^^^^^ So do you tap the hole or grind out the housing to get the nut on?

I punched out the old 510 with a 3lb hammer and punch on a 2x4 with a hole drilled in it for the 510 to drop. Then I drilled out the hole with a 3/8" bit on a press and then thread it with a 10 x .5mm tap.

Thank both you guies for your service, I refuse to like the comment though.

Your welcome. It really was my pleasure. I actually enjoyed my Navy time. Just didn't realize how much until after I retired. ☺

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

OK, I could not locate the tap, where to get it?

I just discovered how to make a grand mess with a Kayfun V4. It's pretty simple, really, but pay attention. Pour liquid in until you're not seeing where it is, and it starts to dribble down the chimney. At that point, and this is critical, quickly screw D38 into the swamp, so the filed off surfaces don't have a chance to relieve pressure, then continue turning to open the Juice Control. Thinking all is shipshape, give 'er some toots. At some point soon you'll notice that things aren't going well, she's vaping a bit dry, so plug the air holes and aspirate. Watch in amazement as half the tank vanishes ... somewhere. Enjoy the wiggly feel of warm glycerin all over your other hand, as you rush the kleenex box with your leading hand, knock over a few items like, say a couple Genesis mods, a bottle of glycerin, and try to rescue documents on your desk. It can be done!

Maybe along with cloud chasers we should organize leak competitions.

I demand to know WHY the so-called "mechanical mods", which are little more than threaded tubing, are glorified into costing over $20 on e-bay. Anybody know a cheap source that's still reasonably swift on delivery?

Still vaping like a champ! it was still going strong on a 3rd tank of dark juice, but I decided to re-wick with some Koh gen do (Japanese cotton) this stuff is really good it wicks so much better than organic cotton balls or silica If you haven't tried it give it a try it also gives a cleaner/crisper flavor than organic cotton balls :) I haven't had a leak, gurgle or dry hit with either wick! I normally vape around 3mls of liquid a day I could not put this thing down and vaped two tanks yesterday not because it drinks juice its because its such a pleasure to vape!!! Yummm :)

I feel your pain. Perhaps I'm a bigger putz than most, but I've found way (all my fault) to make just about anything leak. When I do things slowly and carefully, I have great luck with the K4. But I'm not known for my care or patience...

My personal specialty is to completely disassemble things, being extra careful not to make any mistakes and then forget to put a critical o-ring back in place. Done it more times than I can count...

Lol. Like the boner I did yesterday.... Filled it up, vaped, then decided I should rewick. No problem, that's what a v4 is great for .....

So I take out the coil, looking for something to lean the inverted tank against so all that fresh juice won't spill. Braindead moment... Oh, I'll just unscrew the part where the drip tip plugs in, won't tip over then.

Doh.

I think we need a bloopers section of this forum. That way, all of us "special" people could go there to feel less alone in our moments of ingenuity.

Lol, welcome to my world .... Of paper towels everywhere.

I hear ya on mechs. Picked up a 4nine super cheap ($12)from Artemis, he also has smpl's less then 20. Maybe not the fastest shipper out there, but came in less than a week & I'm happy.

I started using toilet paper, the cheap kind because it's doesn't have lint like the soft stuff I use for my .... :p. Cheaper than kleenex or paper towels and you don't waste a bunch for small leaks.

I pop off the drip tip. More stable than on the drip tip and won't drop all your juice.

My mod collection is in direct proportion to paper towel & napkin consumption. I've actually wondered what health effects of vape juice on your hands is.

Yea, I'm 'special'. :). Poster boy probably.

I've wondered this myself. Nicotine can be absorbed thru your skin but at these levels, it's probably not harmful. I still avoid skin contact if possible and at least rinse my hands as soon as possible.

A tip I found that works pretty well. If you get some slurping because your (16) o-ring leaks, you can remove the 510 screw and stuff a rolled up tissue in there to absorb the juice. Reinstall the screw and it's clean again. Much easier than taking the whole base apart. I find that juice can get in there sometimes (or maybe condensation) and cleaning it out works well for the rest of the tank.

Hahaha! Almost as good as my first re-wick. I un-screwed the base from the tank and plopped that tank open side down on the coffee table... didn't even think about it... thought of it as a sealed tank for some reason (which i know it' s not lol) and set her down. Must have had a decent suction seal and i didnt see any juice leak until i went to pick it up and the entire tank was instantly released all over the table. Ugh.

Well after weeks of much anger towards my first V4 ive now grabbed a second one, this time the Hcigar version, 316ss and no logo - right off the bat its heavier than my ijoye (i dont even know that company) one, threading is super smooth - the juice control section tightens up and stays tight, it has some side to side play with no build deck inserted, but i dont know if thats normal, when in the open and closed position its tight. The 4 holes in the deck are done right on the hcigar, with the holes carving a channel and they are straight instead of on the piss like my other one.

Theres one thing ive wanted to ask but i wasnt sure if it was my duff version or not, but this is also present on the hcigar version - the main chimney with the 6 holes in it, if you look at them are they all equal and straight, or does 1 or 2 dip or actually higher than the rest of them, hard to explain but hope someone will know.

Ill get this one cleaned up (hardly any oil smell or residue) and coil'd and wick'd tonight and give it a good test side by side with the other one, and im hoping the hcigar works from the off. Still its cheaper than an original but im kinda wishing i had bought one now lol.
