Hello everybody. I am a new overseas member of this forum. This is my first post outside the "New Members" area.
I've been using the A2 atomizer for a month. I am a big A2 fan because it is versatile, customizable and it personally gives me a sense of "security" from knowing what is going on (almost) in the crucial vaporization process.
I have tried some stuff on the A2 which I want to share with you. First of all look at the picture.

DualCoil A2.jpg

Since reading about dual-coil cartomizers, I wanted to try the concept on the A2 just for fun. It is very easy.
In my case the coils have 6-7 turns (the one in the left was done in a hurry and it does not look very good:blush:). This setup puts the two coils in parallel, so if the resistance of the two coils is the same, the total resistance is halved (for example putting two 6ohm coils in parallel gives a total resistance of 3ohms). My setup gives a total resistance of 2.5ohms which is OK for a 3.7v battery. You may wonder why try this and not a coil with fewer turns? With the supplied .12 gauge wire I should make a coil with just 2-3 turns and I wanted something that occupies more "real estate" on the wick for more and better vapor production.

The experience?
A little too strong for my taste, tons of vapor and flavor. This is ideal for vapers seeking for an extreme experience on 3.7volt batteries.
Try it for fun and give here your experience and suggestions for improvements.

Constantinos - First, thanks for that idea, I will definitely try it!!! I have no idea why I haven't thought of that!!! But regardless, to hear you say "too strong for my taste, tons of vapor and flavor" means I have to try it. Second, welcome to ECF!!! I have been to Cyprus as a US sailor many times and always had a lot of fun on your wonderful island!!! Great place to visit back in the 80's - 90's!

For Planetscribbles, pm me your mailing address. I will order a 100yds just because and pull you off a bunch and mail it to you. I can always use it I am sure. It may take a bit of time because I haven't actually ordered any yet, but consider it a gift so you have no VAT to pay.

@Constantinos, so that is basically just two separate 5ohm coils attached to the terminals on opposite sides?
@JollyRogers, that is very decent of you. I will PM you my mailing address shortly. No rush, I have a bit of cetins stock left so please send it whenever is convenient. Thanks.

I used to use 510 in all my devices. I notice no difference in flavor. The draw on my A2 was to "airy" for me so I restricted th hole in the mouth piece with a toothpick. This helped a great deal with the flavor. the same could be achieved with a restriction of the air hole using a set screw (venturi)( but I don't want to screw my A2 up). Try it .Good luck

@SmaBob - did you notice any difference in flavor? The only reason I don't use my A-2 a lot is because of lack of flavor. Vapor production is awesome though. I thought of doing some DIY and make real strong flavor wise to see if I could get it. If it worked, I would go back to using my A-2 full time and just order extra flavoring to add to my liquids. This is with tobac flavors BTW...

Has anyone seen in this forum or elsewhere, information about converting an A2 atomizer into a Genesis atomizer?

Logically it must be relatively easy to replace the dreaded fiberglass wick with a stainless steel mesh roll similar to that in the Genesis atty. Of course Genesis works with a tank and I am not sure if the mesh can suck juice out of the synthetic wool in the A2 cartridges. Actually I am not concerned with that since I am using a simple tank mod for the A2 that was posted by an Italian guy on youtube (see below). Basically he removes the wool from the A2 cartridge, seals it with the white cap from a Boge carto and he inserts a folded wick in the hole. The setup works very well.

If you know anything please reply.

I'm concerned with this mod that the single strand of wick coming out of the cart won't make good contact with the wick wrapped by the coil. Can someone using this mod speak about how easy or difficult it is to make sure the wicks are touching each other in order to transfer juice from the tank, to the tank wick, to the coil wick?

I am personally more generous with the wick length. I use twice the size of the wick shown in the video and I let two strands to protrude from the "tank".

Additionally I loosely tie together the ends of the wick that comes out of the resistance coil so that they do not touch the walls of the atty and they become centered. You can use another small piece of wick or resistance wire to that. This in general improves the wicking performance of the A2 whether you use the tank mod or just the standard cartridge.

Well poo! No A2 in the mailbox today, day #20, either. I'm the worst at waiting....

Now at day #21 and no joy with the A2. According to the tracking code I received from Cetin, it arrived in the US on 6-1. Does anyone know what port it would have come into? Not sure why something would take so long to get to me once it arrives in the US. I know it has to go through customs, but as far as I know they (still) only do spot checks of packages.

...And the A-2 should not set off any alarms. Mine came in through NY. Plus I had to sign for it from the post office. Have you checked with your PO to see if it is sitting there?

Haven't checked with them yet. Thought today was my lucky day (day #21) since I have read of some folks getting theirs in 19-21 days. I know from previous USPS deliveries that they finish sorting around 0830 so I may have to try to be there at 0800 Monday morning for an intercept mission.

What are you thinking of yours so far? Where is your airhole in relation to the coil/wick? I hear some say opposite side, some say right next to.

I like mine and actually have two, an aluminum and a stainless, the SS is very nice. With the amount of kanthal and wick I have here, I will never be without an atomizer for probably 20 years or so! I don't use it as much as I used to due to new toys (GGTS/UFS - so need 510s)... My airhole lines up so it blows across the coil. You should be getting it any day.

Good morning Jolly;

You're up mighty early on a Sunday. I'm hoping it will be delivered soon. Getting really excited about the new toy. The new shiny object of the week. Thinking about a Darwin. Don't you have one of those? If so, what do you think of it compared to the Provari? I have a Provari VV also. The biggest difference I see between the two, besides the display, is that the Darwin is supposed to adjust the watts on the fly depending on the sampling of the oHms of the atty.

Got my A2 in this morning! After reading that the package has to be signed for I went to my PO this morning and was able to catch the driver before he left for his route. He had my A2 in his truck. Good timing on my part otherwise I would have to pick it up tomorrow.

Those that are plugging the end of the carto with the mouthpiece from a CE2, how full are you filling the container after you remove the stuffing?
