Finally, they've confirmed on Facebook they are working on a dual 18650 dna 200 Boxer. Here's the photo of the prototype:

Is this Alumylon Boxer yours? If yes, how is it in real life?
It is definitely a looker but would be lovely to hear about the feel/touch/etc

Yeah, interesting pricing strategy

To see it ''better'' ill paste all prices (its quite interesting - kind of puzzle game):

$249.95
BOXER READY SX350J

$249.95 BOXER READY DNA200 (2x18650)

$224.95
BOXER READY DNA200 (LiPo) - Alumylon $249.95

$174.95
BOXER KIT DNA200 (2x18650) - Alumylon $199.95

$169.95
BOXER KIT SX350J - was $174.95

To see more ''$199.95'' we can get BOXER READY DNA200 (LiPo) in Pre-Order for that price now. ;)

Link: You searched for boxer - Ginger Vaper

EDIT:

With that kind of pricing (same value) - if I will only try to send my wife for shoping in there - she will get like BRAIN ERROR for sure!

I've raised a ticket and got a very quick answer and reasonable explanation I am happy to accept:

According to this, the (final) retail price difference between 2x18650 and LiPo version is "that the DNA133 requires an extra manufacturing part of the battery sled/tray which is not needed with the LiPo version. Also there are a bunch of additional parts needed like the battery contacts, magnets and much more custom wiring"

In terms of the availability of preorder discount only on assembled LiPo version I was told that: "We were able to pass on a savings we received from the enclosure manufacturer on the DNA200 LiPo version and that is why we are running that special (which will be over shortly). Unfortunately, that special is now over from them so we were unable to purchase the DNA133’s at the same special pricing to run a pre-order sale on that version too."

Fair enough.
1 x Boxer kit DNA200 (2x18650) on the very top of my list, colour/material still undecided tho.

True.
Not to mention that the parts for my slutlab mod are just around the corner. If I don't screw the build I will still have a LiPo3s powered DNA200 around to experiment with:)

Quite expensive experiments :D

Maybe thats why ive picked ready to go version. Also im pretty interested with 3D print material (have enough of metal, alu and neverending problems with coating on it).
Its NYLON TIME! \../

Good pick and price !

Be honest.. most of us will not go over 80-100W. :p

My understanding is that it is the same DNA200 chip with the same jst-xh connector. You could probably easily convert back to a 3S lipo and 200 watts (if you can find a pack to fit in the smaller enclosure)?

Interesting: the dimensions of the Boxer 133 watt are listed as the same as the Boxer SX350J.

I'm leaning towards getting this dual 18650 version because of that smaller size and the better battery life of dual 18650s, plus I always have the option of using my Opus if I need more than 133 watts. I really would like to get a white one, but I'm not sure how that would hold up.

I'm really bothered by the fact that there is a 50 dollar difference right now between the LiPo version and the 18650 version. Do some battery contacts, a plastic sled, etc really cost another 25 dollars? I know nothing about these kinds of things which is why I am asking.

From what I read somewhere around here in the forums, it's not just the extra parts, but they also got a bigger discount on the first DNA200 boards they ordered and are now paying a little more for the boards, too.
