6/7 wraps 2.5mm coil comes out to about 1.5 ohms and vape at 20 watts, been using it for a few years, flavor is great.

another random question; has anyone ever tried the "M2L fused clapton coils" svoemesto sells on their site?

    specs are listed as follows:
    Technical Details:

    Inner coil diameter: 2.5 mm

    Core wire: 2 x 0.25 mm Kanthal A1

    Sheathed wire: 0.1 mm NiCr

    Single coil for MTL
    -------
Thry say they are made by Clear Coils. anyone ever tried them, or tried building ysing the same wires? if so, i'd love to hear about your experience

Fused Clapton or Alien is all I use. 3 mm ID and .25 ohm. I’m not using a tank by SVM. You could do MTL with it, but it would have to be a short pull IMO. In my tank, it needs a lot of airflow to keep it from being too hot.

It’s a warm vape - I run it at 50W. It’s also very dense and flavorful. Also the coil burns a lot of juice.

Since Primes and others by SVM tend to be tall tanks, it might not be as warm and MTL would be more doable.

I'm doing something wrong and need help from you guys. I ran a Prime, a V5 and a V5 Squared for a couple of weeks. Kanthal coils between about 0.7 and 1.4, wattage between 12 and 15, cotton wicks. None leaked. None got to tasting bad. My juice, which does gunk coils, didn't change color in the tanks as it does with Kabukis and some others when it's time to change the coil and wash the tank. I just figured since it was Saturday I probably needed to clean and re-wick.

First shot is one of the tanks showing the juice at about its normal color. Second shot is the desk, which is nasty as hell. Third shot is inside the bell, which looks like the black hole of Calcutta.

So I've taken all three tanks apart, washed them in running water, now I'm soaking in some warm water and Dawn. Anything that doesn't come clean I'll hit with a Q-tip and some alcohol. Then I'll re-lube the rings and put back together.

My question is, I guess, did I use too much wick and cause more gunk, or is this just something I'm going to have to live with using my standard juice?

    Many thanks.

    What is your "standard" juice?

Space Jam Eclipse, which is now called Nuria. The bottle says it's Cavendish Tobacco. I cannot taste the tobacco. Others tell me its aroma is similar to Captain Black pipe tobacco aka Dunhill 20000 or Black 'N' Mild cigars.

I stumbled onto it early in my vape career, and it's the only one I don't get tired of, and I've tried lots.

My experience with cavendish is they are gunky. Of course, cavendish can be many different things but it is probably safe to assume they are gunky. I'm talking 5mls or less before a dry burn and wick change is required. The large majority of NETs are gunky. If they're trashing your coils at 5mls or less then that is normal for any atomizer using any coil.

when i had my 4 clone, the top part of the condensing chamber/bell was always disgusting as i tend to use very sweet juices. comes with the top of the chamber being shaped in that stepped fashion, but anything that gets that thin at the top will likely have residue build up.

as for the coils, if the juice is a gunker, that seems on par with what to expect in a tank wjth such small spaces.

sidenote: i ordered a good amount of 30g kanthal and 38g nichrome that svoemesto's m2l fused claptons are made of; gonna use my new Deadalus Pro+ Coil Jig thingy to hopefully make some picture perfect fused clapton wire. here is the listing on their website: M2L Fused Clapton Coil

their listing says 0.73 ohms or somethung along those lines. very curious as to how it will perform in different mtl, tanks as well

I gave up on gunky juices a long time ago. Trashing cotton in only a few mls makes vaping too much hard work. It becomes a chore. I like to get at least 2 or 3 full days between rewicking.

If a juice tastes too good on the first vape, it probably is too good to be true, laced with sweeteners and will be black within the hour.

That is definitely a show stopper. I like raw NETs but the gunking gets old. This is one reason why I enjoy HHV NETs. They burn clean. 10 - 20mls of rewicking depending on your sensitivity. Besides, they just taste great.

A big thank you to all of you for your thoughts. I was hoping I was doing it wrong. Apparently not.

For way more years than smoking cigs or cigars I smoked a pipe. And like a lot of pipe smokers in the 70's started with what the pipe store called a "toasted cavendish." It was jet black, wet and would gunk up your pipe quickly. Over time I worked into Dunhill's Early Morning Pipe, which is a typical English blend but is light on the Latakia. The downside is to the smoker it tastes great; to everyone else its aroma is not the best, to put it politely.

When I started vaping I tried to find something like Dunhill Early Morning Pipe or My Mixture 965, which is close cousin, and could not find one I liked. Then I hit on Space Jam Eclipse and been vaping it ever since. I do vape other juices from time to time, including HHV's Nada, but mostly it's Eclipse.

So I guess I'm going to have to live with the heavy cleaning, but do it more often to avoid it becoming a major job.

Which is why I thought 'Let's get a Therion BF, put a Berserker MTL RDA on it and just pull everything out every two days'. I'm not sure if it was the squonking or just the let down of my juice not tasting the same (S&V instead of pre-mixed) and the fact that the Berserker RDA was not to my liking, but that whole plan failed.

Sound advice. I do the same. A quick soak in fairly hot water always does the trick. Everything tastes better after a deep clean. Amazing how much dirt can build up on the internals or the chimney etc over the space of a week or so.

I am a squonker. What I do is to mix my own 90 VG 10 DI water and fill my bottle with that. I drop three or four drops of HHV Dragon Fire 36 mg into the drip tip. I get good flavor, not too much gunk and it works for me. I've been doing this for a while now.
