with nary a leak. If you follow my process without covering the holes, liquid will flow freely through and out those holes. Holding the holes creates pressure that prevents liquid from entering. It works. But you guys can keep using needle-tipped bottles if you like.

No one is looking to argue, we all do what we like and what works.

I fill my Kayfun Undead and Silverplay through the fill hole on the bottom. The Kayfun 4 through the top and the Flash e-Vapor V3 by pouring liquid into the tank as its the easiest and quickest of them all.

I have a top fill cap coming for my 3.1 es to use with the little quartz nano tank, since taking the top off to fill a nano tank only gets you half of its capacity.

As a new vaper (just 1 year) I hate these bottles; takes forever to fill. I switched to RTAs only when I found those that could be easily filled from eye droppers of even from wide mouth bottle (KF4 and Taifun).

Quick question...

Why does my KV4 pop loudly when I first pick it up to use it?

Background:

Have had this Tobeco KV4 for a while, I prefer RDA but I am revisiting it for the Wife. Built it with 3mm spaced 28 gauge kanthal @ 1.5 ohms powered by iStick 20w @ 13.5 watts. Wicked proper with rayon. Every time the Wife picks it up after not using it the thing will let off a violent pop, then it will be fine for a while. She does not like that. How can I stop it? Juice is 50/50 basic menthol DIY if it matters.
