Yup. It sounds like your wick is oversaturated. Try making a smaller ID coil (2-2.4 mm) and maybe wick with less density. And check your actual wattage--see my post below about iStick...
A smaller coil and/or less dense wick will speed your coil heating time and limit juice flow. Good luck.
Also, check your airflow--it can be adjusted up or down to optimize coil's performance.

Also, remember that the iStick 20 doesn't down regulate, so it fires about 1 whole volt higher than your screen indicates (under 5 volts or so--above 5 volts it's fine). I run mine in voltage mode only and always take this into account. In other words, if your iStick displays 3 volts, you're actually at 4.2 v--on a freshly charged battery.
In other words, your 1.5Ω coil at iStick's 3v (actually 4.2) will generate 11.76 watts... Adjust accordingly.

Just wanted to answer concerns about the Tobeco black finish on the KFv4 clones. Including my own (concerns). A little background: I'm a idiot. I often keep my vape in my lap while driving. I like the black V4 clone atop a black SMPL mech-mod clone, and the stainless V4 atop a stainless SMPL. These mech-mods are great. Barely larger than the 18650 they house. And way more reliable than the various FourNines clones.
As I exit the vehicle, and wonder where my vape is, the vape is tumbling out of my lap, picking up a little spin & steam by bouncing on the runner (isn't that what they call the extension of the floor under the door?), and grindingly smashes hard into the asphalt, brick or concrete of the sidewalk or roadway. And every time I'm amazed that the V4 takes more of a bite out of the sidewalk than the other way around. There may be lots of scratches and dings in the epoxy painted black SMPL finish, but the V4 looks almost new. No question that it's the deepest anodized metal finish I've ever seen. No worries, mate!

I use virtually the same setup, but only at 7.5 watts. I still get some pop-rocks noise from time to time. It's the juice boiling on the coil. At 13.5 I guarantee it will pop.

Actually, there's 5 different flavors there. Dr Juice's Scarlet Eclipse and Crunchberry, QTG's Strawberry cheesecake Shake (x2, the Lemo 2 to test it out with a familiar juice), MBV's Admiral Berry Crunch, Niquid's Maui. I have QTG's Strawberry Milk in one that's not pictured and the last KFv4 is being retired (the very first one from FT).OMG, I got 3 and thought that was a lot. Seems like the airflow is crazy restricted even with the 510 taken out and airflow maxed open.

What is it they say about assumption...well they all sound delicious and haven't tried any of those (still stuck in the Custard phase!) so I made a note of the names. I have a FT type A from back in December also, doesn't see much action anymore.

I would easily recommend Crunchberry and Strawberry cheesecake shake. Maui is a pretty good fruity vape. Admiral Berry Crunch has a slight tobacco flavor to it. Scarlet Eclipse had a floral aroma but after steeping a week, it's mellowed and tastes much better.
QTG has a Steal of the Week where one flavor is a few bucks cheaper. Shipping isn't bad and the juice is really good for the price. 120ml for $30-$35 shipped! Dr Juice is a premium juice but Crunchberry is worth it ($60 for 120ml, $51 with code: vapingcheap15). I got some Vape Wild samples at an expo and they smell pretty good.
Oh, if only I could...
Due to my location I am either limited to whatever is available here or must attempt DIY clones of rarely snagged samples, International orders =long waits and high shipping costs..I don't suppose you're planning a Caribbean vacation this summer?

Curious I am, just keying off the name. But where do you get the Maui. My wife's favorite flavor was called Maui. Got it from a local vendor, who mixed some great flavors but he went out of business. Maybe it's time to try someone else's Maui.
