I saw that. I haven't put a DMM on mine but it's been a stable vape and varies from .16Ω - .17Ω when I move the JC.

Take the 510 screw (1) out from the bottom. Then push out the nut and bushing that it screws into (10,11). Unscrew (9) and it should come apart.

The problem lies in the fact that the fluctuation difference in resistance when firing doesn't display on the screen but the board sees it and make the necessary voltage changes. Changes that are greater because of the added resistance of the spring. What I'm trying to say here is to get an accurate resistance reading of the spring it has to be done under load using the voltage drop method.
Imagine you measured the resistance of your battery cable running from your battery to your starter and it reads good. Next replace the wire with one that is only half the gauge necessary and measure it's resistance, still good, but energize the starter and the starter has lost power.

Well I just did what I should have done to begin with and ordered a tobeco one. Hopefully I like it better than the red o-ring mystery brand kf4.

Funny, I don't remember being this picky about colors of o-rings back when I smoked cigarettes.

Dan, I bought the same one and swapped out the O-rings with the suggested sizes and the FT is as good as the Tobeco. Those O-rings are just to soft.

Yeah, that probably would have been fine, but I didn't have any o-rings around. Rather than buying black o-rings, I did the most logical thing, and bought one that comes with black o-rings. xD

Mine from Codevape has black o-rings

Speaking of o-rings, I'm starting to have a pretty good selection.

HOLY o-rings batman.

Yeah, they have two versions apparently, their initial stock of 500 was the one you got, which they told me they still have around 50 left. They have since switched, and said they will update their product page with new pics, and thanked me for bringing it to their attention. They are being great about my return request, even after I opened it, so I cannot fault them too much.

I would have never ordered it from them had I known this was what I was getting.

Done, Got the Tobeco one off ebay :) Thanks

Get one. Seriously that much better than the FT "A" version. I had an issue with the (16) o-ring so I bought some thicker ones. Turns out they were too thick so I sanded them down to fit so no more leaking. The bottom has a lot of play but fine when JC is wide open or closed. Threads are sloppy. My lower tank segment (28) was stuck on the evap chamber (26) so I had to use pliers to separate them and it left some marks on (26) and bent the edge on (28) so I had to order another one (ordered both, actually). There was some flash in the air screw hole I had to clean to get the air screw to work. Once all those issues were worked out, it vaped great. I actually used it 99% of the time since I got it over a week ago.

The Tobeco vapes just like the FT but blows it away in fit and finish. I had to do nothing to the Tobeco version to work. Nothing. I cleaned it, put a ni200 build on it and it just worked. Threading seems much better as there's very little play in all the parts while going together and while it's together. Tobeco's are all over the place now and cheap. I don't know if it's just the one I got but I ordered another one off eBay. I also have one coming from FC.

The FT "A" air screw threads are a bit crunchy. Turning it in had some resistance at first but now it works on mine. When it's screwed all the way in, there is no air flow.

Well there you go... I've been whining about the Type A (too much) air flow for a week now. After I read this sentence, ^ it struck me that maybe I was a bit gentle on re-assembly. I screwed the fire pin out... and after torquing the air screw clockwise it let go and turned another 3 turns ... closing the air off. Awesome... finally able to adjust the draw where I want it.
Man these things are quirky.

Got the Tobeco one sitting in pieces in front of me. Haven't vaped it yet, but on first glance, it's very clean. Very faint machine oil smell, so I put it in a 30 minute soap + hot water bath and then scrubbed it with a toothbrush. Hopefully that will take care of any weird taste. Machining seems to be better as well. I didn't take it apart completely (didn't take the JC apart) but all air and liquid holes are clean and no burrs or weird pieces of metal are stuck in the juice channels. So far so good!

Also, interestingly, the frosted full plastic tank seems a bit sturdier than the FT clear tank.

I just hope the air flow is better. Even with the air screw removed on the FT version it's still too restrictive for a lung inhale for me, and even for a mouth to lung inhale it's still a bit tight. Although, that's probably going to be the same with both versions (and the authentic) and I should probably just get the 4S kit.

So, I adjusted the air flow screw and now the ehp juice control will not turn. If I remove the afc screw from the Tobeco and the ehp, will they fall apart in my hands or work just fine....and will the freaking juice control operate like it's supposed too?????

They should work fine with the AFC screw removed.

Tobeco on the right, FT on the left:

Interestingly, with both afc screws removed, the Tobeco is noticeably airier.

The threading on the Tobeco is much nicer and with the JC fully open it's still solid. No wobbling of any sort. I think having the correct sized o-ring in there really helps keep things snug. There's also a noticeable difference between the JC's on both in terms of stiffness. The Tobeco is smooth but stiffer and doesn't feel wobbly at all. Much more solid.

The engravings are also nicer and the plastic tank's threads are better as well. You can really tell the threading is improved over the FT version because the build deck is far easier to thread into the tank. I'm very happy with this one. I don't know who would even buy my FT one used at this point.

On one of mine it was screwed the whole way in, no air at all.

Woohoo my Artemus order DID arrive. First and last one unfortunately..

Mine arrived too. Now I have to find time to build my Kayfun V4, Aqua V2, Expromizer, Erlk, Orchid V6, and about 4-5 RDAs that have been sitting waiting for me. Vape mail has been incoming so fast lately that I've gotten horribly backlogged. :)

I'm sorry for a stupid question since I didn't read the whole thread but which clone of KF v4 is the best FT, amod - codevape, tobeco and etc? I read FT clone has an incorrect o-ring #16 which will be corrected somewhere in the future, ehpro - bad reviews.

From what I've been reading here, Tobeco is the best. I have one in stainless steel now and hopefully a Black one coming tomorrow morning.
