because the prophets had foretold that the coming King would be descended from David......also, it would be a good time to read the prophetic Psalm written by David......Psalm 22........and compare it to the crucifixion story.....

Psalm 22 - Passage.Lookup - New International Version, ©2010 - BibleGateway.com

just one example of many...
16 Dogs surround me,
a pack of villains encircles me;
they pierce[e] my hands and my feet.
17 All my bones are on display;
people stare and gloat over me.
18 They divide my clothes among them
and cast lots for my garment.

God had promised David through the Davidic Covenant that a descendant of David would sit on the throne of Jerusalem forever. This can be followed through 1 and 2 Kings showing a descendant of David as the king of Judah all the way through the New Testament and Jesus, the King of Kings, reigning forever. All through the Old Testament is prophecy of the Messiah coming from the tribe of Judah.

Beautiful explanation of Scripture. This clarified the question for me. Thank you Padre! :)

That part blessed me Padre. Something in my chest rose in excitement as I came to that point.

I named my youngest son Judah. The little blessing is 10 weeks old today. I have grandkids older than him lol.

I know you are a proud Daddy, EH! Tell him/her Happy Birthday for me. I love the name! You named him after his Savior.....the Lion of Judah! Enjoy each and every day with him! How exciting. I hope you'll be able to post a picture. I'm sure we'd all love to see him! I think he is our first baby member!:)

Named for "Praise". Benjamin because momma likes Paul but that doesn't fit. Paul means "right hand" symbolizing strength, so Judah Benjamin = Strong Praise!

Yes, I am a proud pappa!

I have a pic but not on a website that I can link. Is it possible to insert one from the PC??

You can upload the picture to Imageshack.com (you don't need an account), once the pic is uploaded click on the image and it will bring you to a page where you can copy the forum link, then when you get here just clink on the "Insert Image" link, it's a picture in the toolbar in the reply box. Make sure you highlight the whole box including the http and then paste the link....hope my instructions are clearer than mud, lol!
