I normally don't step in and say anything but I watched that guys videos about the Boxer and he said in the video he got it from Shapeways and thinks GV has exclusive rights to it now.
So he did not say he got it from GV. So he did a review on Shapeways boxer and not GV Boxer. I could see if he said he got it from GV and said how crappy it was but he didn't so I personally don't think GV should of demanded he remove the video or change it as it was not the product they sell so they say.

GV got on the high horse like other modders and vendors. He did a review end of story. If people don't like it then don't watch it. If people like GV then good for you and if you don't like GV good for you also.

I have never ordered from them but thinking about getting the Boxer myself. So I'm on a even keel here and have nothing to gain or lose. Just giving my 2 cents since I have been following this from the get go. So many choices and not enough money..lol

Let's just put an end to sniping at each other and get this thread back on topic, shall we?

Agreed. I inquired to GV about the status of the Boxer orders. They said that the enclosures are in printing and shipping out this week, so they are currently on track for end-of-the-month delivery on the LiPo version. They also say that the dual 18650 is looking like 1st week of September, depending on how the dual 18650 beta the receive this week turns out. Looking forward to seeing how the alumylon Boxer turns out.

I really prefer 18650s to LiPos, but based on price and my interest in seeing if the chip is any better at 200W, I went with the LiPo. I still have to keep convincing myself that was the right decision. ;)

They posted a pic of the dual 18650 on their site, so guess it's a go...

Considering both the lipo and 18650 versions just have the battery in the door I think it would be awesome if they just sold the other door so that you could switch between lipo and 18650 but I'm guessing thats not possible right?

18650s require a sled and more intricate wiring.

also different firmware I believe. Finally, even if you could craft an 18650 battery package for the LiPo DNA 200, the battery door is not as easy to remove (18650 has a magnetic door that makes battery replacement easy).

Don't mean to be repetitive with the post I made in the SX350J Boxer thread, but how are people deciding on color? Favorite color? One just stand out to you immediately?

I've settled on a 18650 DNA Boxer, but I am stuck on what color to get - I have it "narrowed down" to black, white, alumylon, orange, or green, lol. I think black and alumylon are ahead right now although I debate whether the alumylon is worth another 25 dollars (I'd like a gray/silver one, but I am not a huge fan of the distressed gray, nor have I seen a representative picture of one).

If u think to use it in TC mode (mostly) i recommend to go for 200W. Just watch Grimm or other guys (what they sayin bout 200W in TC mode - STEP UP in vapeing experience).

Whats wrong with LiPo? DNA200 has GREAT build in charger and balancer (1st reviews saying it clearly). Easy to swap, cheap, compact.. and act extremly well in e-cig environment (LiPo). Im fine with it. Damn, even price is better than 2 x 18650 (much LESS parts inside). Which tells me that theres much LESS things to get used. :D

Sorry but I see just pros.

Well, if a person's vape style is one that allows a single 18650 to get them through the day most of the time, then the lipo can be a great switch. But if the vape style is where you absolutely need 2 or more full 18650's, then it's not as easy or great of a move. Depending on the mod, you're either going to be tethered to a charger for about an hour or so, or specifically in the case of the Boxer, you can buy an additional lipo, which means you probably need a new charger. Granted, a lipo charger isn't overly expensive unless you want one that discharges also, which is good for properly conditioning the lipo... then they're a bit more for a good one. While there's inherent risk in charging lipo's as well as 18650's, the lipo does need more caution. It really should be charged in a fireproof bag so there's an additional expense and while you don't have to watch it every second charging, you also don't want to just plug it in and leave it alone the entire time. I throw 18650's on the charger and I might glance at it once as I walk by the charger. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving a lipo that unattended. Some may find it easier to carry around an extra 18650 or two compared to a lipo. I'm not trying to say they're ticking bombs just waiting to go off in a ball of fire, but they do require more respect than an 18650.

The number of pro's will depend on the individual vaper and their style/usage. Going dual 18650, in a prebuilt at least, the only negative is 133w down from 200, since someone else is putting the parts in. For some that will be a larger negative than others. From using subtank plus, billow v2, goliath v2, and silverplay tanks, the billow has the highest preheat at 60w. For my vaping style/builds, anything over that is too much - I started at 200w, then 150/120/80, etc. and brought them all down. If I used 24ga or larger diameter wire or claptons, etc. in a dripper, it might be different. Point is, every vaper needs to base their decision on their own vape style... it's really not as simple as lipo is better than 18650.

Where was your friend able to hold a green boxer? I know that Ginger Vaper has locations in NY and Florida, but they told me that the NY office which is closest to me is only an office, not a store. I was thinking about asking if I could make the drive just to see any colors that they have though if that is a possibility.
