If you check my signature banner it's 3 years and a couple days. When I started vaping the big thing in clones were Ego batteries and their attachments.
Then came the poor imitations of the high end stuff, more junk. Then Rainbow made the Terminator (Ody clone) and that started the change to quality clones.
vaping hardware including clones has really came along way in three years, if only the governments would back off a bit it will continue to advance.

svoemesto must of used a Chinese manufacturer to produce the V4. really can't see how all these Chinese firms had the V4 out only weeks after it became available for retail. scandalous at the price point they are selling it for.

Just set the part down and push the copy button and it prints out the CAD files, something like that anyways.
There were plenty of samples floating around prior to it's release date.

Yup.
My first mech was a Rainbow iSeason, which was a higher quality clone of the side firing Adam mod. Mod is still being used daily by daughter.
Rainbow turned the quality clone market on its ear several years back, showing other cloners that it's more than just price.

And the whole vaping phenomenon is much safer now. Recent findings with first Gen cartomizers show metal particles in liquid and dangerous nanoparticles in aerosol (vapor). They note sloppy soldering is responsible. The miniaturization of ecig components to resemble cigarettes was a big problem. Now with comfortable build decks and DIY coils there is a completely different situation. Thank heaven!

I would have thought the Svoe Mesto CAD files were copied. Is it now really a pushbutton affair to copy a 3D object consisting of 42 parts? What specifically is used?

No but disassembled each part can be cloned individually. :)

Of course, I would imagine laser scanning, but is there a specific
hardware/software setup that's known?

Amigos! look at the secret of the KickButt wicking. I'm going to rewick it,
it's getting a bit mungy. But look at how the trimming of the cotton at a
slope made all the fibers stand exactly straight in the well without any
catching in the threading or laying down on the deck. That's the ticket.

Here is a good example of early HQ clones, both were quite popular and they were still kind of pricey due to Rainbow setting the selling prices.
The mod and the atty pictured both have some additional modification but the basic setup in the early days was about $180 for both.
MKB-TS with Terminator utilizing a GGTS connector.

I bought a Kayfun 3.1 early on and sold it 20 days later because I couldn't get it to work better than the $34 Terminator that Eric at Discountvapers sold me.
He got on the wrong side of Rainbow with that and they stopped selling to him.

That sure is a beauty. What year was this?

I started vaping in late 2010, and the eGo setup was the most practical then. When expensive stuff like Reo appeared, a Vapage VMod was more affordable. The handmods like that Greek thing turned me off, it was way way out of line for a bit of threaded and polished SS tubing. The handmoders created the clone market by being IMHO greedy.

BTW, here's the (pre-wet) sloped trim on the KickButt KFV4 build that makes the whole bottom of the wick "just kiss the deck". By the mustache of comrade Stalin!

^^^ That was December 2012 for the Terminator and April 2013 for the MKB-TS
Both near 1:1 GG copies, only near. I have 3 mods like that and maybe 6 atties including Ithaka and Hercules (a couple original).
The picture has the Terminator sporting a Ithaka style tank and the mod has a Ghostmodder's brass GGTS button ($40)

Did you say "Reo"?

It took me a minute or two to figure just how you knew that but a cat usually spots a mouse.
Right brained don't you mean?

Yup I saw the mouse before I noticed the Lemo drop box on the left, but didn't see the Lemo. :) Could be I never could keep the sides of my brain straight anyway :p

Seem like an ex-cigar smoker, too. Heck, we save so much money
on cigs and stogies, we can even afford Reos!

I'm confused. Oy-bay knocked vapeomg's Kayfun V4s out of the sky.
But some of his other offerings are still active ?!

Including the very cool Tobeco V2 Big Dripper. Press the drip tip
and it squonshes a little juice on yer coil. Lung hits like a toilet paper
roll, no obstruction ;-)

I have near that many tanks not pictured, then there's the drippers. Still not finished cleaning all of them.
Then I need to polish the tube mods. I need a nice box.

There seems to be no shortage of other Ebay sellers stocking them.
