I have a FT B version and 2 Tobecos (SS and Black). I use a tighter draw for mouth to lung hits. I would say it's equal to an EHPro KFL+ almost wide open but with the screw still in. I find it gets gurgly or slurpy...not really sure how to describ it. It doesn't leak out the air holes just sounds kind of weasy(fairly annoying). I am trying to figure out if it's leaking. I find it hard to believe both the Tobecos are leaking and I am relatively sure that the FT is. I replaced #16 o-ring with a new buna N70 11x1.5 but still gets a decent amount of juice down to the air holes. I would try the size up like dwcraig has but it's $10 shipping to Canada from the o-ring store so not really interested in dumping any more cash and 2 more weeks of waiting into it.

So anybody have a similar air flow setting experiencing this? It's not that bad but does bug me so I figured I would see if I am alone on this. Apart from that they have been vaping well but I was hoping for less noise then my KFLs.

On another note this thread has been very helpful so that's to all who have participated.
Maybe make sure your wick isn't touching the part of the deck right next to the air hole creating a siphon? I read about that through my trials and tribulations. Worth a peek maybe?

**Also - I'm still getting nice bubbles after almost every pull like you would expect! So pumped. Haha. Loving this thing at the moment!

It is my understanding that the outer layers are to be removed when using japanese cotton. Glad it is working for you.

Alright folks - evening check in. ***Good news*** (I hope).

Everything seems to be working nicely now. And I think the culprit was me using too much (too thick) of Japanese cotton. This time I ripped off the outer layers of the pad and fluffed really good before tucking down in gently. I cut it around 22mm or around the width of the unit itself.

Sorry these pics are in landscape... It was tough taking the shots with wet and oily fingers while holding my Phablet... Haha. But looking at these pics of my latest "trouble build" it was abundantly clear to me that I had way to much (wide/dense) cotton in there.

The last pic you can see a shot of my fresh wick, looking good. When I filled it up (no leaks in the Tobeco mind you) and turned the juice back on, I got some nice satisfying bubbles!! Then my first 5 pulls I watched and saw more bubbles each time and good flavor staying.

Hopefully this helps someone else in the future. I'll report back if it's too good to be true, but this was a nice full top off and no issues right off the bat - which is extremely promising! Now I hope I can get the ehpro black version working and to stop leaking on fills... If not - I have another tobeco anyway (Yes I went all in on the v4 Clones... Haha. Glad it seems I'm solving my little mystery).

Ya live, ya learn, you get better. Thanks VERY MUCH for the help from this forum!

Oh and finally - I moved the coil up just a tad as well.

I actually leave the outer layers on. I seperate the pad in half and trim to desired width. Seems to work fine for me, although I know many take the outer layer off.

Cool thanks for the comments. I'll probably continue taking the outer layer off then since it worked this time. Also think I've been packing the coil too tight in my Kayfun lite plus all along as well.

I also rewicked the ehpro with the doughnut pounder thick juice and it's VASTLY improved too. Still might need an occasional quick harder pull (no covering of the air hole needed). But like 90% improved.

So glad to hear things are improving! They are great tanks, but like every new thing take some getting used to and adjusting.

I decided to try something different in my Tobeco. I have really been enjoying a dual coil build in my Lemo Drop so I decided to try something similar in the Kayfun V4. I don't have a sub-ohm kit so I tried to keep it around an ohm. This is 12 wraps of 28g Kanthal with an ID of 2mm. Ohms out to about 0.9 and delivers a ton of vapor with intense flavor.

I've tried it both ways and it really doesn't make a difference if you remove the outer layers. They are still cotton. The key is to fluff it. The only time I take off one of the outer layers is if I have cut my strip a little too wide.

I took out the air control screw on both of my Tobeco Kayfun V4 clones :) and I really like the air flow compared to what it was like before. No leaks or any issues to speak of.

Big difference or just slight??? Contemplating take mine out. Still a little tight for me wide open.

I found it to be slight, if any change. Take it out, try it yourself, but I didn't notice much difference.

Drilling the center post however did make a noticeable difference to me.

Just a little info about restriction of flow though a duct (pipe, hole, ect.) It doesn't take much size wise to increase the flow at a given pressure. For example a 1 mm ID 'is increased to 2 mm ID, that's 4 x the volume. So if your 1 mm (hole, tube , duct, ect.) was increased to 1.25 mm the result is 50% increase in flow.

(I almost went sideways there)

I measured the "stock" center post from my Tobeco kit and came up with 2.2 mm, the sub kits state 2.7 mm. That puts it some where above 40% increased flow.

I just placed another order with Oringsandmore.com for 12 x 1.5mm and 11 x 1.5mm. I have 12.1 x 1.6mm orings and they're too thick so I sand them down to fit but it's a PITA so I figured I'd just order different sizes to try out.

My black Tobeco is getting a bit slurpy but it looks like it's condensation in the air chamber between (3) and (8). A couple of quick hard puffs and it clears up which is different than the FT and FC problem where there was juice in the chamber. My silver Tobeco is still perfect.
