Yes indeed a monopoly is illegal. However Phillip Morris is now headquartered in Switzerland. They also bought out Green Smoke, Nicocigs, RJ Reynolds bought out Lorillard makers of Blu. So BT moving in on the market isn't a monopoly. Getting in bed with the FDA isn't exactly legal either. Or with politicians.

JTBC - Reynolds in all Likelihood will acquire Lorillard. But Reynolds will Not be taking Blu as part of the deal.

Blu will go to the Imperial tobacco Company if the sale of Lorillard goes thru. At least that is the Current Plan.

I think the political talk was not objectionable, because you're right, it's a political subject; it was the bickering and personal insults that were objectionable. It's tricky, here at ECF; obviously a lot of the stuff we discuss is going to be political, because of how we're being persecuted by the gov't; what's necessary is the ability to disagree *respectfully* -- we may think a lot of rude thoughts about those who disagree with our opinions, but if those kinds of rude thoughts are stated, then ECF will have a problem with those statements and the person who stated them.

Being Libertarian I believe a person is entitled to believe what they want to believe and has a right to voice an opinion, but personal attacks make me cringe tbh.

Wow all I can say is I hope I can still buy my pg vg and nicotine and flavors to make my own juice. Hope I can still buy kanthal wire for my RDAS. Hope there will be a way around all the B.S. and red tape. I sincerely don't want to go back to smoking! Or are we all going to have to buy our supplies from a different country? I was a slave to cigarettes once, I really don't want to see that happening again... even if I have to buy my vape products from a black market for me it's better than smoking again. Sure hope I can find what I need when everything is banned... this is about greed and control, very scarey. ..sort of seems the train has jumped the tracks and there is no stopping it. Very sad really. ..all I want to do is be able to vape.I would hate to be forced back into buying anything from big tobacco...I'd rather support the black market then big tobacco.it would be a real shame if it came to this....I just pray it does not happen!! I sure hope we can continue to have the freedom to vape as we wish...very sad that in America we are loosing our freedoms one by one. Very scarey if you ask me..and very very sad....

Missed that about PM buying Green Smoke.
Smart move as that is actually a decent product.

Are these companies large enough to even be considered a competition though?
Depends on their cash reserves.
The cynical side of me thinks they will be:
A) Marginalized by BT's overwhelming presence and marketing machine and then...
B) Offered a GINORMOUS buyout offer from BT leading to...
C) Them all being BT brands.

My guess is yes, you will be able to buy it because the BT EC makers have to get it from somewhere also. It may cost more, but you will probably still be able to get it in liters or smaller quantities. I'm just stocked up because I believe in being prepped.

Progressivism began in the 1890s as a movement that attacked the political, social, and political inequalities of the age. Many progressives blamed capitalism for the evils of society. However, unlike the Socialists, who wanted destroy the capitalist system, the progressives wanted to fix that system. Many progressives were tied to the Social Gospel movement of the Protestant church; others wanted to reform city governments, while still others desired to instill even more democracy in the electoral process (direct primaries, more use of the referendum, etc.). Many progressives launched projects to aid the immigrant population that existed in America's cities. The roots of progressivism yes, that gave us FDRs Social Security program but progressivism has went far left in the modern age.

America is in the midst of a fierce culture war between those who embrace traditional values and those who want to change America into a "secular-progressive" country. Under democratic presidents the United States did pursue policies of appeasement, containment, and surrender … and has often sacrificed American interests and security to placate anti-American interests. See Obamas Apology Tour.
Left-wing, secular-progressive liberals do, in fact, seem to have an extraordinary knack for always taking the anti-American stand.

OK OK there I go again on a political rant. FDA FDA FDA...lol

I started to write a very concise definition of my own values... but it's really not appropriate or on-topic, so I cancelled it. For all the political disagreement around here, it's still clear that we're united in our opposition to having e-cigs regulated out of existence "for our own good," which we all realize is really for the good of the bottom line of BT, BP, and Big Nanny's tax pockets. I think we all should try to keep that in mind -- we may disagree on many things, but on this one thing, we really need UNITY.

They're working on your food theory if anyone hadn't noticed. [emoji85] [emoji86] [emoji87]
your absolutely correct.

i have been saying for years if you live the so called healthy life style you are going to pay out the nose
way more than us drinkers and smokers are doing now.

its BP position that if vitamins, nutritional supplements, herbs and or spices and,any other organic material
is found to have any medicinal qualities it,along with its means of production, distribution, quality and control
should be regulated and treated as if it where a drug and require a prescription to get.
if they found something in apples and, they have, then you have to pay through the nose for your apple.
we are not the only targets under the sun.their out to get everyone.

Personal attacks are the refuge of people who have no ability to think for themselves. They run out of the pablum fed them and so, in the end, resort to the argument, "Your mother wears combat boots". When the bumper sticker mentality runs dry then resort to "ad hominum" attack. It is a logical fallacy but then logic is no longer a required subject.

There are many non-BT products that would most likely be able to meet the " 2007 predicate product" date.
NJoy for sure being as they are the product being predicated.
GreenSmoke, V2, Apollo, White Cloud, South Beach,,,,the cigalikes.

Assuming they have the coin to prove they are a based on a predicate product

SmokeyJoe said a while back that there will be no predicate products. This means all ecigs will have to go though the extremely expensive New Tobacco Product application process. Only BT companies and maybe a couple of the big ecig companies could afford this.

Do you believe that one set of career politicians is preferable to another set? Both are interested in re-election, enrichment, power and control. Each party has its business favorites. Then that party legislates and regulates to suit those favorites. The vaping industry will be in the same heap of trouble, albeit for different reasons, no matter the party in power. One will help us and protect us from our ignorant selves; one will protect the tobacco industry (although they haven't been doing much protecting lately).

wv2win: Seriously? {MODERATED} Change in Senate to a party that has always been in big tobacco pocket will help with this. {MODERATED}

Just to further illustrate that Big Tobacco is not our friend in the FDA Regulations, they have proposed a ban on e-liquids being used in open system aerosol containers. Ie: tanks, clearomizers and cartomizers. I would assume this would also apply to RBA type devices, too. They propose e-liquid be sold only in closed non-refillable cartridges like Blu e-cigarettes use.

These guys suck. Suck big. Aerosol tanks? Where are these aerosol tanks? While true in the pure form of the definition, they've chosen a word that is misleading in the American idiom. I'd invite anyone living in or visiting the Winston Salem area to stop by their headquarters and return some of their crap to them. Dog, elephant, human, any form of crap you have on hand.

Glad I'm not the only one particularly bothered by their choice of terminology.
