I'm posting here because I still assume that the T-Rex and MaxX are the same actual device.

We've had our MaxX's for a few weeks now, maybe a month. And I'll say it straight-up, they're CRAP.

all three of them have become quite finicky with respect to charging. It doesn't matter if they are on a standard "mains charger" or a USB "fast charger. Sometimes in lieu of actually charging they'll just sit there and blink... forever. You can take them off, sequence the power button, wait a little while, and pray to the micro-controller Gods.. and ultimately they'll become satisfied with your ovations and actually begin to charge. At that point I think we are supposed to be thankful and appreciative of their sacrifice.

Sorry.. these are an "AVOID" proposition.

Ive had mine for a month now as well and use it side by side with the riva i ordered it at the same time. i agree with the above part, havent had issue with them falling apart but i wouldnt be surprised if they did. i left one of the batteries on the charger and went to bed and when i woke up the led ring was blinking so i took it off the charger and it was still completely dead from the night before. i had to leave for work so i grabbed my rivas and left the maxx off charge (didnt want it melting on my countertop or burning my house down). i did try charging it when i got home and could watch it and it charged fine. i can also feel the battery moving around in the battery casing, a little shifting of weight inside thats not there with the riva. i really like the led ring and silver trim over the gold on the riva but the build quality just isnt comparable. i havent used an ego or a hello but i'd put the riva over the maxx any day of the week.

(Loving the HOUSE quotes)

I'm so taken by the show, thanks to you for bringing it to my attention. I call it the best sit-com ever. And the writers are brilliant. The lines have that quotable Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy-like thing going.

---
Rebecca: (about House) He's your friend, huh?
Dr. Wilson: Yeah.
Rebecca: Does he care about you?
Dr. Wilson: I think so.
Rebecca: You don't know?
Dr. Wilson: As Dr. House likes to say, "Everybody lies."
Rebecca: It's not what people say. It's what they do.
Dr. Wilson: (pause) Yeah. He cares about me.

Gosh, I don't know you at all, Kent. Of all the memorable lines from that masterpiece show, that quote is touching! [In case there is any doubt, although I love hard-edged sarcasm, I think 'touching' is quite wonderful.]

I finally got around to checking out this Jack Handy thing. Pleasant; doesn't remind me of House at all.

Not to run off on too much of a tangent.. but I didn't get all caught up in the "House" thing in the beginning. Some network was having a House marathon one night, and with nothing better to do, I watched an episode or two. I was hooked.

Went out and got all of the seasons on DVD, and every night the wife unit and I would sit down and make our way through an episode or two, until we got "current". Got to the "end" (current) and I almost wanted to go back and do it all again.

Simply well done in so many ways.

I know. You're not alone.

If you know the characters, likely the most touching line of all. A tribute to House not having to say it and a tribute to Wilson to know that.

That line, no. But many others are. If you don't see it, you're missing something in one or the other or both. Handy can be more obscure or mean, but sometimes not.

Dr. Cameron: We've got rectal bleeding.
House: What, all of you!?

Same here - tuned in one episode - Dave Mathews - didn't care for it much and never returned. Saw a rerun from 'nothing else interesting on at all!' and got a bit hooked, another, more hooked. another - it's like Vicodin! I've been tempted to get the DVD's but the puzzling mixed up chronology is a bit interesting. lol

Maybe we're the only ones that find these funny or interesting but to me, many can stand on their own without the context.

----

House: Great battles kick up a lot of dirt. Obscures the battle field, so the generals can't see what's going on.
Dr. Wilson: So what are your orders, General House?
House: Sound a retreat!

[Of course! then you can see the battlefield again. ;-) It's not just a joke.]

/end of hijacking.....

The T-Rex, just got mine 24 hours ago.

I really like the look of the battery, so far it feels sturdy. I got 8 hours out of the charge for how I vape. The last 2 hours of vaping I noticed that the heat dropped down, before the battery died. My Joye 510 was giving better vapor on the same atty when I went to check it.

The cone is a little too tight for air flow, I'll have to mod it soon. I tried one of my regular carts on the stock atty (not a Joye), very little vapor. I don't think the screen was getting hot in there. So I tried one of the carts that came with the T-Rex. Crap. The one stock cart I used finished off the stock atty by pushing the screen in and shorting it out.

I am not even going to try putting one of the T-Rex carts on another atty. :(

The cartos that I got seem to work fine on the battery, but the cone is tight, I mean really tight for air flow, I'll have to shave 1/32" off the end to get it right.

The T-Rex kit is not for the first time PV user! :nah:

I am not made of money so I'll have to make the best of this kit. I did get it for $52 on sale, only $4 more then my first Joye 510 kit, so if it can outlast I'll be happy. (Add $15 for the 2 attys I'll have to buy for it.)

I wish I found this forum before I ordered the T-Rex. From what I read, it could fall apart, so a little tip... when changing attys and cartos hold the silver ring.

I'll keep this thread updated on how it works.

I had purchased 2 t-rex kits, 1 for a friend 2 months ago, & neither kit has had ANY problems, there was only 1 problem when charging you have to push the button in sometimes if it won't charge, other than that we both have found that the t-rex has been an excellent mod. The T-Rex, Hs-710, Maxx, Riva & etc. are all basically the same. But having our own opinions, is what makes the world go round.

... but deciphering between the chaff and the wheat will maintain the piggy bank on cruise control.

I believe that folks need to listen to folks that have established credibility (like Scottbee) vice jumping on any and every band wagon that comes along.

:D I live on a small Island (2nd smallest in the Hawaiian chain) and there are limited resources to buy a T-Rex locally - I am just happy that I have someone here for support. Sorry I'm new to this forum thing and didn't know it would sound suspicious.

My whole point is that I started with the 510 (Never had problems, but I was ALWAYS changing batteries or attys to get a strong vap) and just love the T-Trex Vapor/Taste Quailty without having to carry an arsonel of parts to get it. The a small but appreciated amount of help from my sales person makes it easy to over look the issue w/ the glue breaking.

you paid $225 for a rebel kit, which includes just one battery?? Sorry, but that's nuts:facepalm:

Love my t-rex. Love the charger. Love everything about it and I've ordered more. If you use it right, it works the way it's supposed to. I have no mechanical issues, no button issues, no quality issues. Nothing but proper function and awesome form. I also have 5 regular eGo's but the t-rex is my favorite due to the l.e.d on the band rather the button. Sure sympathize with those that have had problems, but I've had none.

That DOES sound nuts!

By the way, i am thinking of getting some T-rex parts since everyone says that they are the same as the Maxx. So i guess they should be cheaper.

So far, i found these to be the cheapest on my list - T-Rex - Electric Cigarette | Ecigarette | E-Cig |Mini Electronic Cigarette | Quitting Smoking

I bought bulk atties from them at a great deal and it works well. Before i pull the trigger to get T-rex stuff from them, anyone knows of anywhere selling cheaper?

I need them shipped to S.E.A.

a quick revival...i just recieved a pair of T-rex batteries as a gift and i'm rather taken by them. thus far, i've played with an NPro, a pair of SmokeStiks (including a Pitbull beta), a regular 510 manual and 510 mega. i've forgone use of my mega for the time being to play with these beasties, and thus far with both carts and cartos, i'm pleased. the only gripe i have is one of the batts is being finicky with the charger, but despite oz best efforts, i haven't been able to pull em apart. i'll keep trying though, and i'll givemy opinion after a week or so.
