Hey, I tried something new to clean the flavors out of my atty (I didn't have any gunk, just flavor build up). I tried running water through, I tried soaking in coke, I tried just letting them drain overnight. I decided to try something different and soaked my atty in VG. I have a set of 901 round carts wish soft silicone caps, and I took and put one on one end poured in VG, and put one on the other and let it sit for a couple of days. When I drained it back out I got out lots of the berry juice I'd used(I'd been vaping a fruit punch with pom in it so it was red and therefore noticeable). Now that atty works almost as good as new. This would prob also work fine with just putting it in a glass or something and pouring VG over it and letting it soak.

Very inventive Kelly! Glad it worked. I was at my wits end when I made some rootbeer flavor..it would NOT go away! I used vodka. One of the guys P.M.ed me about that and it worked..what a waste of vodka though. I don't drink but once a year so it shouldn't have bothered me..it did:p
It worked again when I made plum..yuck!
I keep one atty dedicated to menthol, because that comes through for quite a while.

I don't typically keep alcohol in the house, plus my atty I cleaned with coke burns super hot now, not a good effect IMO it gives all the juices a burned taste, and it still released a lot of juice after a vg soaking (I haven't tried any extensive vaping with that one yet, but it doesn't burn so super hot now either). I wouldn't try anything that caustic again unless the atty was gunky. I'm glad to have an alternative to it to get flavors out cause I tried a lavender flavored one and I just can't get that taste out of the atty lol so now it's soaking.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I haven't really had this problem yet. I've only vaped a few flavors as I'm still pretty "new". Strawberry, Rush, Banana, and one that's labeled "apple" but I'll be darned if I can taste or smell any apple whatsoever. I've been using the same attys from day one (July8th) and the only time I get a "mixed" flavor is if I vape the banana one. But it's gone after about 5 minutes. I'm still waitin for my first LorAnn flavors to arrive in the mail and then I'm guessing that I might have to return to this post and try a few ideas out to clean out the residual flavors.

It's ones like coffee, rum, and tobacco mixes that really linger...and lavender; I'm telling you just don't do lavender it's sur-really disgusting in a pleasant sorta way, your nose says nice your tongue says keep that sh!+ away from me!8-o

Michele, I had the very same problem! None of the fruits tasted like anything to me. I got Lorann's and boost the flavor. but now I don't need the lorann's unless it's to make my own flavors. You will get your taste back and it's wonderful! I can even taste pear..and that's a vry delicate flavor..one of my favorites!:p

Yanno, I think that's why I like Vaporstation's Rush and Stawberry. They are still the only two that I can smell and taste.

Mary Kay how long did it take for your taste to come completely back?

That's an easy peesy one to fix..it took two threads for me to understand..but it's saved many a batt for me!
Look at the threaded end of the batt with the hole in it..got it? OK
Now stick a pin or a bent paperclip in the hole, just a tiny bit..that's too far, back up!
Now angle it to one side and GENTLY pull up a bit..yep!
Now do the same to the other side. Try to be even.
Try it with an atty.
Did that work?
What happens is that post of the batt (the center thing with the hole in it) gets smooshed down just enough to make it lose contact with the atty. Most here on the board will tell you to keep the same atty and batt together at all times..but I am not that organized and sometimes I just like the look of a silver batt with a blue atty.
That's one thing to try if your batt is still taking a charge.
Let me know if it worked. Otherwise we will have to plan "B" it. That involves a frog at midnight under a full moon though.

good advice, I might have to try that with my SE gold that wouldn't charge (not a bad device, but not as good as the 901, however it some instances the classic cig look is nice)
